I agree, but I believe there is a place for both. I watch Jaman Burton because his Vlogs are incredibly entertaining, even if it’s not all about hands and analysis. However, I don’t really learn anything from Jaman, and that’s OK too. I learn tons from Lex for the reasons you mentioned.

Every poker vlogger I follow on YT has their own personal style/flavor, but I think the consensus here is that yours is one of the most relatable and to-the-point. The viewers who are the most engaged in your content are the ones who are gonna enjoy hearing you talk and be honest/up-front about your life off the felt, and the "crossover" stuff as well - like bankroll mgmt, off-felt study, poker income for new/aspiring pros, etc. You're one of the best poker channels imo!

They play reckless at times and make out of the norm plays to try and create massive pots and wins for the sake of creating content. I watch to advance my game, not my RUclips experience. I wouldn’t worry about not playing high enough stakes as other vlogs. I know I personally would watch someone play 1/2 because it’s entertaining content. The high dollar games don’t draw me to watching poker on RUclips. It’s usually the creators and I enjoy seeing the hands. Keep up the good work
I agree. I watched some other vlogs where they play higher and I couldn’t relate and honestly none of what they do applies my the games I play. The high stakes games are usually short handed and a lot more bluffy and they play a meta game more than the cards or anything else. For 99% of the people watching vlogs, that’s not relevant information. I don’t mind watching lower stakes as long as I can tell there is some thoughts that goes into it.

The stake size doesn’t matter but how you play (there’s a slight joke in there somewhere) I really enjoy your reasoning behind your plays and there’s not a lot of “punts” (like rampage) “folding is boring” . Don't get me wrong. I love Andrew Neeme, Brad Owen, Rampage, and Mariano. But their style of playing is now out of my league as well. I have a sizable bankroll, but am not willing to sit down with $5,000 at a poker table. Most I have bought in for is $1,000 and am willing to slowly go up from there. I really do enjoy watching you play the $1-3, $2-5 and $5-10 games. Those types of game structures are what the majority of us play. Don't underestimate yourself, Lex. Your content is not only entertaining but has given me a different way to think at the poker table. You have a great vlog and I plan on continuing to watch as long as you're willing to pump put this awesome content.
9:30 is a mandatory river lead imo. Small turn raises are (in my opinion) most often just people trying to take the betting lead so they can check back river and get to showdown cheaply, as opposed to real monsters like sets or better which would raise bigger. The river bringing in the flush isn't great, but I highly doubt he's raising turn with a flush draw, especially since we have the Qs which blocks many important pair + FD hands. For these reasons I expect to have the best hand basically 100% of the time on the river, but a lot of worse hands will just check back, so I would lead for 50% pot expecting to get paid almost every time, and if he raises it's a pretty clear fold.
I've read some of the comments and agree that you should play what you're comfortable playing. I think most of us don't care what size you play, we care about quality production, and that's exactly what you have!!!! Great session Lex. 👏 #RougeInTheHouse

I appreciate that you arnt playing huge games like the other guys. Most of us watching are just playing 1/2 anyway so the way you play in these games is much more relevant than a 50/100 game.

i lived in tampa for years. put in hundreds of hours at the tampa hard rock. Moved to Colorado last summer. The poker room is now about an hour away and no where near the same action. I always get a nice nostalgia watching your videos. thanks!

Thank you for the vlog! Your content is one of the best out there. I follow Brad, Andrew, Ashley, and Rampage too. Along with Brad, your content is the one I enjoy the most. It is realistic and it is something we can relate to. It's just about winning and losing but the thought process and the emotions involved, the poker life style and what it entails. I really enjoy how you explain how you approach and play each hand including pointing out your mistakes. I personally would not have found three streets of value with Aces or value bet the river on that last hand with AJ. I realize it's a weakness in my game but that's why I watch your vlog. I want to see how a better player thinks about these situations. On an other note, I think you could include a few details in each video about the cost of playing poker. How long was the drive to the casino, what is the rake in that poker room, what are the hourly comps, how much is the poker rate for hotel rooms if you are on the road, ...?
Bro that is good that you are staying in your lane so to speak. Your content is great regardless of how high the stakes are. Playing poker for a living is awesome....glad you are smart with your money....do not feel pressure to go into higher stakes until you are financially ready!

You easily have one of the best poker vlogs out, man. While rampage followers are some of my favorite people to play against because they think everybody should be trying multiple -ev bluffs/hour, your weekly content is much more fun to watch and your thought process breakdowns are actually applicable

Haven’t missed any of your uploads since your first vlog and I discovered you. By far my favorite vlogger. I love the informative content, and some of your tips and thoughts has helped me in some tricky situations and thought «what would Lex do?» and then remember what you said in a video about a similar spot. You might not be as witty as Brad Owen, or play as huge games as Rampage, but your content is just pure quality. I used to like Rampage, but his recent videos going from 5-10/10-20 to these ridiculous 100-200 games just seem so unreal. Keep on the grind and being wise with your bank roll! I wouldn’t worry about not playing high enough stakes as other vlogs. I know I personally would watch someone play 1/2 because it’s entertaining content. The high dollar games don’t draw me to watching poker on RUclips. It’s usually the creators and I enjoy seeing the hands. Keep up the good work
I agree. I watched some other vlogs where they play higher and I couldn’t relate and honestly none of what they do applies my the games I play. The high stakes games are usually short handed and a lot more bluffy and they play a meta game more than the cards or anything else. For 99% of the people watching vlogs, that’s not relevant information. I don’t mind watching lower stakes as long as I can tell there is some thoughts that goes into it.
Your vlog is one of my favorite, and moving up on my list quickly. I actually look for your content, and I always enjoy your commentary and thought process. If I see you at the tables sometime, I will come up and say hi.

Hey Lex appreciate your honesty in this vlog. I'll keep it real too, I look forward to your videos over the others. Sure it's fascinating to watch Rampage buyin for $150,000 but honestly 95% of poker players are just never going to be doing that. You play stakes that are reasonable and attainable for regs and recreational players alike. You are honest in your critiques of yourself which I appreciate as well. And you definitely show us the highs and lows. And the most important thing is you got Rogue and EVERYONE LOVES ROGUE!!! Keep up the good work buddy. Nice win.

Those other guys leave me scratching my head on some of their plays. I know you’ve said you do all your editing on your phone. I would love to see how that is done. I’ve only started following this year but you’re already one of my favourite vloggers. The stake size doesn’t matter but how you play (there’s a slight joke in there somewhere) I really enjoy your reasoning behind your plays and there’s not a lot of “punts” (like rampage) “folding is boring” . honestly I already consider you a top poker vlogger. I personally don't care what stakes you play I like your thought process and the way you explain your decisions. Keep doing what you are doing! No need to try and be like the others when you've gained the following you have by being you!

Don't get me wrong. I love Andrew Neeme, Brad Owen, Rampage, and Mariano. But their style of playing is now out of my league as well. I have a sizable bankroll, but am not willing to sit down with $5,000 at a poker table. Most I have bought in for is $1,000 and am willing to slowly go up from there. I really do enjoy watching you play the $1-3, $2-5 and $5-10 games. Those types of game structures are what the majority of us play. Don't underestimate yourself, Lex. Your content is not only entertaining but has given me a different way to think at the poker table. You have a great vlog and I plan on continuing to watch as long as you're willing to pump put this awesome content.
9:30 is a mandatory river lead imo. Small turn raises are (in my opinion) most often just people trying to take the betting lead so they can check back river and get to showdown cheaply, as opposed to real monsters like sets or better which would raise bigger. The river bringing in the flush isn't great, but I highly doubt he's raising turn with a flush draw, especially since we have the Qs which blocks many important pair + FD hands. For these reasons I expect to have the best hand basically 100% of the time on the river, but a lot of worse hands will just check back, so I would lead for 50% pot expecting to get paid almost every time, and if he raises it's a pretty clear fold.
I've read some of the comments and agree that you should play what you're comfortable playing. I think most of us don't care what size you play, we care about quality production, and that's exactly what you have!!!! Great session Lex. 👏 #RougeInTheHouse

I appreciate that you arnt playing huge games like the other guys. Most of us watching are just playing 1/2 anyway so the way you play in these games is much more relevant than a 50/100 game.

You are right about the AA hand. Betting the turn and blasting river was the right play.
i lived in tampa for years. put in hundreds of hours at the tampa hard rock. Moved to Colorado last summer. The poker room is now about an hour away and no where near the same action. I always get a nice nostalgia watching your videos. thanks!

Thank you for the vlog! Your content is one of the best out there. I follow Brad, Andrew, Ashley, and Rampage too. Along with Brad, your content is the one I enjoy the most. It is realistic and it is something we can relate to. It's just about winning and losing but the thought process and the emotions involved, the poker life style and what it entails. I really enjoy how you explain how you approach and play each hand including pointing out your mistakes. I personally would not have found three streets of value with Aces or value bet the river on that last hand with AJ. I realize it's a weakness in my game but that's why I watch your vlog. I want to see how a better player thinks about these situations.
On an other note, I think you could include a few details in each video about the cost of playing poker. How long was the drive to the casino, what is the rake in that poker room, what are the hourly comps, how much is the poker rate for hotel rooms if you are on the road, ...?
Bro that is good that you are staying in your lane so to speak. Your content is great regardless of how high the stakes are. Playing poker for a living is awesome....glad you are smart with your money....do not feel pressure to go into higher stakes until you are financially ready!

You easily have one of the best poker vlogs out, man. While rampage followers are some of my favorite people to play against because they think everybody should be trying multiple -ev bluffs/hour, your weekly content is much more fun to watch and your thought process breakdowns are actually applicable

Haven’t missed any of your uploads since your first vlog and I discovered you. By far my favorite vlogger. I love the informative content, and some of your tips and thoughts has helped me in some tricky situations and thought «what would Lex do?» and then remember what you said in a video about a similar spot. You might not be as witty as Brad Owen, or play as huge games as Rampage, but your content is just pure quality. I used to like Rampage, but his recent videos going from 5-10/10-20 to these ridiculous 100-200 games just seem so unreal. Keep on the grind and being wise with your bank roll! Lex I concur with comments below. As I've spoke to you I'm retired and enjoy playing at the 2/5 1K buy in. Love to have fun and compete against the regs at the Aria. Maybe I might start playing 5/10 but over the last 15 months I have broken even when you take out expenses. I get a lot out of your vlogs but if you play higher then like the afore mentioned bloggers when I watch it will be for more entertainment purposes. Hey man, i follow all the poker vloggers that you mentioned and i recently started following you as well. I don't really care if you play 2/5 or 25-50, honestly. Your videos are clean, well produced, informative, and thats what matters. Play within your bankroll man, whatever you're comfortable and is most profitable for you. Also, you got Rogue, none of the others got that so there's that!
