    The Trojan Horse is a legendary story about the Greeks building a giant wooden horse, filling it with soldiers, and leaving it outside the walls of Troy. The Trojans, believing it to be a peace offering, brought it inside the city walls. However, the horse was filled with Greek soldiers who attacked the city from the inside and won the war. In this episode, we explore the history of this story and consider whether it was a real event or just a literary device. While some argue that the Trojan Horse was merely a literary device used to enhance the story's drama, most historians believe that it is just a myth. They point out that not only has no physical evidence of the horse been found, but the concept of hiding soldiers inside a large wooden horse would not have been practical. Join us as we unravel the mystery of the Trojan Horse by separating fact from fiction.

      @@StillFriendsTillToday, you forgetting about Ancient Greece way of govern that time. When they capture cities or nation they always erected a wooden monument as victory sign. Troja was offended by its fact and brought it inside cuz they felt that they were victorious 😂 They were outplayed by a very good tactic.

    While it's entirely plausible it was a literary device, I don't think lack of physical evidence means much here, seeing as it's such a (relatively) small, biodegradable, one-of-a-kind object.
    There isn't even physical evidence of half of the wonders of the ancient world.

    There is a depiction of the Trojan Horse from just 20 years or so after it was alleged to have existed, which is near enough contemporary evidence. So I would say it definitely existed.

    I mean, how many soldiers can fit in a wooden horse? And how big would it have to be to fit enough soldiers, to win a battle once they got inside? Sounds unlikely

    • @abhijitnath66
      @abhijitnath66 Год назад

      The soliders inside the horse didn't actually fought. They just set up Troy in fire in midnight when the people were asleep. They just burned the buildings and killed people in silence. When the Trojans got to know about it, it was very late. Almost half of the city was burnt and many people were killed. As people weren't armed, they thought to escape it was easy for the Greeks to kill them.

Story of odyssey also says about the horse . History usually is translated in different papyrus or different kind of papers or books .

    • @pantazev
      @pantazev 11 месяцев назад

      People more stupid now (on general level) then back then. Just compare what they thought and created back then. And Trojan horse age good example of using brain 😂 Greeks after they captured a city or nation - always built a schools to educate, a theater to enrich mind, a clinic to ensure that people is treated properly (holy water don’t really save you from plague 😂) along with bath (and it was mandatory to take it). And they always placed only fully wooden monument for their victory so it will rot away, in order not to damage ego of population for long time. So it was a good tactic to pull against Troja. And you telling that they were pretty stupid? Where exactly?
