It's still a practical, nice car with little fuel consumption and good price.
Great review! I have the GL manual. I have had excellent experience with it over the past 6 months. There's everything I need in this car. It cruises nicely and feels safe and solid at 120. I average 4,9 on the freeway and 5,2 urban, although it was 5,9 in the beginning. R700 for full tank and it goes 600km. MrHowMuch is right...if you're thinking about it, go ahead.
I love this little car. So much features for such a great price. Makes the Polo seem so ridiculously overpriced. Also, I don't even know why people buy small SUVs. They're so unnecessary. SUVs don't handle well and use more fuel. Anyway, what I like so much about the Baleno GLX is the LED lights. It makes a massive difference to night time driving. The surround view camera is also such a great feature. It's also so much better value than the Toyota Starlet clone. I can't express how much I like this little car. If only it had a small capacity turbo engine which is so nice on the highway since they rev lower and a turbo makes it feel better when overtaking. But at least it's a 1.5 and not a 1 litre or 1.2
The auto is a torque converter. Its set up to run similar to its manual sibling and also runs at 3000rpm at 120km/hr. Its fuel consumption in city reaches about 7.1. its not slow either. Performs quite well for a 4 speed. Suzuki has tuned it to adjust to your driving style. It will shift up earlier at lower rpms when it detects throttle input for low speed driving. It holds rpm longer when throttle input is for high speed paced driving. This automatically adjusts the fuel efficiency. Great tuning on suzukis end!

The engine power is really worrisome, you might consider it as a car for local trips until you can ever afford something to go JHB to CPT cause this one is not make sure
To point out one thing, for you to also get great fuel economy and the maximum performance of the car it is better to use 95 unleaded petrol rather than 93 since 95 is more stable and it reduces the risk of igniting, allowing better performance and efficiency, so currently if you use 93 and averaging 6l/100km you can easy get a lower figure of 5,7l/100km using 95 unleaded.
