    I watched this when I first started playing in the 80’s and it was very confusing to me as a new player. I recently watched this again and wished I could have understood it back then. It’s a fantastic and informational education on all things drums.

    Had to put fresh heads on Gatzen's kit when I was at Berklee for a clinic of his. .. I was so nervous..

    I found this video on Google videos pre RUclips like 20 years ago. I still use these techniques today. I’m so glad I found it again.

    I just see this video, recomanded by one of my fav’s drummers Gavin Harrison, now i see Bob died last december, RIP, this video explaine a lot about tuning, thanks for that.

    Based on all the recent A/B analysis I’ve seen on RUclips regarding bass drum single ply vs. double ply heads, I’ve observed the opposite of what this video says: single ply = more attack and less woofy low end and double ply = less attack and more woofy low end

      I have this VHS, the cover says it's produced in 1994.
      It also displays so in the last seconds of the video :-)

      Yes it’s in the 90’s. Bob still owned Creative Music and I remember when this tutorial was being filmed.
