The entrance near the food court was the model for the Quahog Mall on Family Guy, right down to the statue of Neptune (Poseidon?) just outside the doors. It's not overflowing with business but it's far from dying. It's doing way better than the much more upscale Providence Place Mall.

In my opinion, the Warwick Malls's a shell of it's former self, because it's all clothing & jewelry stores, when 10 years ago there was GameStop, Newport Creamery, Burger King, and Splash at Jordan's Furniture
Last comment I swear you should see the boulevard Mall out here in Amherst New York it's like this mall design wise but almost everything is closed with the exception of maybe three or four stores...
@@theconfusingwords if you ever do it let me know I could probably show you a few spots if you were in the area even make a day out of it the boulevard Mall is on its last legs and we used to have the summit Park Mall out here it's closed down now completely except for a fun center on one end.. Downtown Niagara Falls had a mall but it's completely gutted out now... There's a lot of stuff out here that's interesting a lot of it's boring too but there's still a lot of history out here...
The main reason this mall has managed to stay alive and even flourush is because they took all the stores, business, and traffic from the former neighboring Rhode Island/Midland mall, which closed down in 2011. The anhcor stores of the RI Mall (now known as the Midland Commons) still exists, but the interior two story concourse has been sealed off and torn down, and what wasn't added to the anchors is mostly used for storage now.
I went to this mall about a year ago, for the first time in probably 15 years, and I was pleasantly surprised! They got what you need and they’re keeping up with it pretty well. That whole strip has literally everything you need. I like the new garden city plaza down the road from there too.
I really do like this whole strip as far as shopping. It’s everything you need right along there and some good restaurants. I used to live out here about 10 years ago. I never went to Providence and always went here. I’ll have to check out Garden City Plaza! Is that the place in Cranston?
@TheConfusingWords Hey there! 38 yr old RI native here. My top 3 malls were probably Warwick, Silver city Galleria and my fave was Emerald Square mall! Idk why i liked Emerald so much, probably because it was surrounded by treeline that matched it’s green signs & accents. Emerald square just felt Cozy🥰. I still remember going to these places with all my friends after first getting my liscence.
The mall was completely flooded out in 2010 and was reborn. It is certainly a staple of RI. I lived here all my life and have come to this mall since. As a teen we would hang out at the arcade (Aladdin's Castle) Good times. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you! I’m so happy to be healed up and back to filming!! It was a rough surgery and just had to drive 7 hours to get a new car this week it’s been a crazy few weeks but I’m happy to be back! I’m working way less now so actually have time to film now
@@theconfusingwords thanks! I know you definitely grabbed some Auntie Annes before u left here lol! Impossible to go to a mall without it. Thats wild, well I'm glad you're able to get back to filming! Just celebrated my 30th the past couple wkds. Its nice to have a lil break ha
Macy's moved at least once in 2006. Macy's originally occupied the former Jordan Marsh space, which Macy's acquired Jordan Marsh in 1995, then with the Federated-May merger in 2006, moved to the former G. Fox/Filene's space. Target and Sports Authority took the former Jordan Marsh space in 2009. Jordan's was originally Caldor, then became Old Navy in 1999 when Caldor liquidated. The food court was added in 1990, after original anchor Peerless went bankrupt.
Hi the confusing words you should go check out the hampshire mall again in hadley it was just sold recently so not sure if they are keeping the mall open or if they will be closing that mall in the near future
Have you ever noticed that Subway seems to have an unpleasant odor coming from it? I can't even place what it is but its disgusting. Interesting to see a Jordan's Furniture in a mall. Great to see you back making videos. Enjoy your summer.
Subways have a smell that is sooo bad. I can’t imagine working at one or near one. lol. Jordan’s furniture is moving into malls now! Which is surprising! And I hope you’re having an amazing summer too! Thank you ☺️
@TheConfusingWords oh and Dentists suckkkk. Make sure you get not just 2 but 3 opinions. I went to 2 to get bone graft surgery estimates. 2 said $40,000 up front, no insurance! The 3rd said $9,000….in 4 payments & insurance coverage!!! So $40k is a big diff versus $9k! Too many greedy people in the medical/dental field
Dental field is honestly the worst because the fact that dental work isn’t covered under regular health insurance is crazy to me. It is directly health related. Teeth should not be considered luxury bones! And yeah that’s a massive difference!! I’m glad you shopped around!

Yeah I'm liking this actually seeing people in a mall it's kind of a sad thing to see some of these malls in decay especially out here...
Right?! This one actually had some life in it for a change. And on a weekday!!!

19:14 Golf Galaxy was Sports Authority until 2016 when all their locations closed
Omg thank you! I don’t know why I couldn’t remember. That’s right!
I loved going in there when I was little, and it's still a nice little area to get away from the crowds.
Yes I'm excited to see this video!
Awesome!! This is a pretty interesting one!! ☺️

R.I.P Silver City Gallera
You should see it now, it’s completely dead
Emerald Square was my absolute favorite childhood mall!! I actually don’t know if I’ve been to silver city galleria. Is it still open? Where is it?

That is so interesting! I never knew all of that history, it's fascinating how malls evolve. Thank you for sharing ☺️
21:14 - Apple Cinemas was Showcase Cinemas until 2021 when it closed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic

You spelled BOOGEYMAN-19 and Pretendemic wrong...

That ruined too many retail landscapes it’s horrible aftermath really did a lot of places in!
@ It sure did
I think before sports authority it was Jordan Marsh
Oh wow! I don’t think I ever went to the mall when it had that

I love your mall videos I just subscribed to your channel I was just wondering how tall are you an I love the Pokémon videos
Awww thanks so much! I just put out a new Pokémon video! I am only 4’ 11” 😆
This mall used to be a lot busier and had much better stores i still go here atleast once a month
I remember when it used to be better! I first came here back in around 2011ish!

Yes!!! Finally getting back out there!! Lol
No more Newport Creamery in there sadly.
Nooo!! What a bummer 🥺
It got flooded the remodeled it. I worked on the job. I think it was 07.
Wow that’s crazy you got to work on the job remodeling it?! I went here for the first time in around 2011 so I never saw it before.
