Removing mold from a Tent Trailers vinyl fabric

  • I found Starbrite removed the mildew and mold from my tent trailer's bunk ends (interior vinyl fabric). I don't work for or have any association with the company but was impressed enough with the product to do this video. The product (Starbrite) met my expectations and gave me the mold free results I was looking for. Starbrite is an American company, but they do sell it here in Canada at some retail stores ( e.g. Canadian Tire). Take note, you may also need to purchase a cover sheet to protect the areas where the spray is to be applied. The tutorial shows my steps taken from start to finish.

    I'm super happy that I found your video. I'd tried just about every mildew/mold removing product that I could find, but, none of them made a dent in the light stains we had at one end of our Jayco 1007. Then I tried the Starbrite product. It worked like a charm. Took less than half an hour to bring the trailer back to 'like new' condition. Thanks a lot for the info.

      Before doing this video, it appeared to be a limited field of discovery for trailer mold solutions on You Tube. Many of the videos I watched didn't seem to answer my questions or provide me (the Great White North Canadian) with alternative products that could be purchased in Canada. This video was my way of paying it forward to others with the same trailer mold issues. Thanks for your comment Eric :)

      I know just how you felt. When my wife and I would go camping, we of course slept in the bunk end, and in the morning while still in bed, we would always look up on the ceiling and see the mold. The mold seemed to get worse as time went by and eventually started to migrate across the vinyl. I'm just glad it's cleaned up. Thanks for your validation Kari : o )

    • @brianarsenault9281

      The concern I would have; spray 9 wasn't specifically designed with canvas/vinyl in mind, which may suggest chemicals in its contents that maybe too aggressive.

      @brianarsenault9281  3 года назад

      I'm glad the tutorial was useful. In regards to applying waterproofing in the interior, this I did not do. I would imagine though, that while someone is sleeping, moisture from the exhalation of their breath may accumulate in the bunk-end which could over time lead to a reoccurrence of the mold.

    Hi , Brian , thank you for the video , how many bottles of starbrite did you end up using . I hve some of it on my side windows too that is fabric , you think starbrite would be ok on fabric too it seems the bottle says its ok to use

    • @brianarsenault9281
      @brianarsenault9281  2 года назад

      When I used the product (Starbrite) I primarily used it to clean the mold from my trailer's vinyl underside (interior) of the bunk ends. Note! I was careful not to use the product Starbrite on the manufacturer's Sunbrella (a spray used on the exterior canvas fabric which has similarities to scotch guard - breathable, UV rated, water, mildew and stain resistant). I would suggest using the product (Starbrite) on an inconspicuous piece of your canvas and observe the results. Hope that helps : o )
