Fuck yeah bro, you went right to the point wasted no time, no bs, no funny business and explained it like a pro. Feels refreshing when it works out this way. Just wanted to say thanks bro
Bought a set of used discs for my CB1000 Big One. So happy I found your video before I changed both discs. Will use your method tomorrow before I install to see if one or both old discs are shot and then to check the replacements. Thank you!
Thank for this, hopefully this will help diagnose my braking problem on my cbr900rr. I just changed the tires and now the brakes are squishy. When I squeeze the brakes the right rotor moves a bit and if I clamp off the right brake line I've got full braking compression so my thought was the rotor but I'll try this to confirm
I know this one is 2 years old but... If you changed your wheels, did you centered the front wheel after putting it in again? If you tighten the screws which are clamping the front axle before you centered the wheel (spring in the forks a few times..) it might happen that your wheel isn't aligned perfectly.
My left front rotor was so warped it was pushing the caliper back in so far that I had to pump my brakes to have any front brake pressure. Had a difficult time figuring out what was going on, and don't know how it got warped.
Hello, Will this cause air to go into the brake lines? At track day braking hard i get a hard vibration and pulsation. I bleed the brakes and there's a few air bubbles. next session its fine half way and 2nd half it reoccurs and air is once again in the brake line.. technician onsite did a full full brake flush and didn't fix the issue. No signs of leaks anywhere along the lines. when I apply the brakes hard before a corner the lever doesn't sink to the end. it still has good pressure but the front end starts to chatter, pulse hard, and brakes become ineffective until I let off and re-apply less pressure.... This is only at the track when braking really hard. street riding has be fine so far.. I ride a 2003 R1
Could anything else apart from a bent disc cause the same symptoms? My disc is new and straight and it still behaving like it's warped. I've changed the wheel bearings, spindle and double cleaned and re seated everything.its as if the whole hub (spoked wheel) is oval shaped.the disc and sprocket both move when spinning the wheel.
Nice video. Say your rotor is doing the same thing in this test but there is no pulsating when applying the front brakes. Would a rotor change still need to be done?
Thank you. I wouldn't even be checking my rotors for warpage if I wasn't getting a pulsation. If it's minimal and doesn't give you noticeable rideability issues, then run it imo.

Thanks. Nothing beats a simple commonsense approach!
Thanks ,so simple with no "look at me" or bull.
Greetings from Scotland
thank you! trying to diagnose a bent disc or misaligned front wheel on a dirt bike- this worked great
Really helped me out tonight. Thanks man
Thank you. Thought this was my problem but was considering bringing it in for diagnosis since is too minimal to see without tricks and tips
That’s a cool video strait to the point it helped me thanks !

More than likely the side you clamped off has a bad caliper.

Lift bike, dial indicator, turn wheel to one side full lock, rotate wheel and check. Done.
thanks saved me alot of time fault finding :)
Apparently u can fix warped rotors with bit of scotchbrite/3M pad? Then brake cleaner to finish.
Thanks. Very helpful
Good video! Thank you !!❤️💯
Excellent! Thanks!

Will that cause high speed wobble?
Wheel not balanced correctly or DEATH WABBLE ON MOTORCYCLE. (RUclips IT)

Would that cause a wobble when slowing down
how can you fix it i have a problem same thing
Replace the disc
Does that cause the pulsing
I think I bent mine replacing the tires
