I usually start with a sketch/doodle and then add the paint. But that actually looks amazing so I will try it out.

Doodling is such fun! If you tell yourself it's only a doodle, you relax and how creative you become! Thanks for sharing this Harriet. I haven't doodled in a while and am now grabbing my water colours and pens!

I’d love to learn how to ‘scribble’ with a pen to make quick trees/bushes/foliage but make it believable.

I don’t know but I wonder if you have to be left handed. I agree I don’t “scribble” all that well either!

am laughing because I do this frequently...but maybe I do it because I simply love adding ink and my problem is that I paint too tightly, so to me my art looks unfinished without the ink or lines...need to decide if that's a strength to continue on doing or if it's a weakness to overcome...oh, well...are we artists never quite pleased with our 'finished' works⁉️
Even my comments seem never complete...wanted to drop back in and ask if you could do a series of intuitive florals with ink (or pencil or colored lines) as finishing method? I hope you will consider doing that❗️Also we TY and say GBY for your generosity in sharing your skills and tutorials with us here on YT. 🥰

Thank you so much for this video! I look forward to and enjoy watching and listening to all your tutorials and videos! 😊Love the combo of ink and watercolor!! The pens you used, are they permanent or would they run if more layers of watercolor were to be added?

    • @deWintonPaperCo

They are water resistant so you could paint over them too if you wanted
