This is actually written for mamamoo back then, a title track contender actually, and the other candidate song is Starry night. But due to solar’s injury at that time, they chose Starry Night and this one was kept in the treasure box. Listen to the b-side from this ep though, Save Me and Starry Sea.
You have to leave your expectations that you have for them as members of Mamamoo AND as soloists behind. They're something else entirely! Solar and Moonbyul have really given their sub-unit a unique identity and leaned more towards a cute, soft direction. I do recommend listening to their discography because there's a good variety of songs. They even have some OSTs(Super Gap, Bada Boom) and a prominent cover(Promise U)! There are a lot of MVs for such a small discography and they're amazing quality considering how poorly sub-units are supported by most companies. It's okay to enjoy their music less if it's not your taste though. Enough people did enjoy it for them to do a small tour in Asia and have many festival appearances.
Thank you for pitching them to me. It's not like I'm completely opposed to them but it was just a hurdle I had to get over. As I'm already struggling a bit with motivation to check out really anything in Kpop, the things I DO check out are very limited and only the stuff I'm super giga extra excited for. And Mamamoo+ just wasn't a part of that up until now. I do know Bada Boom actually, wasn't aware that counts as a Mamamoo+ song, but that song slaps. I think 'Promise U' also sounds familiar. I'll try to check out more Mamamoo+ and be less expecting something, that'll probably help me get into it more. Thank you again :)
Like Mamamoo, there is a lot of diversity in their songs. They do quite a few cute concepts, but for their more serious side, I really like Starry Sea (no video), Chico Malo, and Save Me.
I'm surprised that you want to pidgeon hole them. Both of them can do a vast array of styles. I like the previous mini album better than Two Rabbits, particulary Chico Malo, which is absolutely fantastic.
