- This video is very special to me and I hope you will enjoy it! I'm doing a glam diy to make a lace crown for my 100 year old friend Kay for her birthday! This lace crown DIY is super easy and inexpensive but looks like a million bucks! The queen herself would be envious! lol
This DIY crown would be perfect for anyone but especially great for a little girl's birthday party or dress up and is much nicer and more affordable than buying one at the store. Being handmade makes it very special as well!
So let's get our crafting on and make some crowns!!

Lovely idea...TFS
Such a lovely gift for your friend, she really looked like a beautiful queen. The crown you made for her was so pretty, and far better than the plastic crowns you can buy. This would be great for a little girls birthday or a little girl to make with supervision. My daughter used modpodge (or PVA glue, as it’s known in the UK, ) to make a project with her 3 year old daughter Emma, who managed to get a thin layer over parts of her hand, she sat for a full hour, quite as a mouse, peeling it off. My daughter was going to wash it off, but it would have been un-nice to spoil Emma concentration and I guess fun as she peeled it off. A lovely video Elaine, made better by featuring your wonderful friend on her birthday. xxx
Your daughter may be on to something! We can keep the little ones busy especially now when they need something to do!! LOL
What a sweet lady Ms Kay is, I'm sure she has the best stories - happy birthday Ms Kay! You have a great friend in Elaine and such a thoughtful gift! I'm thinking for the less stable ones you could use a discarded white/clear plastic bottle, staple into a circle and hot glue?
Great idea Viro!!
This is such a beautiful gift to give..shes going to love this..happy birthday to her and many more blessed years..god bless her..so nicely done..tyfs♡
She was absolutely thrilled Janet! She's such a doll!!
@@ElainePetrakisMidnightCrafter ..I'm glad and she is a wonderful lady..♡
Love the creativity! 💙💙
Thanks Miss Natalie!!
Happy birthday. That's a lot of cakes! XOXO
For sure!!
So sweet.💗 I think she loved it. She looked great wearing it. Tell her we all said Happy 100th Birthday. 😘
Great ideas and great video.
Will do Kim! Yes, she loved it!!
What an adorable idea Elaine! Happy 100th Birthday to Miss Kay, Many Birthday Blessings. 🎁
Nice! I would add another layer of lace. 👍😁💝
Great idea!!
U might could use the heavy clear vinyl that u can purchase by the yard at material stores or liquid starch. Great crowns
Happy Birthday Miss Kay. You are so lucky to have Elaine as a friend. My dad turned 96 this year. can you make a crown for him in four years? I think yours would turn out better looking than mine, all that you make is beautiful.
I would be happy to Cindy! Remind me in 4 years and you got it!
Maybe for the thinner lace crown, you could glue a thin plastic headband to the inside running horizontally
Thank you so much for bringing us these crowns. I love them. I can see why Miss Kay inspired these beautiful creations! She is a keeper
Great idea on the wires Cindy! I've never tried using potato or cornstarch on fabric but I'm not sure that that would work. Fabric starch would possibly work but I've never tried it. I just figured since the Mod Podge was only a dollar at Dollar Tree I'd give it a shot.
At crown was so special. I might have to do that. Lol
Oh how sweet such a great detail, a crown that is realy gorgeous. Happy birthday to the queen may God bless her and keep her healthy. Congratulations beautiful queen
How sweet!! They came out so cute! Happy 100th young lady!! Maybe weaving a pipe cleaner around thru the lace might support it!Have a great one Elaine!😁😁😘😘
What a beautiful thing to do for this Queen! Happy Birthday to the Queen. They turn out beautifully! Your Queen Lady looks wonderful!
I did one using Spray Starch .. several coats over 2 days .. worked fantastic! Never thought of the Modpodge idea!
I use strips of that 1\2" by 1/2" square *mesh type* chicken wire. Giving solid shape to the lace, & also allows you to build upwards with the right strength of wire... Giving you endless possibilities;) Just found your channel & I'm loving it, so thanx...
Awesome! Welcome Anna!! Thanks for the idea and for watching!!!
So cute! Think I'll try using this idea to make Birthday crowns for my twin great grandaughters first birthday.
Oh my you just gave me an idea to do these in mini size,i make princess mini trees out of the travel jenga. Thank you
What a great idea Kerry!
Going to make this asap!! Thank you!!
I love how this turns out! Happy crafting Gabe!!
Συγχαρητήρια!!!
Τόσο απλό και τόσο όμορφο...
Ευχαριστώ πολύ Αλεξάνδρα!
All the crowns are beautiful!! Your so talented 🌹
I love them. They look so regal! Have you tried a liquid starch? This could be another option.
I haven't tried liquid starch Gloria. I'm sure it would work great!
This is so cool. I have alot of my Grandma's hand tatted lace doilies that I just don't know what to do with....this would be so cool to do and to wrap on battery candles. I'm thinking...hmmm. ELG is almost half way to a 1000....CONGRATULATIONS ❤❤
Love these. What if you bought the plastic cutting mats at dollar tree and put that on the thin lace.
That's a good idea Rebecca!
So pretty. I wonder how a couple of coats of fabric stiffener or maybe triple thick would work.
It would probably work Karen. My only concern would be getting too much product on and plugging the holes of the lace.
Very nice. I’m a bit impatient, I’d just wrap lace around a coffee can rim & bam!, there it is
If you had added more coats of mod podge the crown would of been stiffer.
The E 6000 will mess up the silver backing on the stones. It did on a project that I did. Couldn't tell it until it dried. The stones became dull looking. The sparkle was gone and you could see were the E 6000 came in contact to the backing.
Your crown is very pretty.
I know that has happened to me with other stones but for some reason with these gemstones it doesn't happen. I think because the silver part on the back is thicker and maybe a little more plastic?
Make thin cement put your lace in and get it all covered then put around your can
Another great idea Denise! Thanks!
Thank you I received my package today 😊
Love your crown. Maybe try spray starch to stiffen your smaller lace crowns. Good heavens that comment ages me. Does anyone even iron or use starch anymore? 🤤
Lol...I totally remember spray starching shirts as a kid! Thanks Merry!!
I have parchment paper in my craftroom an kitchen.
Hi Elaine, Oh now we're talking, just what I need to wear around my house...lol where did you get your lace you used, that is beautiful lace. I use to use dollies to make bowls like this, using white glue.
I got the lace from Joanne fabrics several years ago but you can find nice lace at just about any fabric store.
Good morning!! where i live there's a little lady that has a BIRTHDAY ON VALENTINES!! She will be close to 100.. I want to make her a Crown. She is such a beautiful LADY!
I'm sure she'll love it Eva!!
HAPPPPPPY B DAY MY GORGEOUS QUEEN U CAN'T B 100 YRS YOUNG LADY NO MORE THAN 21 YRS.
Nice
Thank you!! 😊
Jewelry wire thick gauge could be attacked to make it stiffer
Zip ties would help to stiffen it.
Are your gems glass or plastic?
They're plastic Susan
Extremely Sweet, very nice and loving of you.
Carrie
It's not hard Carrie. She's an incredible woman and is loved by so so so many!!!
I would like to put my name in for your key chain draw. How do you do it.
Go to any if my videos and look in the description box below it. You'll find the link there. Good luck!!
liquid starch will work .
Thank you! I haven't used that in years! 🙂
Great job on your friends birthday crown! That was an excellent idea...like you said, what do you give someone turning 100 that they don't already have! Have your ever heard of a product called ProtectaClear by Everbrite, Inc.? ( www.ProtectaClear.com) I like to do beadwork, and I can dip the beads in this clear liquid and let dry and they become stiff and hold their shape. I have never tried it on fabric, so cannot vouch for that! Just thought I would pass along! I really enjoy your videos and your diy projects!
Thanks for the tip Bobbi! I haven't heard I'd that product.
Is RUclips going to allow you to stay. I think they should make an exception since they change the rules in midstream.
Yes Patricia. This channel is not affected. I just need 1000 subs in the new channel in order to do live feeds.
Elaine Petrakis Midnight Crafter I’m glad. I love your videos.
