    Wow! Father speaks with such Godly wisdom. He also has the gift of communication, and being clear and concise. This whole talk of vocations and the priest being married to the Bride of Christ, the Church. It's easy to see when a priest views his congregation as his "Bride". I also loved the story of his father's wedding band. Father definitely has special parents and family. We are getting to know Father Cristino better. It helps when include his name in my daily prayers for Priests. Thank you both very much for this. 🙏🤲🙏💕💖

    As a beautiful Catholic hymn goes "And humbly I'll receive Thee, the bridegroom of my soul..." Union with God, with Jesus, is the goal of every soul. 🌹🔥

      SAME!! But There are also secular orders one can join. I just learned about this two years ago! Such as the Dominicans or the Franciscans, etc.. you can join them as a married person.. just that you don’t live in a monastery or convent…but you go to the meetings and everything, follow the prayer rules and do events and ministry with them.

    I had a friend doing in the priesthood. So many people were surprised that he went in. I told him one day I thought the same person who'd make a good priest should make a good husband father neighbor friend excetera. He actually said would look so happy so you actually you understand you get it and I said of course. I think you're a good person and you would have been good in any of it that's why God wanted you in the priesthood to share with all of us

    Fathers are on shortage these days. Priest or worldly.
    Men with integrity , selfless sacrifice , men who raise up and hold fast the ones they are to care for. Great respect to any man who is a Father . Some cultures have their youth go to seminary very young and then see if the call is real. How can we get a spark if we don’t get close to the fire? Pray for Priest Fathers and family Fathers. They need respect and encouragement prayers. The devils plan is to diminish their authority and role - then the whole family is

    I have always wondered when (the year) it was decided that priests must be celibate?? St. Peter was a married man, as well as a couple of other Apostles. I can understand why they decided celibacy, as families are very expensive to provide for.

  • @zealousideal
    @zealousideal 5 месяцев назад

    It made perfect sense to me when he said it and he’s right!! That’s the proper way to look at it!! I got what he was saying. Infact Catholics are the only church that teaches the celibacy thing (which has pros and cons with it honestly). God made ALL of us to marry and have kids and populate the earth this is scripture even from Genesis. I mean our very biological makeup tells us this.
    It’s just that SOME also have a HIGHER deeper special anointing/calling to step up to lead Gods people and do the work of a priest and give their life fully in every way. No that’s POWERFUL!! As one priest said this same thing and also said it’s married or supernatural life. Whichever way u want to look at it… it’s true.
    People think that they “won’t like girls” or something weird. no that’s not how it is. Every Male has an attraction to the opposite sex (unless they’re gay ) because that’s normal and that’s what God called us to do.. but you put aside those things and die to yourself and those biological urges to follow Christ in a fuller way and give yourself to him fully. They’re STILL married …Just Basically now instead they’re married to HIM and his church/bride and his children are the parishioners/souls of that parish and he’s called to do that specific work and calling. Simple.

    This makes no sense what so ever. It would if the church was just made up of just women. What he fails to understand is the Bride of Christ metaphor is not literal. It is signifying Christ union with all believers. It is a metaphor about submission because women had no rights and were property in the context of marriage during that time. Just like we are to be slaves to Christ. Superstitions like this lead to people making wrong decisions leading to abuse by Priest. Celibacy is a gift from God, not a mandate.
