    Many years ago before I saw the light of DE razor shaving, I used another novel invention to clean the clogs out of my cartridge razor. It was called “an old toothbrush”, and I believe Oral B already had a patent on it.

    • @shaverescue6413

      LOL Merrill 😂. Prior to making our Rescue Brush, "an old toothbrush" was our method of choice to unclog razors as well. I guess we owe a thank you to Oral B for the inspiration then!

      For 25 sheets it’s insane , a stiff fingers nail brush is far more effective and can also clean your finger nails , this is a poor product that will fail

    From the time of Cella, you can see the sheer joy of shaving in Kevy. And that reminds me why I shave every day for a year with great joy. Before, I only did it because I had to do. Nice Saturday shave Kevy I wish you nice and smooth weekend.

    This was a great idea to showcase the Shave Rescue brush. I was already skeptical when you showed the brush out of the box. To my amazement, it not only worked, but it unclogged a four- blade cartridge! I am not only impressed by this, but I love the selfless generosity that Shave Rescue does for firefighters who have debilitating injuries. Cella was great: it's always great. I noticed you now sit on the cusp of 14,000 subscribers! This always gives me great pride in being a part of your wet shaving community. I hope one of these outing was for some curry. Please give my best to Mrs. Kevy, and Mr. Riley. Cheers!

    Great shave Kevy! I used to have one of thse WS razors and it was a pain when it kept clogging. I have & love the Razorock •68 but it's open comb. Great razor though. I had my Biopsy tests back and I have cancer in the right hand side but it's low risk and will just be monitored by the Hospital. More test to follow. Quite relieved though.

    Great shave. My birthday is today on the day of this upload, so this one has entertained me for that occasion. The video wasn’t too terribly long actually as it was under 30 minutes. This one was out of the ordinary with a cartridge razor for the first pass and a DE for the rest of the shave. Hopefully, things will be normal again after this one and that this is the last we’ll see of cartridges on video at least for a long long time. Have a good one!

    And my step son will also learn to cut hair .. to cut my own hair to make my fades and to wet shave after the hair cut it’s and amazing feeling ..

    Interesting gadget! Thanks, Kevy, for reviewing.
    Sometime when the nay-saying has died down I encourage you to try the TSA-ok carry-on-able combo I sent you a while ago: 1970’s Vintage Aluminum Atra/Contour handle with the Gillette Atra/Contour Plus cartridge (from Poland) I also sent. This is my favorite carry-on razor as it only has 2 blades and to me is handsome in its way. This razor and blades were called “Atra” in USA and “Contour” in Europe.
    A Schick Type L with one blade loaded is also great and those blades (especially Supply Black Label) easily go for 10 shaves so cover at least 2 weeks of shaving.

    🇺🇦 I use a Gillette Skinguard razor occasionally. I always get an excellent shave, with no irritation. Razor has two blades and is meant to be used by people with sensitive skin, even though I don't have sensitive skin. Beard prep is the key, I think. 🇺🇦

  • @10floz30minutes
    @10floz30minutes 2 года назад +1

    Here are some things that I am not comfortable about right now, seven minutes into the video:
    (1)The unclogged hair will go into the sink and supposedly this is for flushing the hair down the sink drain, so to later risk clogging the sink.
    (2)Not sure which direction to move the razor with the rescue brush. If along the edge, or into the edge, then one would guess this erodes the cutting edge, thereby reducing very much the number of shaves for the cartridge or razor.
    (3)Clogging of hair will happen on the UNDERSIDE, the TRAILING side of the blade, and for multiblade cartridge, BETWEEN the blades. Again, if wipe the razor on the rescue brush along or into the cutting edges, this could be expected to erode the edge sharpness.
    ----------(scroll down last part of comment)
    What happens in practice may be different than those worries.

    Two disadvantages with this brush to my opinion. Frist you ruin the cutting ability of the blades every time you brush them on this stiff bristles and second with use you going to cut off the bristles from that brush.

    • @10floz30minutes
      @10floz30minutes 2 года назад +1

      But what are the results of wiping so that the but side of the blades lead and the cutting edge trails as the razor head is wiped on the rescue brush? That would be safest for both the cutting edges and the brush bristles.

    I like the little waste that de razors create. Now after few years of d- eeing, I've only one small cup of used razor blades (still not chucked), as all kept for posterity. Lol....it's just lovely reusing a de razor,and blades, and keeping it pukka...with a couple of passes, one gets a smashing shave with one decent blade, so the four/five blade thingy ain't needed. Summary...that's little waste in landfill, and more pleasure in the shave anyway. Add a few bits treating oneself with some good gear, and............ bobs your uncle !!! . Or, is it kevys your uncle ?!! 😆🤭

    There's a number of things that annoy me with carts: tuggy feel; the unnecessary lube stripes; clogging; too many blades; cart cost. Even though I enjoy my DE/SE razors 95% of the time, I will still try a Cart now and then, and also use them for travel. At least the novel The Shave Rescue brush work well for unclogging.👍😎👍

      @@kevyshaves4109 that’s good to know you’ve found them useful. I know I go on about this but because I spend 20 weeks a year traveling for work (mostly TX to CA and back) this is not a small issue for me as I hate to have to check a bag for 1-2 weeks. I did have 100 DE blades sent to my office in the hospital/clinic in CA where I usually work so that I can carry a DE razor without the blades if I get the notion.

      @shaverescue6413 2 года назад

      Hi Oliver, we like to think of it as a nice idea too and you are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, in the absence of any evidence that it destroys the edge of the blades - we respectfully disagree at your suggestion that it is a dead end.

      @@shaverescue6413 Hi, first of all I would like to thank you for your respectfull answer, but with logical thinking it is clear: when something touch a sharp edge like these blades they will damage them. The only question is how much? Of course it would be interesting to a person, who uses cartridge razors, but I am not. I use DE razors and in the near future straight razors. I am sure you know that people who use these straight razors, strop them with leather. A good leather with good stropping technic helps a lot to preserve the edge and keep it sharp. Think about it. As I said, it is my opinion and I don't change my mind. Kind regards

    Kevy💈🪒💈 Nice shave partly... It was painful watching that first pass, had to look away a few times😉 Seriously I get it, some folks are intimidated by wet shaving and won't ever change from carts, time involved, effort, clean up, sadly they're missing the point of a "great" shave, not just a shave. Oh well on to the Rescue Brush, looks like it would work on other types of razors as well, I think the side ways swiping would be more beneficial. Thanks for a great video, nice demo and sweet shave mostly... See you next time, now I need a glass of Macallan 🤣

When I view your videos I can hear the “singing “ of the blade. It’s very loud. I wonder why it’s that way. When I shave I don’t hear any sound. Is it because your beard has thick and stiff hair follicles?
