Hey! Thank you for making this video! I asked and you delivered. I had already left, but still this video did not exist until you made it! Needed to be made. 😎
Is it better to work with a captive agency first with the goal to move more into independent role later? It seems difficult to pay for leads as an independent as an inexperienced newbie. What agencies would you suggest going with to learn how to sell?
If I signed an offer letter, I hate where I work and I am almost about to take the State exam… 1) Am I currently a captive agent without authorization? I assume no. 2) When do I become a captive agent? Do I have to sign something with my Principle besides my offer letter? 3) Can I get authorization through my state from passing the test then switch agencies immediately? Please, someone assist me. I’m in a bind. I want to be an agent however, working for this woman is taking 1 day off my life each hour 😆
If i wanted to live in south america for 8 months per year, is independent better for that? Also out of health, life, auto, are any of those less flexible in regulations if you wanted to move to south america? I found your channel on a video you made about traveling and selling insurance
What if I applied to an agency but have not taken my exam yet? Do I technically work for them at this point? If I decide to go straight independent after paying my exam would I would be reported?
I want to work with another agency not independent just yet...but the last company that terminated my employment say they wont release me for 6 months!.. I have been hired at another company I need the release from the last company I know i can sue.. but I need to try and just get them to sign a release
I'm currently an independent contractor for AO Globe Life. I got coded in my state with a super small policy. I have not made any other sales. I just got a job offer for a company that is captive (non MLM), with hourly pay plus commissions, paid training, 401k, not a 1099. How do I go about getting my contract released with AO so I can make a smooth transition to this new company? Thanks in advance!!
Non-competes normally cannot prevent you from selling with another insurance agency. Most judges would laugh such a claim out of court as companies cannot impede on your ability to make a living.

Loved the hats, glasses and such lol. It's crazy I left a few weeks before you made this but I went through pretty much everything you said. Spot on.
Welcome =)
Well said. Very good and unbiased information.
Appreciated!

Most likely not. You aren't a licensed agent until your licensed, of course.

I signed up with globe life, can I sign up with a broker agency too?
The accessories are genius
Thanks =)
Great stuff David!
Welcome!
Can you be captive and independent at the same time.
Not really - that's an oxymoron, like "living dead," or 'beautifully ugly."
I got my life insurance license but I don’t know the steps to work as and independent. 🙄.
Check out my agency. We recruit and train independent agents: davidduford.com/faq/
what if you get fired !!!!
Will my company holding me captive for almost a year now after leaving… will that ruin my insurance career if I’m not looking to go independent yet?
How have you been able to make any money then??
No mention of the non compete?

Have you or can you do a review on NAA(The Alliance) insurance. I don't see anything on the company.
No, I haven't. Trust your gut =)
Oh hey that’s me
Hello! =)
Can a agency deny you the release of your appointments … I’m going independent ACA
