- Thought I'd share some vintage RC Car ads from a Radio Control Car Action Magazine (August 1989). Loved reading these magazines from cover to cover back in the golden era of RC.

Wow!! I remember these. Cannot believe its been so long. 😢
Kyosho still has a print catalog going. Nice nostalgia trip!
This brings back way too many wonderful memories!
I had the bottom of the line Grasshopper, followed later by the top of the line Avante. Grasshopper had terrible rollover instability but was very durable. Avante was so fragile I did not want to run it in the grass.
My first RC was the Monogram Lightning! An 80's RTR. My first kit was the Grasshopper and it was awesome! So many memories with it. I ran it so much I wore it out!
@@arkyrc Yeah, you had to eventually replace the front tires, which would ultimately split. I replaced them with the cool-looking Pro Lines, but then realized they were wider than the rears.
I remember them splitting out. We ran on asphalt and they didn't last very long!@@perfectsplit5515
Subbed & liked & best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️
I drooled over that top of the line Futaba Magnum with all the bells and whistles.
Man this brought back memories thank u
Thanks! I loved these magazines (and BMX Plus!) as a kid....would spend hours looking them over!
I remember how floored I was by that “full-size” RC10 ad.
Yes!!!!! I remember the Hi-IQ charger. That was the ultimate in technology. This was such a treat. CAR ACTION was my bible every month. My buddy Frank was an editor for them.
Loved these magazines!
Bought a Kyosho Maxxum, what a terrible car that was. 🤣 FWD dirt buggy was a bad idea.
It was a novelty idea for sure. Most tracks wouldn't allow it to race in the 2wd class. They bring decent money today.
I remember when Kyosho discontinued it, the price crashed from about $150 to $90 (I think).
Thank you for making me 13 again..:)
Kyosho should bring this all back.. they would make a killing… the new and now older me, has money to burn.
Thanks for the great comment and glad you enjoyed the video! I loved those magazine as a kid. I used to wear them out! Before I made this video I didn't know this website existed:

@@arkyrc same here, I used to sit on the shitter for hours on end because of these magazines lol
Me too! LOL!! @@tommy2timez
Damn taking me back to my 12yr old self
I used to read every page!
yeah, same here😀
I was 10, but remember all of this. ❤
So many memories. The heyday 🎉
One of the more stupid things I ever did was toss away my 1987-1992 RCCA magazine collection. Great memories! Bill 'Mad Brain' O'Brien with his Wroad Wrecker, a six wheeled monster based on a Clod Buster. Those were the days! Cheers from Holland.
Everything was so much cheaper back then when I was a kid with no money. LOL. Thanks for the memories.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great stuff!
It's shocking how many of these I genuinely remember. I guess it should be no surprise, I stared at the pages of RC Car action for hours and hours dreaming of having some of this stuff.
I literally wore out these magazines. I'd spend hours reading the articles and looking over the ads.
@@arkyrc The good ol Tower Hobbie ads!
FANTASTIC.!!! 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thank you.
Please stay safe out there mate & best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️
Thanks..glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video honestly. Edited very well.
Thanks! Wish I could get my hands on a bunch of these magazines!
@@arkyrcI think all the old issues of RCCA are archived in Google Books.
I'll have to check that out! Magazines were how we learned RC back in the day. I love to look through the old ones! @@perfectsplit5515
I miss that magazine
the most entertaining RC video since a long time👍
Wish I had a whole collection of these!
I think I remember that
Sure good memory in past and do remember tamiya was popular than today ..today traxxas and arrma
I had a lot of those cars and boats...very nice.
lol, the rc10 ad with the bikini girl. Had it pinned up in my bedroom back in the day. Had subs to both rc car action and rc airplane action mags. They were great. A new issue back in the day was a special treat. I remember every single one of those ads. Fun times when even ads in an enthusiast mag were awesome.
cheers.
Fortunately, I have a Rubbermaid tub of my old RCCA and a couple of RC Model Cars magazines in my basement.
That's awesome! I could spend hours reading those! I know we have the internet today, but there was just something special about going through those magazines!
Super awsome! Miss looking at them rcca magazines for hrs. I'd sneak them to school have my school book open rcca ontop of it proped.up. teachers thought I was doing what I was supposed to but I was in fantasy land lol. I miss the old cars. Everything's 4wd now which is very cool to race but 2wd was really fun. It's just outdated everyone wants that 4wd brutal brushless power but some of the most fun rc cars I've owned and or operate were brushed.
There's something about the old stuff that the new stuff is missing. Mostly nostalgia! I loved these magazine and used to read them so much I wore them out! If they still published it I'd get a subscription.
