The Great Day

  • Throughout the Old Testament, we find an unfolding picture of God Almighty as the divine warrior appearing from heaven to establish justice and righteousness on earth. Jude’s letter, explains Alistair Begg, reminds us that this anticipation finds its fulfillment in the Lord Jesus. He who came to earth, died in our place, rose from the grave, and ascended to heaven will one day return as promised, judge the whole world, and save those who have believed in and received Him with open and empty hands.
    Preached: 06/11/23
    Scripture: Jude 1:14-16

    So true what Alistair says about todays pulpit. I’ve noticed for years that rarely, if at all, does anyone ever speak on judgement anymore, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, Jesus coming back or Genesis where within the first 12 chapters, everything we need to know about man’s fall, sin and the wheels of Gods wonderful redemptive plan of salvation is put into motion. So good to hear Alistair remain true to the Word of God and earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints himself. May the Lord continue to richly bless his ministry as he adhere to Gods Word. Thank you Alistair.

    I just wanted to say thank you for your ministry it's such a blessing to me. I only wanted to say I listen to you because you are a product of English evangilise, I find that you have a deeper understanding of God's word! I am also sorry that people have judged you unfairly about the lady that wanted to maintain a relationship with her Grandaughter. God knows the grandaughters heart, maybe that's what she needed to draw her to Jesus, I believe that you are led by the Spirit, and who are we to question what God puts on your heart? God bless you brother you are in my prayers. Sis Elizabeth

    what is the holy day of the week?

      Greetings. Good question.

    • @joshanderson7211
      @joshanderson7211 3 месяца назад

      answer will vary depending on your views and background, even within the church. Traditionally, in the Old Testament, it was Saturday. Within Acts and within early church tradition, Christians gathered on the first day of the week to fellowship, breaking bread and Paul spoke (Acts 20:7).; in my opinion, I believe we see Jesus fulfill the law in all ways, including the sabbath. I think taking into account Matthew 12:1-14 along with New Testament writings on the sabbath, we are not bound to observe any holy day, rather we are free from the law, and as followers of Christ still commanded to meet together as God's people (Hebrews 10:25) but this is not because it is "the holy day" but rather because it is commanded of us. Different Godly Christians will have differing opinions of how the sabbath transfers over to new believers though.
