Ford invested $1 billion in Chicago Assembly and Stamping plants and added 500 jobs to expand capacity for the production of all-new Ford Explorer, Explorer Hybrid, Police Interceptor Utility and Lincoln Aviator
Ford is increasing its use of advanced manufacturing technologies as part of a plan to deliver high-quality vehicles to customers even more efficiently
The company invested $40 million to make the Chicago Assembly and Stamping plants better places to work for employees; upgrades include new LED lighting, bathroom and cafeteria updates, new break areas and parking lot security improvements
Ford builds more vehicles in the U.S. and employs more U.S. hourly workers than any other automaker

I still driving my 98 explorer. I had to fix and patch it along the way but I love it as if it were brand new. I wish I could afford a new one but that'll never happen but thank you ford for making a great truck. If you happen to have one sitting around not being used, I could sure use it. No one will drive it with more pride than I, thanks!
I have my 2nd gen too. Love it! She always starts on first crank unlike the Blazers lol.

I have been testing driving these cars for ford. And they are alright, time will tell.
Over 250,000 on my current Explorer and still running fantastic. Will be checking these out as well! Glad they've gone back to rear-wheel drive, etc. : )

The things with robots is that they're great for the welds, but other things do need a human touch

Imagine how much pressure the contractors and work crews were under while refitting that entire plant to produce a new platform, everything has a deadline.
And they messed it up, which resulted in recalls.

Just bought a Platinum, wow nice vehicle, and Great acceleration!!! Wife loves it, comfortable seats, and gets average MPG around 23. My only wish is that the Normal and Eco displays looked like the Trail, or Sport mode with dual dials.

I have owned 2 Ford vehicles and one was a 1996 Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition, the other one was a 2000 Ford Escort SE. Both broke more than one flexplate. The Explorer was the worst it broke 5 flexplate in three years. I ended up loosing that vehicle to a tow yard because of the flexplates breaking. The Escort broke one, bent a replacement one, and the one I heat tempered and installed myself never broke but the ignition switch caught fire while was parked and burned the dash,steering column and interior. So now I don't have a vehicle, I don't think I will buy a Ford because now one reimburses me when the vehicle fails from manufacturers defects.
Learn how to properly maintain your vehicles, & parts won't break. I've owned 5 Ford's, & 3 Mercury's....zero flexplate breakage. Never was stranded on the side of the road, & never on a tow truck...because I followed the maintenance schedule properly. I still have a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis with 190,000+ miles on it. I've kept the maintenance up to date, and never been stranded or on a tow truck. My other car is a 2017 Explorer & never had any rattles, or issues. Point is: maintain your cars & don't skip when it's time for maintenance.

Explorer 2020 is a good car
Ótima linha de produção, o que falta e almentar a rapidez a quantidade e principalmente doubrar detalhar mas ainda os modelos, e principalmente vender mas barato , e ganhar não em unidades mas sim em quantidade , e nunca esquecer da propaganda pois ela que trás o retorno esperado, detalhe mas os modelos pois que produz e a robótica somente a lataria .
Great production line, what lack and speed increase the quantity and mainly doubrar detail but still the models, and mainly sell cheaper, and win not in units but in quantity, and never forget the advertisement because she who brings the return expected, detail but the models as it produces and the robotics only the bodywork.

Very professional operation. Very high tech. My only criticism is with such a professional environment, why do the workers just wear anything they want? It looks so unprofessional and does add a feeling of unity making a product. Why not some kind of Ford uniform comfort wear? I know it’s unionized but it would look so much more of a professional production instead of home relax wear.

Nice video! But what really surprised me was that all the structures, even those heavy bridges (5:18), ended up in the trash bin rather than being reused.
The steel gets recycled, where I worked the steel was dumped in gondola railcars and sent to a scrapyard somewhere. It doesn't go in a landfill.
That wasn't trash. That was recycled.

Is it still true not to get a car assembled on Monday or Friday? Best cars around suppose to be on Wednesday! It is hump day and workers are happy and do not have an hangover from the weekend or Monday night football drinking!
