I don’t get why anyone wants Aswad. He is not just an idiot but also dishonest. He is treating them both wrong. On the one hand he gave a ring to mashal and then claiming there was no romance, and on the other hand he knows how awfully mashal is treating his mom so can he not imagine how they treat mehreen in that home? but he is still rolling his eyes that she has no where to go and move in with them, when the right thing was to go and stand up for her. What a useless fellow. Both of them should refuse to marry him.

I love the fact that Mehreen has suffered so much but is shown as very strong and brilliant in her thinking! Not bechaari types. She told mashal- ki agar mai tumhe Aswad de bhi doon , tab bhi tumhe that other boy chahiyega. She knows that mashal wants to take any and everything that Mehreen likes ! Such a brilliant story- only Pak drama industry has such amazing writers!

Yes obviously. Mashal is carrying a lot of hurt and trauma from her childhood because she was always compared to Mehreen and was made to feel that she is not good enough. It is a lesson for parents to not compare their children w anybody. Every child is unique in their own way, have their own personalities and journey in life. I feel nothing but compassion and empathy for Mashal. A person is jealous when they are very unhappy in their life.

Unfortunately in the Pakistani community a single mother is blacklisted nearly all the time. Her value is less as there is no longer a man in the house. Her children also suffer. The children might win a case from their father’s family but those would usually be sons. The mum side of the family will ultimately see the children as a burden. Until this mentality changes unfortunately this cycle will continue.
Also, Nani needs to please her son and his wife. The son and wife she is living with dictate the value of mehreen. Without her son the Nani has nothing.

Humsafar ki khirad even looks older than this mehreen. Despite there is 11 years difference 🙂 today I change my stance, Mahira really has groomed herself over these years, and THIS is her success!!!

I hope Mehreen forgives her mother. I feel bad for her. Even though she couldn't keep Mehreen and married again because she couldn't take a stand for her daughter, at the end of the day she is still the only one who is Mehreen's well wisher apart from Aswad's mother.
Being a mother and being a mere well wisher both are totally different thing. She could have been a single mother to Mehreen and raise her. And even if she had to marry someone, she could have married a person who would have accepted her along with Mehreen.

There are many single parents, both men and women, who sacrificed a lot to make sure their children were their priority. So Mehreen's mother was far from ideal, but she hasn't been shown to be a selfish, evil woman either. Her personality traits are flawed and that has been shown since the start. She loved the money her husband earned and flaunted it, but couldn't accept him when he faltered. She loved Mehreen and took her away when she left him, but couldn't take a stand for her. She'd feel for her daughter but could never have the courage to speak up in defiance of her mother and brother. They married her off and she probably didn't even disapprove. But my point is that we forget our parents are also humans. They make mistakes. They're far from perfect, but they did what they best thought at the time in the circumstances. And unless they're downright narcissistic and abusive, forgiving them may just heal the broken child. In Mehreen's case, she feels abandoned by her mother. But her feeling of dejection and resentment is also hurting her. Her mother didn't break off Mehreen's marriage to Aswad even though her mother and brother pressurised her. They threatened to break off all contact. She has Mehreen's best interests at heart. She wants Mehreen to find happiness even though she couldn't provide it to her. In a sea of strangers that Mehreen finds herself in, her mother is one of only two people who want to see her happy. This is why forgiveness is such an important virtue when we grow up. A lot of people die with regrets in their hearts because they held on to hatred for too long. That's my point.
Well wisher? After giving Mehreen a lifetime of Rejection and trauma? No way.....Mehreen needed her after her father's death but she chose herself.... unforgivable.
