As a STR Faith build. A lot of these bosses you think were harder were easier because of stagger, and some of the faster bosses that move a bunch were much harder. It's interesting to see that DEX builds different so much from STR build struggles.
Yea, NPC fights tend to be a joke on STR builds, since you can easily just stagger lock them all to death. So its weird seeing him think so many of the NPC fights were hard, when for STR builds, there basically all a joke except Leda's fight.
It’s hard to describe the relief I felt at defeating consort radahan after 10 hrs of attempts over 2 days. I ended up scouring the map for all the scadu fragments and farming 30 levels for the verdgris armor to make a cheese build. Even then it felt like an accomplishment. I’ll always think of malenia as more bullshit because of the healing mechanic though
That's crazy it took me like 10 hours over the course of 2 days as well. The only time I considered using summons and changing to another more powerful build.
@@crummyclub9344 Thats kinda a wild coincidence lol. I also took almost exactly 10 hours too, also over 2 days. I almost used summons too after the like 5-6 hour mark, but I toughed it out and eventually won. Brutal boss.
Personally I actually like Malenia's healing mechanic. I think it forces you to master her fight since getting hit not only puts you closer to death, but makes her heal back up, so you have to really focus on learning her moveset and dodging everything. Honestly, Malenia is a super fun and well designed boss with ONE major flaw being water fowl. If that move was toned down, or even just removed, I think she'd be one of the best bosses in the entire series, where you just have to get into the Zen mode to beat her and master her. But water fowl makes the fight too inconsistent, and it somewhat ruins the entire fight. You can get decently consistent at dodging it, but it still ultimately ends up being a drag to the experience and taints the fight. And then Radahn is malenia on crack. He's also a fun boss underneath all the BS, but there is so much BS that it completely ruins the experience.
This is honestly why I love Elden Ring right here, there’s always some people out there with significantly different experiences that can vary wildly from the standard expectation, some people are just better at some things or worse than others are.
I stumbled into your channel by accident and I love your combination of quick overview analysis and ridiculous humor. You earned yourself another sub my friend
The Final Boss becomes a lot easier with a shield, the physical attacks don't do much stamina damage and if you put the holy braid talisman on, his beams of light don't either (I also doubled that up with pearldrake +3 because I'm a bitch). Also, run and jump - don't roll - to either side to avoid the gravity rock attack. When timed right, the rocks basically sail over your head since they track your jump height. With a Bleed weapon and shield + aforementioned Talismans, that fight only took about 2 hours for me at blessing 17
I was using the thrusting shield and I was making it to Phase 2 consistently, but the holy damage chip made me respec. I just went full BS and made a STR/ARC build with the Bloodfiend Arm. Took another dozen or so attempts but I won and that's all that matters atp
@@jeff3221 There are a LOT of cheesy ways to beat him, he is of course weak to Scarlet Rot too, so thats another route. He also is susceptible (though not "weak" exactly) to stagger, so even a big bonk build can work. FromSoft really does know how to make hard bosses, plenty of weaknesses to offset the challenge
Nah stacking buffs aint a bitch move. Its the intended design. Always has been. The games were never meant to be just walls you have to scale, but a puzzle you have to solve.
@@usernameig975 Very true, because the talismans and armor in ER have no upgrade system, I can only assume they are meant to be switched out on a whim since there is no penalty for doing so
@@jeff3221 For ALL of soulsborne games, ive seen some people say Ishin and Demon of hatred are harder, from Sekrio. But thats the most ive seen someone claim. But yea, I dont even think its close, Radahn is easily harder than those 2 bosses from sekiro. Radahn is absolutely insane. Maybe if you go full out with any cheese method ever, no respect at all for trying to beat him without cheese, then Radahn is easier, but if you fight him at all normal, then he's magnitudes harder. Hes only easier if you have no care about cheesing because you can get so OP in Elden ring that you can make basically any boss trivial, including him, where as in a game like sekiro that isnt possible, since your build is very restricted.
@@lukes.854 You need like 7-8 before Messmer isnt too bad. I beat him at 8 after like 30 min (although I already had beaten him in co-op before that, so I knew the fight). Even at scadu level 19, Radahn is a nightmare. Took me 10 hours to beat that boss without summons.
So a bit of lore for you guys. Miquella, after the shattering, told Malenia about his plan to ascend to godhood. He sent her away to inflict the rot upon Radahn, cleaving his soul away and replacing it with the rot, as revealed by prime radahn's armor in which it says that Malenia told Radahn that he would be his consort. Meanwhile, Miquella enchants Mohg into steaing him away, thereby allowing him to divest his flesh and enter the realm of shadow. Once we kill Mohg (after Radahn), we enter the realm of shadow, and it is then that, thanks to us, he is able to steal away Mohg's body, as revealed by Sir Ansbach. Once in the realm of shadow, Miquella's rune continues to enchant the tarnished warriors into allegiance with him so that he may continue his plan, but as part of his plan he needs to destroy his rune, lifting the enchantment on the tarnished. At some point, he is able to fuse the body of Mohg with the soul of Radahn, as revealed by Prime Radahn having omen horns and the golden eyes of Marika's children and not Rennala's. Finally, during the battle with Prime Radahn, he is able to use a grab attack, that lifts you up to Miquella, and unless you have his discarded rune on your person that resist charms, he will insant-kill you through your own free will just giving up. The lore is a little convoluted, and Mohg is no longer the Mohglester but the Mohglested, but I overall enjoyed piecing together what I could. Lmk if I got anything wrong or have suggestions!

Bayle had me shitting my pants, there was so much going on and the music was popping off the whole time. It took me like 5 minutes during the winning run and that whole time I was on the tip of my toes. Never felt that way about a souls boss, and I've done em all many times.
Yea same, Bayle and Gaius are the 2 hardest for sure aside from Radahn (haven't gotten to him yet). They're the only bosses that took me more than 5 tries.
I beat Prime Radahn on my 5th try and I used every tool at my disposal. I buffed with everything I had and I also called on the secret weapon I needed most when it was available… some guy who called himself “I kill Gods” 😂
I beat the bastard that is the final boss and I don’t ever say this. But he needs a nerf I’m fine with the damage I’m fine with the health the moves it’s the absolute cluster fuck that is the second phase. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many effects come out in one go and the game expects you to dodge it. If they just slowed down the follow up beams to give you a chance to freaking roll again, this would be so much more reasonable. I would love to do this dlc again I loved it. But FUCK that bastard.
IMO, Half of ER and especially this DLC's difficulty with bosses is due to FROM's current obsession with having a metric shitload of particle effects and visual clutter that fill the screen that already has a criminally low FOV. Further worsening the action obscuring effects and clutter is the mediocre camera and lock-on system that REALLY doesn't like fast or mobile enemies, especially when they jump, quickly maneuver or fly (which is 70% of the games roster.) There's no reason for there to be so many big bosses that you can barely see over their knees who also just cover the screen with constant effects. Messmer, Radahn, Fire Giant, and Bayle are egregious examples.
Ranking depends on what weapon you use. Bayle is trivialized if you can apply high poise damage quickly... He gets stunned all the time. 70% of bosses are vulnerable to bleed. Including Consort Radahn, who gets literally melted by Reduvia or other quick bleed weapons. Shield Poke is as OP as it was, it kills Consort Radahn on autopilot.
didn’t know at the time bayle was viewed that difficult/to me all his attacks were readable and just reminded me of a updated midir fight somehow putrescent knight is the one thing i never wanna fight again
i agree, i though bayle was one of the easier fights in the dlc, after 5 or so attempts and learning his moveset (i was underleveled and got 2 shot) i got an almost no hit fight with my only hit being the second laser hit, which clipped me
Bayle is up there as it's one of the strongest bosses for raw dmg and hp, so naturally people find it difficult because you can't scale much further than that. The eardtree blessing caps out and character levels dont do much past 150 compared to the time needed to grind souls.
Hardest part of bayle is learning not to hit his head because he jerks it around so fucking much you'll never hit him. After I switched to focusing his tail behind stump foot I beat him first try. His "get off me" flame breath that he shoots into his crotch is fucking annoying.
Couldn't agree more on Radahn. I guess Miyazaki just one upping himselft without much thought now. "I need to create more diffucult boss than before" without actually creating a fun challenge. This was with Malenia last time. There is clear difference between "fun hard" & "just hard", and FROMSOFTWARE starting to lean into the wrong direction, which is concerning.
@@BVSSIC I beat him with my default build next day within the hour. So i guess that was my salt and tiredness lmao. He felt not so bad today and i had fun. I was wrong. Malenia is still shit tho)))
Thank you so much for doing this. I know how much time it takes for these videos from editing to everything else. Been waiting for you to do these. You just made my day bro.
I died to him on my first try because I didn't get his gimmick. His clones he spawns will disappear after about 30 seconds or so, and any of them still alive will apply a debuff on you. If you get enough of this debuff you just instantly die. I usually just run away from bosses' dumb enemy spawns and wait them out (like you usually do in the Rennala fight when she starts dropping dragons and trolls on you) and so I got killed by the debuff.
For Lamenter -- failing to kill his clones/attack the real one enough applies a stack of a swirling head around you. I think if you let 6 or 7 swirl around you, you instantly die - 1 head per clone left alive. The boss is more like a weapon/ash of war check than anything else
Glad I'm not the only one who enjoyed Commander Gaius. He's one of the few bosses who gives you consistent windows for punishes, and his attacks are very well telegraphed. His long combo is also pretty easy to dodge and punish if you just roll to right to avoid the last slam.
I just think he’s rly goddamn boring for a remembrance boss, and that’s probably why he gets so much hate. Pretty sure the universal reaction after beating this random asshole down a back path with no cutscene or dialogue and like only two moves was “I got a REMEMBRANCE for that???”
100% agree about the hardest boss. It's straight up artificial difficulty and complete bullshit. No satisfactory beating this boss you're just glad it's over and you will never fight him again because who wants to endure that shitty experience? Worst boss in the Souls Series change my mind.
I won't be cause I 100% agree fought him for 2 hours and I know it's suppose to be hard but they designed a boss who outpaces the mimic, if u use a fast striking weapon u might get one hit off without taking damage and phase 2 with a chance of him just going from one combo to the next like I'm sorry do I need max endurance to dodge him 30 times in a row. It's genuinely miserable I'm gonna try fighting him with blasphemous blade but if that doesn't work I'm gonna wait for a nerf and if he doesn't get nerfed I'm fine with never beating him I got my money's worth out of the dlc anyway.

Your boss ranking vids made me give Elden Ring a try. Can’t wait to catch up to everyone else a year after the content cuz I suck, but love your stuff Albino
You can dodge the gravity pull into shockwave by buffering a roll then running jumping back Also the universal counter to the light beams are sticking up to Radahn I will not say the double slash cross slash is a well designed attack though, it feels frame perfect if you are not light load
That attack is the only real problem with the fight. The light beams are meant to intimidate you but once you stay up close to him they won’t hit you. I thought the fight was awesome apart from the double slash into x bullshit.
DON’T CLICK READ MORE IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED ABOUT THE FINAL BOSS. . Slight note about Promised Consort Radah: In Vaati’s new video he pointed out that in the Secret Rite Item description "A lord will usher in a god's return, and the lord's soul will require a vessel." In this context, Mohg’s body is the vessel, Radahn is the soul, and Miquella is the god. The reason Radahn can suddenly uses fire moves is because it’s Mohg’s body.
ive beat him maybe 5 times over now, but i can say under 30 tries is crazy, it took me maybe 50 on my first attempt, also without summons. well done on that man

Bravo dude. I was using keen backhand blades with no summons and I think he took me almost 60 attempts either that or 4 hours whichever one is closer to the truth I can’t remember I was locked the fuck in.
side note on the Miquella's great rune use, its not a passive that sits in your inventory you have to use the item. If you don't use it and he does the grab again its insta death.
Miquella isn’t gay, he combined Radhans soul with mohgs corpse to create the strongest possible demigod to bring him to Godhood. Consort doesn’t always mean husband. So apparently miquella took advantage of mohg and not the other way around
He actually did it because he thinks Radhan would make the best possible lord because of him being a kind person. If he wanted the strongest Demi god possible he would’ve had Malenia bloom 3 times and have her be his consort.
@@shiroufan5401 well yea thats another thing but also every demigod had something severely wrong with them but radahn. Not super far into the DLC, but Dancing Lion can go to hell. I feel like the hit box for his attacks is weird. I'm really excited to get to the rest of the big main bosses.
Always interesting to see other players and their builds and what bosses give them trouble. Radahn clapped me for far too long until I realized "oh blocking is nearly pointless here just try to dodge roll everything" and then I finally got him in another 10 or so tries. Messmer is my number 2 here for the same "dodge don't block" reason but I didn't learn that lesson with him. Divine beast number 2 gave me more trouble than the rest of the bosses. Bayle and Rellana were tough but Bayle I got some good avoid on and Rellana I was able to poise break often with the Ordovis greatsword. Good list. Enjoyed the vid.
Radahn made me genuinely love Malenia, I use a Guts build in every souls game and no other builds and the best way to kill him with that build is just poke him to death or parry him, that's not a good design for a final Boss after all the great bosses fromsoft has released (Orphan, Gael, Ishin, hell even Radagon and Elden Beast) radahn is the ONLY fromsoft fight I consider to have artificial difficulty.
I’m not gonna lie, if it wasn’t for the sekiro parry tear, it would have taken me 5 times as long to beat the dlc final boss, but with it, me and my cragblade giant crusher crushed them.

Same up until the final boss for me
same, did him before messmer, they double teamed me

Instantly knocks all fun out of the fight
And when the world needed him most. He has returned.
some bosses in this dlc are so weird. Blackgoal genuinely feels hard until you just use a weapon that does big poise damage or an ash of war like giant hunt. and then he literally gets stun locked for the whole fight
Or just parry, funny enough with the deflecting tear, most of the hard bosses in the DLC can be beaten pretty easily
The new blind spot ash of war carried me through the holy dlc. It needs to be nerfed hard though it’s probably the most op thing in the PvP right now
I legit saw complaints about him and didn't even remember him. Malenias Ash of War just clipped the dude with a full combo in stun lock. I remember walking out of his little room like, "heyy that was the dude on the trailer, starting off easy". This vid made him look way more annoying.
for the lamenter you missed out for every clone you dont kill you get a skull around, if you get 5 you insta die

I’ll always think of malenia as more bullshit because of the healing mechanic though
id rather fight two malenia's and godskin duo at the same time than the twink and his buff bf
That's crazy it took me like 10 hours over the course of 2 days as well. The only time I considered using summons and changing to another more powerful build.
exactly. Not joy, relief. Cuz i didnt have to deal with his bullshit anymore.
Already know what number one is without even watching this vid lol
Sunflower dude at 25th is criminal, top ten for me at least. Died to him more than Mesmer.
Messmer was the easiest boss in the DLC, sunflower was maybe 3rd easiest. That thing dies in like 4 hits.

I stumbled into your channel by accident and I love your combination of quick overview analysis and ridiculous humor. You earned yourself another sub my friend
Your commentary is hilarious. "Getting my back blown out by the remembrance bosses"

Bro always has the funniest boss rankings I swear

Yeah I'm gonna have to check my biases if I see someone say Radahn isn't the hardest, because atm, I'm just gonna assume they're a contrarian
Radahn is definitely the hardest objectively but I had more trouble with Messmer because I had a pretty low scadutree level and I got stubborn
"a Holy gay necklace" i never expect to hear this about miquela but now is the only way i'm gonna call him.
Midra looks like Hastur, the King in Yellow.
Putrescent Knight looks like the remains of Orphan of Koz.
Lmk if I got anything wrong or have suggestions!
mohg was the victim, justice for mohg who got mohglested by the miqlestor

Bayle had me shitting my pants, there was so much going on and the music was popping off the whole time. It took me like 5 minutes during the winning run and that whole time I was on the tip of my toes. Never felt that way about a souls boss, and I've done em all many times.

God bless albino, your boss rankings are the blue sky after a long storm.
Your sense of humor is amazing!
I think mine goes
1:radahn
2:bayle
3:gauss
3: gayest
radahn is hard af but still fun to fight against, gaius is just straight bs
Yea same, Bayle and Gaius are the 2 hardest for sure aside from Radahn (haven't gotten to him yet). They're the only bosses that took me more than 5 tries.
For me that 3 spot would be taken by rellana, but yeah dlc bosses are hard
And i hate that stupid charge attack from gauss' boar
3:00 It actually attacks and recovers slower on at least the last phase, definitely a “Fighting but still dying” type of vibe, like Sif in DS1
It honestly feels like a modded boss, it's comparable to Unalloyed Malenia
Yeah the visual clutter really annoys me, and it's so much stuff that it literally lags my PC especially when he does the laser airstrike move.
IMO, Half of ER and especially this DLC's difficulty with bosses is due to FROM's current obsession with having a metric shitload of particle effects and visual clutter that fill the screen that already has a criminally low FOV. Further worsening the action obscuring effects and clutter is the mediocre camera and lock-on system that REALLY doesn't like fast or mobile enemies, especially when they jump, quickly maneuver or fly (which is 70% of the games roster.)
There's no reason for there to be so many big bosses that you can barely see over their knees who also just cover the screen with constant effects. Messmer, Radahn, Fire Giant, and Bayle are egregious examples.
Here super early can't wait to see what boss that was easy for most is albinos hardest the true albino classic
Ranking depends on what weapon you use. Bayle is trivialized if you can apply high poise damage quickly... He gets stunned all the time.
70% of bosses are vulnerable to bleed. Including Consort Radahn, who gets literally melted by Reduvia or other quick bleed weapons.
Shield Poke is as OP as it was, it kills Consort Radahn on autopilot.
didn’t know at the time bayle was viewed that difficult/to me all his attacks were readable and just reminded me of a updated midir fight
somehow putrescent knight is the one thing i never wanna fight again
I loved both fights but I found putrescent easy to medium difficulty and Bayle very hard.
i agree, i though bayle was one of the easier fights in the dlc, after 5 or so attempts and learning his moveset (i was underleveled and got 2 shot) i got an almost no hit fight with my only hit being the second laser hit, which clipped me
Bayle is up there as it's one of the strongest bosses for raw dmg and hp, so naturally people find it difficult because you can't scale much further than that.
I loved the knight so much. That one combo he does with the horse is so satisfying to dodge I’m glad he uses it so often
Idk, Radahn was Hella fun, those beams just need a bit of tweaking. It's the same mindset as touhou, and I think das neat

Fighting Rellana using claws and bloodhound steps was so much fun. It almost looked like we were dancing.
If you don’t have miquellas broken rune you instantly die
Since your character falls in love with miquella and stops fighting (I’m not making this up)
If miquella grabs you twice, he steals your heart. This immediately kills you but also unlocks a new dance.
Thank you so much for doing this. I know how much time it takes for these videos from editing to everything else. Been waiting for you to do these. You just made my day bro.
I died to lamenter multiple times. If enough dark orbs hit you its an instakill.
dying to the easiest boss isnt a flex
I died to him 2 times, but it was more because I didn’t know what he was trying to do
I died to him on my first try because I didn't get his gimmick.
@KevOfPeen being a dick to random people online isn't either yet here you are
Blackgaol is the easiest and somehow a lot of people died to it
For Lamenter -- failing to kill his clones/attack the real one enough applies a stack of a swirling head around you.
Your commentary is top tier homie 😂

You can dodge the gravity pull into shockwave by buffering a roll then running jumping back
Also the universal counter to the light beams are sticking up to Radahn
I will not say the double slash cross slash is a well designed attack though, it feels frame perfect if you are not light load
That attack is the only real problem with the fight. The light beams are meant to intimidate you but once you stay up close to him they won’t hit you. I thought the fight was awesome apart from the double slash into x bullshit.

Slight note about Promised Consort Radah: In Vaati’s new video he pointed out that in the Secret Rite Item description "A lord will usher in a god's return,
and the lord's soul will require a vessel." In this context, Mohg’s body is the vessel, Radahn is the soul, and Miquella is the god. The reason Radahn can suddenly uses fire moves is because it’s Mohg’s body.

side note on the Miquella's great rune use, its not a passive that sits in your inventory you have to use the item. If you don't use it and he does the grab again its insta death.
Miquella isn’t gay, he combined Radhans soul with mohgs corpse to create the strongest possible demigod to bring him to Godhood. Consort doesn’t always mean husband. So apparently miquella took advantage of mohg and not the other way around
hmmm idk man seems kinda gay…
He actually did it because he thinks Radhan would make the best possible lord because of him being a kind person. If he wanted the strongest Demi god possible he would’ve had Malenia bloom 3 times and have her be his consort.
@@shiroufan5401 well yea thats another thing but also every demigod had something severely wrong with them but radahn. Not super far into the DLC, but Dancing Lion can go to hell. I feel like the hit box for his attacks is weird.
I'm really excited to get to the rest of the big main bosses.
The health it has was insane for me. I was doing like 300 damage a hit
the hitbox sucks, but even worse is the camera, Dancing Lion has some of the worst camera tracking in a souls fight
