    • @apropo0
      @apropo0 7 лет назад

      HEhe... perhaps not a coup in the literal sense. Certainly nothing like what happened to the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende. Perhaps Klein used the term figuratively or metaphorically.
      What would her party affiliation or political bent have to do with frame of reference w/r/t a coup? Are you familiar with any of Klein's writing?

    They mention new rules that would impede workers from organizing, environmental protections, etc., etc. You do realize people, that you don't have to follow those rules. The founders of this nation ignored the rules of their government at the time (as a colony of England). We can do the same.

    and the GOP has proven for decades that they know how to FUCK America in the ass and still get enough idiots to keep voting for them. These MORONS continue to fail to notice that the GOP basically shut down Obama's last 6 years and that all the GOPtards who think things are bad are the ones who made it bad: the GOP had the house for 18 of the past 22 years, the senate 14 of those years and held both and the presidency all at once 6 of those years (the Dems only for 2 measly years) and need I mention that before the most recent generation of screwing over America, that they had Reagan & Bush #1 for 12 years in a row. The GOP voter couldn't be any stupider!

    The Democratic party need to get their acts together, every time I heard them diagnose the situation, they fail measurable. We tend to be reactionaries at time. Republicans have a strategy, which is divide and concur, and financial gain- it works for them. But that won't work for us, because democrats are intelligent, we analyze everything, we care about issues confronted the entire world, while worry about the other side understand us, that's difficult stuff to Juggle. But we need to maintain focus, not so easily derailed , I can't believe we buy into the idea of Hillary's crookedness, preferred Bernie over Hillary, and that democrats voted for Trump instead of Hillary, to me that's crazy. Many of the Bernie's fans were republicans skimming to change the outcome, republicans are good car salesmen, they know how to skim to get at what they want.

The votes were bought by corporate donations. Naomi and her crowd should advocate for white working class. She might gain credibility.

    The point in question is: are everything very democratic in this country so far, and every intelligent and well informed people very happy and proud with the way ^democracy` is evolving so far? Listening to the protesters speeches, it is like listening to someone complaining that Donald Trump is already destroying a beautiful nation of peace and justice and high values of democracy existing. He even took place in his charge as president yet! And let me point out that this country is far far away from something that a intelligent and well informed human can be proud of, based in almost all humanitarian and cultural subjects. ONE GOOD IDEA. ONE POWERFUL TACTIC. Here's the major problem why political reforms don't happen in USA, the core reason 3rd parties fail in the USA, is our 'winner take all' voting vs. proportional representation. Alternative Voting is a good 'keyword' to find out more about this. We need to change to election process so alternative voice, smaller voices can start to get a share of political power.
    Winner-take-all voting is like a gambler thinking he can beat the odds in Las Vegas; but the only steady winner in Las Vegas is the casinos. --- NEITHER DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS ARE GOING TO ‘SAVE US,’ FROM THEIR OWN MANIPULATIONS AND MALFEASANCE --- So the tactic I recommend is Radical*Voting, meaning Vote out all incumbents, repeatedly, again and again until news laws passed, laws passed that reduce the influence of cash, term limits, limits on length of campaigns, and some method of ALTERNATIVE VOTING that does give all the power only to those who can get 51%.
    In some ways no more radical that voter enforced term limits, but in another way a mist dramatic challenge to business as usual. We've had no success in changing our politics by waving signs, by large crowds, nor by breaking windows. Change comes, as it's been often repeated, "by the bullet or the ballot." (And revolution or civil war doomed to destroy more than it saves)

    When both sides realize that Goldman Sachs does not care which side is in and the people then decide to act together against the real problem we will continue to be at each other's throats, and letting the real culprits off the hook. We need a people's party, neither party is in truth that entity. Both sides have weakness and both sides have strength, the most glaring weakness common to both sides is the willingness to waste so much energy denigrating the other side and ignoring the true problem.

    I suspect it would have happened with any corporate funded candidate. Any non corporate candidate may well have been in danger or used as a figurehead but held powerless. This has probably been a long time in the making.
