Not a fail in the end rather a total success in my book. Nice job too. I've never seen a pneumatic hammer like this but can think of some times I would have liked to have had one.
I with everyone was waiting for that spring retainer to fly the the west coast. Scary dang things . Neat arthritis maker you have dug up I've never seen one that was hand held
I would have thought the main C-frame was a solid bar, but they used a tube, surprised it didn't spread itself apart more and more with each use, unless the tube is a type of spring steel maybe?
Planishing car panels .like using a slapper file only 4000 times a minute . Use the lower die to mach the profile of the panel . They are great and save hundreds of hours
Nice job, I have one just like that. Whenever I use an old tool like this I like to imagine the skilled craftsmen who handled it before me and what they shaped with it. If it could only tell it’s story.
When cold bluing you will get much better and longer lasting results I you heat the parts being blued. At the gun shop I used to work at we would either heat the parts in boiling water until they flash dried when removed or we had a powder coat oven we would heat the parts in before submerging them in the bluing solution.
Amazing video. Quick question I saw crc has a knocker loose and knocker loose plus. About to start a few projects so I'll be grabbing a few things I have plenty of regular so should I grab the plus.
Nope. Just use what you have. Works great. I give it a shot and let it sit for 10 minutes. If you have a chance it's good practice to spray your project down a few times the day before, however I have had hundreds stubborn of rusty nuts and screws come of after a quick squirt. It's the real deal
I'm going through o do some testing ti see how it works on modern vehicles. The metal is completely different from what was used in 1936 when this thing was made. Should be interesting.
11:00 Using a planishing hammer to fix a planishing hammer. ~ LOL

Not trying to smash the panel So air pressure is right down .
Otherwise your stretching the metal till it's useless
Great restoration!
What are these used for? Body work on cars?
