Upon reading the ancient Ryugu Poneglyph in Sea Forest, Nico Robin ponders about its meaning, noting it could be a letter of apology to the Fishmen. It was also revealed that Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King, wished he could have lived in the same era as Joy Boy upon learning the true history of the world at Laugh Tale. Both of these pieces of information lead fans to believe that Joy Boy was a prominent figure in the annals of history, despite the fact that confirmation of his existence has been continually suppressed by the Gorosei and World Government. Also noteworthy, is the idea that “Joy Boy” is not a person, but rather a mantle worn by whoever is attempting to liberate the world from oppression. This idea is further supported by King believing Kaido could be a Joy Boy-like figure, and Kaido losing the belief that Luffy could be Joy Boy. In chapter 1044, this theory was proven correct, as Zunesha announces that he can hear the “Drums of Liberation” once more, and proclaims Joy Boy has returned. These drums happen to coincide with Luffy’s heartbeat, and his Devil Fruit Awakening. Additionally, the chapter switches over to Gorosei’s perspective where it’s revealed that Luffy’s Devil Fruit is not the Gomu Gomu no Mi, but is actually a Mythical Zoan, the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika. The warrior who possesses Nika’s power is said to grant the user’s body unparalleled freedom, only being constrained by their imagination. Furthermore, this description coincides with the themes of the freedom woven throughout One Piece, as one of the Gorosei mentions that by putting smiles on the faces of those around him, the one who possesses the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika is “the embodiment of the warrior of liberation.” All of this information comes together to reveal two very important aspects of One Piece’s lore. Firstly, Luffy is not the reincarnation of Joy Boy, but rather it seems as if “Joy Boy” truly is just a title given to whoever holds the power to liberate the world. Secondly, that the Joy Boy of the past did indeed have the powers of the Hito Hito no Mi: Model Nika, as Zunesha, a centuries-old being associates the Awakening of this Devil Fruit with his long lost comrade’s presence. The reveal of Joy Boy’s true nature is one that falls in line with One Piece’s established narrative perfectly. Though some fans appeared worried that Luffy would turn out to be the reincarnation of Joyboy, this has turned out not to be the case. The use of the ancient Joy Boy’s existence only serves to amplify the themes of inherited will, as over 900 years later his will is still being carried on through Luffy and the Hito Hito no Mi itself. Though this massive reveal may have shaken the world of One Piece, there is still much to learn about the ancient Joyboy’s past and his connection to the World Government which has hunted his Devil Fruit for centuries.
Wow this island dwarfism actually adds even more credence to the one piece world being connected then moved and split by the red line especially with the futuristic civilization
15:41 I am surprised that it wasn't addressed but look at the marking on Oar's hand "SZ - 900" we know that those markings are of robots like the PXs and the Seraphins and that 900 yearss ago an ancient technolgocialy advanced cilivization existed + the -900 could be interpreted as 900 years before something
I like this idea, especially when you mentioned him pulling together the world and being portrayed as a villain by the world government. makes think about what vegapunk is on about in the most recent chapter.
the Large Strawhat in Marijois was Joy Boys hat. Joyboy was a Giant/Titan. which explains the Giant Boat in Fishman island. This also explains why elbaf holds significant importance to many who wants to know the past. It's joyboys former home.
Based on the Oars is Joyboy theory, I'm wondering if Joyboy turned all of the ancient giants into humans and their descendents are the ones with the D initial. The Nika fruit is only limited by imagination and it's a human human fruit so I'm sure it could turn giants into humans.
It has been shown to have the capability to turn other people's bodies rubbery when Luffy is fighting Kaido, so maybe the ancient giants could have been rubberized and then compressed? They'd be really dense though so I don't know if that idea tracks.
I don’t think we can assume the previous users used the fruit the same as Luffy. It’s based on the users imagination so I think it’s totally possible a previous user could have had completely different “paramecia” properties while using the same fruit.
Will of D may refer to the will of the civilisation which resided on the last island : Raftel or Laugh Tale as u may know. D may refer to the name of the name kingdom which was on the raftel, which may be was named DAWN and the people who resided their after their defeat spread to the world and as a symbol of connection started using D in their names. It was already explained, in the battle against Moria and Oars, that Oars stretching limbs are not because of Luffy's shadow, it was because Moria was manipulating the shadow to change shape, hence why Oars can stretch.

Zunesha was so happy feeling a familiar presence within Monkey D. Luffy when he turned into Sun God: Nika. Luffys shadow in oars followed a pattern, that Moria knew: For a specific time, the persons shadow personality is dominant and won't listen to Morias orders. After a while the personality starts to break apart. First the shadow follows Morias orders and forget's more and more who is was and the old personality get's slowly more dominant. Love Oda for providing such a magnificent story that we can delve into theories and conspiracies. In regards to the possible great flood, how many structures have we seen in the OP world that exist now underwater? We just saw in Wano that the original Wano is under water and we only see a fraction of what it used to be. We see this trope in Adventure Time, LoZ Windwaker, etc. Emu for sure has the power to terraform as seen with his response to Sabo leaking information. I think we will be able to tie a lot of these theories together during the Egghead arc and when Princess Vivi re-emerges!
Moria clearly explains how he's able to make Oars stretch using just the shadow powers. It's not like Moria can replicate fire or lightning abilities using shadows
The Onigashima skull being joy boy would also make sense in an epic sense when you realize two contenders (one real one fake) for being the next joy boy, fought on top of it. There might be something to do with why Kaido wanted to place it on top of the capital, too, like involving transformation? That anime opening was weird.
Congrats Ohara you got me hooked within 5 sec😂. You are improving massively 👏👏👏 Absolutely amazing Ohara just finished the video🤩🤩 Keep up the awesome theories🤯
It’s also possible that joyboy wasn’t a giant at all. Yes we saw that huge frozen straw hat IMU was looking at, but we’ve also seen Luffys normal size strawhat become gigantic with the rest of his clothes/body during his fight with kaido. Considering joyboy likely had the same fruit he’d have the same ability to grow large like that.
Wait if we see like that the episodes where fisherman island ended there was that giant thing right and when that goel went in luffys body luffy got her horns of her helmet this might be a hint
‘Otherwise Moria has one of the most powerful fruits’ That point was clearly made. The reason Moria is not strong is because he’s lazy and Kaido broke his will.

Oars actually has his left eye and no right eye. This is very rare in one piece as characters usually close/hide their left eye and show their right. This may be a hint linking him to the ancient kingdom as well. Thanks so much for the video! I love all the theories you share!
@@renziie2804 basically the ancient kingdom is thought to be an island in the shape of a skull. The jaw is Jaya, and the land blasted up into sky island is the top part of the skull. The ancient gold city in sky island is thought to be the right eye. But the left eye section of the skull is still missing. A lot of characters hide their left eye and show the right, kind of paralleling this. There is a theory that the left eye is another city of the ancient kingdom, and is the final island laugh tale. So for Oars, instead of his left eye being hidden and right eye present, it’s the opposite. So maybe it’s a hint that he’s related to the missing city/final island.
@@renziie2804 He's saying the island is shaped like a skull not that the island is actually oars skull lol Since the missing eye of the island is the same as the eye oars is missing some people theorized that the missing eye is Raftel and Oars is linked to that island.
With this theory I wonder if the ancient civilization doesn’t exist anymore because it used to one giant island that was split into all these islands when this world was manufactured as speculated in the video.
Alright, So I've just finished rewatching the whole thriller bark ark today. And I need to say that a few of the information of this theory is not totally right. Oars personality being alike to luffy's even after Moriah got complete control, was due to the shadow's quality. Brook explains that the shadow is the other side of a person's soul, and further on, Lola mention that Luffy's soul is exceptionally resilient and strong (being able to take control of 100 shadows without losing personality) The other point that needs some correction, is about Moriah's power. I won't deny the chance of Oars being the previous user of the gomu gomu no mi, but the explanation that was given, is that the body and shadow will always keep the same shape. Since Moriah can alter the shape of the shadow at will, so the main body will follow. His devil fruit cannot copy other's fruits powers.. what he was doing was merely improvising for Oars/luffy combat style.
I’m not really sure how I feel about that ending, but the previous joy boy being a member of the ancient giant makes A LOT of sense. Thriller Bark is an arc with many foreshadows, and Oars getting the shadow of the current Joy Boy could be one of them. I also like the flood part of the video. If it happened in Wano, why wouldn’t it happen everywhere? It makes a lot of sense.
IF YOU look closely at 4:08 the zoomed out pic of Oars on his arm it says SZ- 800 is that like a hint about him being related to joyboy 800 years ago but directly the scene after 4:08 his arm says SZ- 900 so idk
Usually i agree with his theories but tbh this one was too far fetched. The whole “oars wearing a straw hat” thingy was explained by having luffy’s shadow and due to his strong will. To assume that it seems too “familiar” to oars is not the case. I do agree that joyboy was a giant tho but this theory is meh
Idk I’m watching it rn and I don’t think luffy has ever shown any interest in always having a hat or even wearing a hat make you a cool pirate. He seems to literally only care about the hat as emotional value on not really care about headwear per say
Wano does sound a bit like "One", and we know Oda likes wordplay. This could relate to the idea of wano initially being multiple islands brought together.
would also make sense because in some theories, luffy is supposed to bring the whole world together and unite them, bringing even the fishman to the surface. my guess is that joyboy knew he wouldnt be able to come back to fishman island to bring them to the wano he built due to some circumstances? would at least explain, why it is written into a poneglyph, a stone that is used IN WANO to leave messages for the whole world behind. oars/joyboy could've taught them how to do this, so the people of wano can spread them across the world in order to leave a guidance behind when he himself gets reborn.
if the owner of the original body got taken over by someone’s shadow that has a devil fruit imagine if because ryuma was dead it gave his soul a chance to find his body and potentially come back into the show as half a corpse with the same devil fruit as brooke
If Laughtale is supposed to be the last island on the grandline, wouldn´t that place it almost exactly opposite of Enis Lobby etc.? Could there be a hollow earth scenario?
It would be exactly opposite of Whiskey Peak or at most Alabasta. I think it's under Reverse Mountain, placing it directly opposite to Mariejois and Fishman Island.
19:16 you could look at it like this; there was a age of gods and heros, followed by a age if tech, at the end of which a oppressive world government rose only to be opposed by a hero joyboy (the last dependent trope), finnaly we have a age of revival where the inheritors of the will see trying to return to the age of heros.
18:10 Somehow I remember enormous Florian Triangle silhouettes. Could those be robots as well? Also, I can vividly recall a frame depicting a ship heading towards some gigantic robot with three long legs, yet I'm not sure if it's from canonical One Piece or not. The point is, the world of One Piece is still full of oversized mysteries :D
I said this I knew minus oars being joboy I always thought he was much to weak to be someone who Moria legit thought could beat kiado and the reason is he was oars son who died young and they just mistook him for his father the original oars
Moria's giant was looking for the hat because of Luffy's shadow. One of Luffy's natural reactions is to first look for his hat, and since the zombies possessed by a shadow inherit the core personality of the shadow's owner that was an expected reaction.
Hmm idk that doesn't hold up to me, bc why didn't zoros zombie panic and start looking for zoros sword? I think zombie oars looking for a strawhat can be explained by the joyboy shadow of the df Joyboy probably originally had a strawhat
Also keep in mind that some dfs have minds of their own too When moria took luffys shadow he basically took 2 shadows instead of one. Luffys shadow wanted to be the rotten king of pirates And the hito hito no mi wanted the strawhat Thats how im looking at it at least, given that theres a gigantic strawhat at the holy land i think it was joyboys strawhat originally
When it comes to Uranus, there is a theory going around that the weapon itself may be a giant cloud that causes heavy rain fall and can darken the sky immensely. You could think of it to be similar to what the sky looks like when Shenron is being summoned in Dragon Ball Z but on a whole other level since it is an ancient weapon. Joyboy may have also been the one to ride the cloud, however, the cloud is an ancient weapon that could get out of hand hence the anti-Uranus blueprints were made. Also, the relation between Sun Wukong and Luffy could mean that in the same way Sun Wukong had his cloud, Luffy will have his own cloud as well. This ties in with what @Ohara said with Uranus possibly being a weapon used against the World Government. However, the theory itself goes that the water that is trapped within the borders of Wano is actually the cloud itself that has been forced into that state. In addition, the volcano in Wano may be the blueprint for the anti-Uranus which counters the actual ancient weapon should it become too out of hand. Dance powder is also something that was mentioned many chapters ago and this is something that can force rainfall in a particular area through the use of forcing the clouds in the surrounding area to rain down. In addition, it is said that Wano had an immense rainfall as well. So, it is theorized that the material for dance powder may be under the volcano in Wano (or a lot was just put in there) and it was erupted into the sky which caused Uranus to rain down so much that the cloud itself ceased to exist hence becoming just the water that is trapped within the borders of Wano. Also, opening Wano's borders first means that the water that is there would be the first thing to be released. Would it not be in Oda fashion to make it so obvious that the first thing to be released is actually the ancient weapon aka the water? Edit: Also, it was stated that the water is keeping old Wano very preserved. This means that the water clearly has some special properties to it. It also relates to the Uranus mythology but I forget exactly how that fitted in with the theory. I believe it had something to do with life/death hence the preservation of old Wano.

Just a comment: Oars body isn't made out of rubber. He actually tried to fight using Luffy's style and his punches never reached his targets until Moria actively decided to manipulate Oar's shadow to copy them.
There was an anime called the god of high school. In that anime we keep hearing about someone being the 'key'. We all assumed that this key was the main character, but later on he wasn't the key. He was even more powerful than that. If this happens to be the case with luffy being joyboy, it will be the greatest plot twist in anime history
I believe it. If a giant was Joyboy, he could manipulate his own size to become smaller and be the same size as the people of the world or anyone he desired
all of these are just solid proof how insanely Oda structured this story. I guess he's like vegapunk with that big head and having 6 other bodies. what a guy

Good job in predicting the flood at 16:40 ❤
I like this idea, especially when you mentioned him pulling together the world and being portrayed as a villain by the world government. makes think about what vegapunk is on about in the most recent chapter.

I love how he just predicted vegeapunks message a year before vegeapunk said the world was flooded
Damn, I was just about to make my next Oars is Joyboy video this week…
Love your videos💚
the Large Strawhat in Marijois was Joy Boys hat.
Good theory.
It has been shown to have the capability to turn other people's bodies rubbery when Luffy is fighting Kaido, so maybe the ancient giants could have been rubberized and then compressed? They'd be really dense though so I don't know if that idea tracks.
That could be taking from Norse Mythology actually, based on the Myth that giants are shapeshifters
To denote that they were part of the ancient kingdom.
16:10 is an incredible prediction which proved correct recently(4 manga chapters ago from today probably)

At 2:57 you can see luffy as the Sun God Nika. Gecko Moria is holding Luffy.
It was already explained, in the battle against Moria and Oars, that Oars stretching limbs are not because of Luffy's shadow, it was because Moria was manipulating the shadow to change shape, hence why Oars can stretch.
You missed the point. That explanation is flimsy. Either Moria's ability is insane, or Oars body is rather rubbery
when Oars was fighting luffy's crew without Moria, he "felt" like he "should" stretch, but he could not. so Oars' body being rubbery doesn't hold.
@@electrokineticphenomenon8800 the anime n manga literally said that it was moria who manipulate the shadow.
the true body must follow the shape of the shadow, its one of moria df ability. thats why moria manipulate oars shadow to mimick rubber characteristic n copy luffy fighting style, since he already fought luffy before n got decent informantion that is why oars gomu attack pretty basic compared to luffy.
there is no such thing as oars body is rubbery, its rock solid.
if u still dont get that is how it work, then when robin, zoro, sanji n luffy body almost desintegrate because of the sun, it turn back to normal when their shadow comeback
@@FayN_ while I understand what you are saying, it could just be that Moria specifically stole Luffy's shadow for Oars because Oars historically had the gum g fruit, and having Luffy's shadow in there would increase the affinity regarding it. Heck, he might have been hoping the devil fruit powers transfered so he didn't have to control the shadow, but had to during the fight because strong people showed up.
@@derpfluidvariant0916 didnt he just stole luffy shadow n use it on oars because luffy literally has the highest bounty in the crew?
Luffy is the strongest he meet in such a long time after all.
There is no such thing as he knows oars using df or something.
Oars copy luffy fighting style cuz shadow has faint memory of original body, so he is more familiar n used to luffy fighting style.
Its as simple as that.
U cant transfer df to dead body, mayve u can do it in inanimate object but oars isnt object. N feat like that only vega or kurohige know how to do it if its even exist.
It seems that oars is joyboy theory blinded people with this obvious fact.
The manga panel where Moria holds luffys shadow and presents oars,I don’t know if you noticed it but the shadow of Luffy looks exactly like the Iconic Nika silhouette 😮
Brooo
Zunesha was so happy feeling a familiar presence within Monkey D. Luffy when he turned into Sun God: Nika. If Joy Boy did build the original Wano that is submerged in the sea waters and probably put the trust to maintain the country alive to the Kozuki Clan so Toki could met them, which she did with Oden.
BTW HE FORGOT THAT IN ONE OF THE ARC THERE WAS A HIDDEN ISLAND NOW IN THAT HIDDEN ISLAND THERE WAS DRAGONS THAT COULD HEAL THE SKIN AND MAKE SOMEONE YOUNGER SO. YEAH I HOPE HE WILL TELL US ABOUT THAT BECAUSE IF HE SAY.SUNKEN,THE HIDDEN ISLAND WITH DRAGON EGGS WAS ALSO. SUNKEN 😮

Oarz at Thriller Bark using Gomu Gomu no mi attacks... before Moria manipulated the shadow, he was not capable to do so.
But as usual u really research damn good.

18:27 Uranus has the power to destroy worlds and is named after the god of the skies.... Uranus is the Death Star confirmed
It is a scam pls don't do that.

Absolutely amazing Ohara just finished the video🤩🤩 Keep up the awesome theories🤯
Lol damn
And here we are just 1 week more until Joyboy returns
Manze
It’s also possible that joyboy wasn’t a giant at all. Yes we saw that huge frozen straw hat IMU was looking at, but we’ve also seen Luffys normal size strawhat become gigantic with the rest of his clothes/body during his fight with kaido. Considering joyboy likely had the same fruit he’d have the same ability to grow large like that.
Wait if we see like that the episodes where fisherman island ended there was that giant thing right and when that goel went in luffys body luffy got her horns of her helmet this might be a hint
‘Otherwise Moria has one of the most powerful fruits’
That point was clearly made. The reason Moria is not strong is because he’s lazy and Kaido broke his will.
Bro understood nothing of Moria's devil fruit 💀
So exited when I see you upload. Thanks for being my new favorite RUclipsr

Ace also made a strawhat for Little Oars Jr, which he said he learned how to do in Wano.

Oars actually has his left eye and no right eye. This is very rare in one piece as characters usually close/hide their left eye and show their right. This may be a hint linking him to the ancient kingdom as well.
Thanks so much for the video! I love all the theories you share!
wait how does having one eye missing link him to the ancient kingdom????????
@@cameronito1413 I know of that theory.... but it cant work lol cos oars skull for one isnt as big as that island and oars STILL has his skull intact
@@renziie2804 He's saying the island is shaped like a skull not that the island is actually oars skull lol Since the missing eye of the island is the same as the eye oars is missing some people theorized that the missing eye is Raftel and Oars is linked to that island.
@@253SmokemAll I know what he was saying lol... Oars missing an eye and the skull missing an eye I doubt are linked regardless
Just got a new phone glad your back in my RUclips feed. Your vid’s never disappoint, thanks for all the audio content.
Brook explains that the shadow is the other side of a person's soul, and further on, Lola mention that Luffy's soul is exceptionally resilient and strong (being able to take control of 100 shadows without losing personality)
The other point that needs some correction, is about Moriah's power.
7:00 I just noticed how luffys shadow has the nika like pose lol
Dudeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
U have mastered Advanced Observation Haki
I love your theory bro I already subscribed
I’m not really sure how I feel about that ending, but the previous joy boy being a member of the ancient giant makes A LOT of sense. Thriller Bark is an arc with many foreshadows, and Oars getting the shadow of the current Joy Boy could be one of them. I also like the flood part of the video. If it happened in Wano, why wouldn’t it happen everywhere? It makes a lot of sense.
Did anyone peep luffy's shadow in 4:46, it looks like to iconic sun god nika pose, might be just a coincidence.

Nice work on the Trash Taste Special Manu, and thanks for another good long One Piece Theory video to watch!
Ohara really out here every week after every chapter like "this theory gonna change One Piece forever, y'all"
IF YOU look closely at 4:08 the zoomed out pic of Oars on his arm it says SZ- 800 is that like a hint about him being related to joyboy 800 years ago but directly the scene after 4:08 his arm says SZ- 900 so idk
What if Oars SZ-800 SZ-900 are robots , if you look its inside Oars are like a robot control room 🤔, based on new chapter it could be old technology
He seems to literally only care about the hat as emotional value on not really care about headwear per say
if oars awakened his fruit his body would probably stay rubber after death like how punk hazard was permantly changed from awakenings.
Wano does sound a bit like "One", and we know Oda likes wordplay. This could relate to the idea of wano initially being multiple islands brought together.
would also make sense because in some theories, luffy is supposed to bring the whole world together and unite them, bringing even the fishman to the surface. my guess is that joyboy knew he wouldnt be able to come back to fishman island to bring them to the wano he built due to some circumstances? would at least explain, why it is written into a poneglyph, a stone that is used IN WANO to leave messages for the whole world behind. oars/joyboy could've taught them how to do this, so the people of wano can spread them across the world in order to leave a guidance behind when he himself gets reborn.
wano literally means japan bro...
Did anyone notice at 13:15 Luffys shadow was moving like joyboy in morias hand
if the owner of the original body got taken over by someone’s shadow that has a devil fruit imagine if because ryuma was dead it gave his soul a chance to find his body and potentially come back into the show as half a corpse with the same devil fruit as brooke
That skull theory is insane asf
If Laughtale is supposed to be the last island on the grandline, wouldn´t that place it almost exactly opposite of Enis Lobby etc.? Could there be a hollow earth scenario?
under water. inside an island whale
It would be exactly opposite of Whiskey Peak or at most Alabasta. I think it's under Reverse Mountain, placing it directly opposite to Mariejois and Fishman Island.
hollow earth is how shanks got from the new world to marineford so fast
@@Bighomie39 or Time Travel?
Actually loadstar is the last island on the grandline since laughtale, is hidden.
Look at Luffy's Shadow's pose in that Oars frozen in ice panel.
I think you might be onto something.
Love your vids!!
Moria's giant was looking for the hat because of Luffy's shadow. One of Luffy's natural reactions is to first look for his hat, and since the zombies possessed by a shadow inherit the core personality of the shadow's owner that was an expected reaction.
Yeah sometimes we should just wait for the reveal.. because when dumb points like this come up it’s kind of too much reaching lol
@@ykucb agreed
! Congrats. You are among my amazing winners…..
Hmm idk that doesn't hold up to me, bc why didn't zoros zombie panic and start looking for zoros sword?
I think zombie oars looking for a strawhat can be explained by the joyboy shadow of the df
Joyboy probably originally had a strawhat
Also keep in mind that some dfs have minds of their own too
When moria took luffys shadow he basically took 2 shadows instead of one.
Luffys shadow wanted to be the rotten king of pirates
And the hito hito no mi wanted the strawhat
Thats how im looking at it at least, given that theres a gigantic strawhat at the holy land i think it was joyboys strawhat originally
I thought Toki said her parents were from Wano. So it did exist previously.
if oars was actually joy boy, this would cancel the fact that joy boy had the nika fruit, because he was unfumiliar with its power in thriller bark
A lot of things were happening 500 years ago🙆🏿♂️. From Noland, Ryuma, to Oars. I feel like there's an eventual flashback we gonna get regarding 500 years ago.
