Kyle, thank you for doing this video. I am considering the Icom 2730a as my radio but I was struggling with many of the other aspects of the setup that you covered in your video. Adding the complete bill of material with hot links and explaining your setup was very helpful to me and appreciated. You have saved me frustration and $$ too, especially on the carry bag. I am elated that I ran across your channel and this video. Robert, K4PYA

I've yet to do satellite work but that looks like a legitimate starter setup to me.

Awesome, love the setup! Pro tip there on the TS audio connector!

Yeah the audio only in one ear was driving me crazy.

I like that setup, and great choice of radio.

Can't believe I had this setting around for years and it's "SAT" friendly.

Looks good! I definitely need to try satellites soon.

Awesome. You could print a rail that is slightly longer for the left side to “level it out” in your pack.

I'm going to print you a rail....

Looks great! Could you print some new rails that stick further out the back as to accommodate/protect the antenna connectors, and even out both sides so it sits flat in the bag? It may even provide some additional room at the back for airflow from the fan?

You know I thought about that. I could almost design a rail that splits on each side of the PL259 connector so that side sits on the rail in the bottom of the bag. On the other side, just make it longer so that fan can work the way it was intended. Good idea. Thanks for the comment and the idea. I might do that this weekend.

Could print a longer side rail or just an extension for siderail .. making it sit even

    • @AA0Z

Yea. I think I'll do that. Thanks for watching.

That was going to be my suggestion as well. Great minds and all... ;)

I think you should print another left rail and make it 1/2 inch longer in the rear or even with your 90s

    • @AA0Z
      @AA0Z  Год назад

      That's a good idea.

I've only ever heard of those connectors being called "T-Type". I've never seen a more formal name for them (or any sort of recognized standard to define them).

    Hi Kyle,
Well thought out setup. I think the Yaesu FTM-300 is full duplex. Do you think it would work for the FM satellites? Stay safe. 73 WJ3U

I 3d printed them. They design is from Thingiverse.

10-4, I have been looking for a file on thingiverse and coming up short on this particular radio. @@AA0Z
