I got the 0.7 S&D Mamba and it's quickly become one of my favorite if not my absolute favorite. Very very smooth and doesn't miss a beat even after several days of heavy growth.
Great shave Kevy. I own the Mamba with the .70 head and love it as a daily driver. I’ve whittled my razors down to 5 now which includes the Karve Christopher Bradley in Brass B plate, the same in 303 Stainless, Razorock Mamba .70, Merkur Futur and Muhle Rocco. I’ve promised myself I’ll never buy another razor🥴 I need to work on whittling down my extensive brush collection next. Have a lovely bank holiday weekend.
Hi Kevy- Great shave; thank you! Beautiful gear, all-around! The LF brush always looks great, and you again have me thinking about the soap from TGGR!! Enjoy the weekend and best regards, as always, Kevy!
Sup buddy !!! A very pleasant shave, the RazoRock has everything to become the daily driver of many, good grip, good design and excellent performance but ..... the name reminds me of something interesting, don't you think?) 😀😀😀👍🏻👋🏻💯
Hey Kevy. I have the SS Mamba and find it does a pretty good job of giving me a BBS shave. I got the scratch and dent special. Couldn’t pass it up. Beautiful brush. Great shave today. Take care and be safe. Enjoy your weekend.
Great soap and splash kevy I recently got this set what a awesome scent it's a fruit explosion. It certainly doesn't smell like the fields round me with the farmers working in the fields 😂
Nice shave Kevy. I hope you and Mrs Kevy are keeping well. That soap sounds amazing I've just got a couple of plates for my Karve, plate G in safety bar and plate F in the open comb. I got the daily shavers kit last year (which comes with B, C, D plates) and just fancied trying something at the far end or their range. Looking forward to trying them out on my next two shaves next week 👍🏻😀.
Nice shave Kevy💈💈 I have both Mamba razors, sometimes the snake will bite you account being so smooth but extremely efficient. Mamba refers to the snake not the dance...I know, I know😊 This soap sounds wonderful, lathered good too. Great video and glad the "snake" didn't bite.... Enjoy!
Dundee! What a great name for a city, and I'd get a kick out of just saying it. That brush is gorgeous, and I'm thinking of getting that Mamba 53 myself.
Hello Kevy. I'm interested in comparing the gentleness and effectiveness of this mamba with Rockwell 6s. Could you say something about how you feel about it if you were to compare these razors? Which Rockwell tile would you compare Mamba 70 to? Happy Black Friday hunting. 🤓
The Mamba and BBS are very similar. The BBS bends the blade more and I think may have slightly positive blade exposure while the Mamba has neutral to slightly negative blade exposure. Blade exposure is highly influenced by the width of the blades so that’s why matching a blade like an Astra or Nacet rather than a Feather or Kai (both of which are sharp yes but slightly wider than the blades that come out of the Gillette factory in St. Petersburg) is so important for blade exposure and thus the tendency to wound ones self while shaving. That said the BBS with its greater flex of the blades and the Mamba are both very smooth and similar and in fact both are in my top tier of razors along with the Rockwell 6S using 2,3,4 plates. The 6S also has neutral blade exposure with Nacet or Astra, btw.
@@Mvendrel I have to admit that my 6s keeps getting overlooked as I reach for my Karve, Blackbird, Masamune & Masamune Nodachi. But I always get a great shave with the 6s whatever plate I choose. All in all its probably one of my best razors. Dave.
@@davesheppard8797 If you like the 6S and/or BBS you'll like the Mamba -- probably the .70 based upon the other razors you like. I slightly prefer the .53 for daily use. I shave almost every day for work as a physician and need to be clean shaven or grow an actual beard -- but scruffy doesn't work for me or the hospital! For continuous variable razors I like the Slim, FatBoy (Rhodium re-plate), Parker Variant, and the Rockwell T2 (although the head is a bit wide with too much dead-space on ends for me). I have a variable Pearl V7 I haven't tried yet. I'm pretty sure I'd Like the Masamune razors. I have not as yet sprung for a Rex Ambassador but it may be too aggressive for me based upon what others, including Matt of RE, have said. I wanted to like the Backbird Sabre (Gem razor) as did my son Lukas (nearly 30) but alas we both found it quite harsh even with the PTFE coated blades and we've got it up for sale. A friend is going to pass on his Blackbird Vector to us as he finds it overly harsh as well. I'm hoping Lukas or I like it as it is certainly a beautiful and uniquely designed AC razor. Lukas is a big fan of the RazorRock Hawk in all it's variations but especially the aluminum V2. His favorite AC blade is the Kai Captain Mild "Pink". My favorite SE razor is actually a Schick I, J, or M (variable) with a Japanese Schick blade or a NOS Schick Plus Platinum. I started shaving at age 14 in 1965 with Schick Injectors and still find them hard to beat even though I've tried almost every modern SE razor that is currently available. Anyway -- just my opinions as to what has worked best and not so much for me.
Great shave mate... Now I'm off to order some more soaps and get some apple pie and custard LOL. Give my regards to Shona and Riley. Take care mate, speak soon and stay safe;-)
Great shave. I’ve done Austere August myself using only what I use typically just because I felt like it. It’s coming to an end soon, which means I can finally go back to using whatever the fuck I want. Mamba isn’t just a dance move, it’s the name of a snake species. Mamba is also the nickname of a basketball guy named Kobe who you may know about. I bet he commissioned the razor to be made just for himself to shave with. Have a good one
Nice shave Kevy. The voice over is taking you prisoner, that was like the marriage of Mrs Doubtfire and Big Innes. Most won't understand what a chippy is, or half of your Scottish gibberish, but if it isn't Scottish it's CRAP! Got my first musical rehearsal tomorrow, taking part in a concert next Sunday Take care and stay safe pal 👍🏻 💈
Nice shave Kev!!! Would love to see an "Posh English" teamed set up tho ;) ... PS mamba is an African snake, La Bamba is what you had in mind lol you know? To shake the can 🤣
Maggard razors sell a clone of the mamba, called the 70 SS as stainless steel, but I do not have any return of it, so I cannot say if the qyuality is there or not!
Another nice shave. You have too much fun doing your videos 😉 I'm curious how you would compare the Mamba to the 6S. I'll probably never buy any of the razors you review. But it would help to have a baseline for comparison. Have a great Scottish weekend. Cheers.
@@kevyshaves4109 I think that the similarly of the Mamba and the 6S, with which I concur, is because both have neutral blade exposure. 6S is a favorite of mine too using 2,3,4 plates. I have one that’s two tone back and red and another that has its top plate and guides custom polished - I got it from a bloke in Australia via eBay. To my eye the Mamba is more gracefully beautiful while the 6S is industrial almost steam-punk handsome. With 38 minutes to live I might do a quick A-B with both ;-)
Are you an actor Kevy? Wonderful Video shaving. I have really much fun. Nice products. Have you Kevy testet products from Croatia? We don't have much, but a couple of. For example a black shaving soap with activ coal and and.... Are you interesting Kevy ?
Nice shave, Kevy! And awesome products. It's been nice to see you use UK products this month. Let me tell you something that has come to my attention during the last couple of weeks. I have recently watched a couple of videos from a fellow wetshaver called YMMV Shaves. And after a couple of his videos I'm beginning to suspect you 2 are in cahoots. I think you guys are making videos and shaving in the exact same bathroom. Or perhaps you are the same person that changes disguise and plays a different character just to play with our minds. Either that or you guys live in the same neighborhood, and both bathrooms were made by the same contractor. Check his videos out and you'll see what I mean. Have a nice week, Kevy! (or are you not really Kevy?!?)
Well done! Darron Barnes is a superb artisan. I've been enjoying my Berry Fields O' Blair thanks to you. I would have liked to see some other U.K. soapers featured this month. Perhaps another moth of U.K. soaps will be planned. At any rate, the Mamba performed well. There is no difference in the blades of Astra Blue and Green. The Blue means 5 count per tuck, and 10 count for the Green respectively. Continue to remain safe and healthy mate. Excellent session today. Thanks for posting.
Good to hear you're still enjoying the soap. I thought the Astra Greens wete Platinum coated and the Blue's were stainless. I coukd be wrong though 😂 Cheers Alex. Kevy 🙂
Actually the Blue are Stainless Steel and the Green are “Super Platinum” and there is a difference. Check out Sig Solo blind test. I too have found them similar but different. Both are great blades but at least in the Mamba I prefer the Blue (SS). The Green are made in St. Petersburg. The Blue may be made instead in the Czech Republic - I’ve seen conflicting info on their country of manufacture.
