AOTY over The Black by Imminence????? You’ve absolutely lost your mind if you can even say that with a straight face. It’s genuinely not even fair to put this in any category near The Black because its light years behind being anywhere near as good
These guys have been good since their first album (technically a compilation since it's just demos put together). Song's For The Firing Squad is more on the mathcore/sasscore side of things like early Daughters and stuff. That's worth checking out. There isn't any cleans at all really on it but it's their heaviest material
Been listening to SYSC album for a while but this record hit new highs I never could’ve seen coming, turned me from a casual fan to obsessed. Saw them opening for Better Lovers, they’re fantastic live too!

It gives me a mixture of Black My Heart, Mindless Self Indulgence, and 2008 The Devil Wears Prada. I’m trying to process all of it but I love it.
Reminds of old Sasscore stuff and bands like Fear Beyond the March of Flames.

This album heavily reminded me of old Showbred with Mouth like a Magazine. And I mean that in the best way possible.

The Black was great, but this just edged it out slightly for metalcore. But both are definitely top metalcore albums for sure
