This tutorial is full of top tips for watercolour painting: trees, people, street scenes… it’s got it all! And if you like painting like this you’ll love my Patreon lessons! www.patreon.com/dewintonpaperco
I’m having trouble understanding the brushes you’re using. You say rigger but not size. Also the 00 detail brush. Are they yours. I love the simplicity of your style
At the first of the year I treated myself to an upgrade in my Patreon membership and have so enjoyed working thru additional projects with Harriet.
Thanks for sharing!!
Just decided after watching this and trying numerous times to paint people, I am joining your Patreon page!
Awesome! Thank you!
Awestruck!💖 For those of us who can't join Patreon at this time, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for your generosity in sharing this tutorial to RUclips. So much richness to delve into and inspiration to keep us stretching forward!💗💕
You are so welcome!
Ethereal ❤ The trees are reminiscent of birch trees! As a Patreon, I want to encourage everyone to consider joining that special service! Harriet is able to spend more time on the videos and therefore great detail in the content. You won’t be sorry!
(About the cost of a Starbucks coffee! One drink that is gone in 30 minutes for a month’s content of inspiration and instructions!)
You ROCK. Harriet!!!
Oh Brenda thanks so much!
Wow Harriet - your best landscape 👏👏! Just beautiful - you really should continue to develop this aspect of your painting away from the florals (at which you are totally expert!). Thank you so much for sharing and inspiring - I particularly love there is no drawing!
Thanks so much 😊 yes this is definitely an area I’m keen to explore further

Just love this style of painting Harriet! I love that the buildings are so faded into the background since I’m not one for cityscapes. I appreciate them, just more of a village person then big city. But I did learn a lot. Thank you for the miles of tutorials you provide for us out here, and for your books too. Blessings to you!
Thanks so much 😊
I really enjoyed watching you paint this. Thank you so much for sharing.

I used landscape instead of portrait but it came out okay. Needed bigger trees for perspective but I think it wasn’t too bad. Thank you!

I absolutely adored this tutorial and would love to learn more. I have both your botanicals, and birds and bees watercolor books. I'm heading to your patreon right now to check it out.
Wonderful!
Lovely
Thanks!
A very inspiring video. Thank you 🤎
My pleasure!
Прекрасно!😊
Dear Harriet, this one is absolutely stunning!! Definitely one of my very favorites. I have been avidly following you since before Christmas and many of my own Christmas cards were painted by learning and following along with your own. I must tell you that due to your wonderful teaching (it definitely helps that I am left-handed 😊) , they were all total successes and turned out beautifully. I am definitely ready to become a Patreon because I would love to access more tutorials such as this one that are a bit longer and venture out a bit to more topics. Thanks ever so much for sharing this wonderful vignette, I can't wait to give it a go! 👩🦳🖌️
Ah thanks so much Deborah!
Love the picture! Can't afford Patreon though, so please keep up the Utube demo's!
That's the plan!
Muy bonito. 👏
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this tutorial Harriet I learned so much from it especially about perspective and using the Rigger brush for delicate work.
But oh, the " plinky plonk " music in the background !
Personally I found it very annoying having to block it out so I could hear every word of your instruction.
You are so welcome! We’ve since got rid of the underscore
Hello Harriet , it’s such a nice detailed video . Can you please share what colours you have taken to draw the buildings
Hi Saloni, the buildings were a very dilute mix of the burnt sienna and paynes grey and yellow ochre tones in my palette
Omg this painting is so pretty and you make it look so easy. I'm a beginner but I do paint everyday. Great tutorial, thanks 👍🙏
Thank you so much 😀 and do have a go, I’m sure you’ll surprise yourself!
Hi Harriet, thank you for the “Painting people…” RUclips lesson. Which of your Patreon levels would give me access to this full length lesson?
Theresa
This is the full length lesson of this tutorial. Patreon has more similar to this and on lots of other topics at this level of detail. You want the sweet pea tier to access these kinds of tutorials
Thank you!
I too am considering your Patreon platform but I’m such a beginner I’m very unsure and nervous I won’t be able to keep up 😧 Your ability to turn blobs into people or doggies or umbrellas is positively magical to watch!😮 I don’t know if my right brain is developed enough…it might do this🤯
You can do it! You can always cancel or edit your membership if you find out it’s not for you but I’m keen to encourage everyone to have a go and surprise themselves
