What annoyes me the most are the parents of the grown up kids. Let's sum this up: you let your 7 y.o. child sleep in the huge mansion of an, let's say, eccentric adult man (who happens to be the most famous pop star in the universe) that believes in Peter Pan, has a private luna park etc and only after YEARS (and after you accepted money, a home, privileges, etc etc) you ask your son if "something strange" happened...?!?

@@Petrevious Of course I wasn't there, but there are a lot of testimonies of people who were close to Michael Jackson, minors at the time who spent time at Neverland and they all defend him. Also Safechuck and Robson have lied several times, so who do we believe? The guys who lie to our faces and only demanded MJ's estate for a multi million compensation when they're having financial problems or the dozens of people who worked/visited Neverland and defend Jackson without even profiting from it?

That may be true, but let's not forget that Michael was also a very capable liar. He'd complain about people making up crazy stories about him, but he was responsible for a lot of it. For example, It's been proven he himself planted the story about sleeping in an oxygen chamber. He wanted to be perceived as a mysterious public figure because he knew it would help his career. He wanted his career to be "the greatest show on earth". What worries me is that he could look right down the camera lens, look completely sincere, and swear that those stories were all made up by the "incredible terrible mass media" He also swore that the only plastic surgery he'd had was 2 nose jobs in the Bashir interview, but in his book "moonwalk" he admits to getting a cleft put in his chin. I could go on and on about the lies he's told just from inconsistencies in TV interviews. However, putting that aside, I'm a fan of MJ and hope none of this is true. But I think it's important to keep and open mind about it all and be open to the possibility he may have been a paedophile.

Siri Duffa You are a bit misinformed. First of all, no, he was not a pedophile. No ifs, ands or buts. Not only does what he SAY prove that but everything else. He himself saying “I’m not a pedohpile” is not enough for everyone to believe he wasn’t one, it’s the EVIDENCE that shows and proves to everyone that he was not one. The oxygen tank tumor was not the one he spread, it was the other one about Liz Taylor’s shrine, and the fact that he sometimes did this (only in the ones which did not harm his image, like that one since Liz was a very close friend of his) is common knowledge to his fans, I don’t think he did it multiple times though and it’s been proven that tabloids lied on him too like edited police reports by RadarOnline n etc. he was not a “very capable liar” like you said. Those were just things he did for fun and I personally find that fact really funny and it makes him more likable to me, how he played on the fact that the media hated him and was trying to frame him (like he claimed and like was true) with little wacky stories like that. The oxygen tank one was out of line though and no he didn’t spread that as far as I know, tabloids took pictures of him in tanks at a hospital for burn victims. Yes he did want to be mysterious but he did quite a good job of that himself with security and all that yet the media still found ways to invade his privacy, circling helicopters around the hospital where Prince was born to get pictures of him and numerous other instances. He could not go ANYWHERE without the media hounding him so it’s only human nature (hehe) for him to want to rebel against that and have some semblance of privacy as well as add to his celebrity status (this is a method that he perfected that Beyoncé now uses as well. No harm in finding a good and harmless strategy for your career). He never lied about the incredible terrible mass media. The mass media was INDEED very incredibly terrible to him. Where’s the lie in that? He’s not the one that spread lies about molesting kids in vivid detail in the media. He would never do things on that level no matter how much fun he took in the little things b/c not only did it hurt his career, it hurt HIM on the inside (as a person who genuinely and innocently loved children) and the outside (this negatively impacted his health and the allegations FOR SURE had a part in his early death. He always wanted to live forever, we all know this, sort of like Peter Pan. Although his death was huge and I know some conspiracy theorists who play into the exaggerated fact that he wanted his life to be the greatest show ever say shit like oh, he staged it/he’s alive or oh, he planned his death to make it huge or whatever but I genuinely think that more than ANYTHING he would like to see his kids grow up, and that his death would be huge whether he died at 50 or 100 yrs old, the hype of MJ is eternal. He could have retired right then & no one would have gotten sick of him). Anyways I just went off on a tangent but I wanted to address a lot. Also for the Bashir one, it is obvious he got something done to his chin and yes he admitted it in his book but plastic surgery is something he was quite clearly embarrassed about, he was just somewhat insecure about his outward appearance in general so like Kim K and Kylie Jenner have lied about their surgery and it’s been harmless (except in their case it could warp young women’s vision on natural perfection but I digress), same goes for him. I’m sure the little white lies he has told were.... harmless. He was a real person with feelings too, you know. People tend to forget that. We all tell white lies but since he was the biggest celebrity in the world, his just get blown up in front of the world without his control. I’d like to hear what other inconsistencies you may have spotted too but anyways that’s something else. I just think that everything you mentioned was not bad at all and harmless - in the end, he was not even close to a pathological liar by all means.
As a journalist I'm pretty scared about the situation around this film. It looks like the end of journalism to me. When I was at university, the first thing we were tought was fact-checking. You can't even say anything ALOUD until you have all the facts and evidence, proving what you're saying is truth. THAT is journalism. In the era of Internet you have all the facts open - I mean, FBI investigated him for 10 years or so, all their files are open now. When the mess around this so-called documentary started, It took 10 minuts for me to google it all: 1) Jackson was proven not guilty during the criminal trial - and Robson was his witness of defence! 2) He was found not guilty after FBI investigation. He was rich enough to 'buy' the jury, for example, but was he rich enough to buy the whole FBI?.. I'm not sure. These two guys filled the lawsuit against MJ companies asking for money. Come on. Isn't it clear enough?
But the strangest thing for me is both man claim they DIDN'T UNDERSTAND he was molesting them. Seriously? Even when they were in their 20's? Have you seen a 22 year old man who has no idea was sexual relationship is?
So it scares me, that all of this is more than another tabloid story. I don't understand why Dan Reed decided to take a part in this project. And why Sundance took part in it. And I'm deeply dissapointed about HBO - I used to believe they know something about documentary journalism. But when it comes to big money, there are no rules and no need to think about face of profession. We live in a crazy world, really. This time my heart is with Jackson. He seems the real victum to me.
thank you. when you say he was so rich to buy the jurors, which is one of the most used haters motives on his vindication, just wanna tell u a little detail : many don't know that LAPD blocked all MJ's accounts during the trial, so even if he could have bought jurors, he wasn't able to even buy a snack during that time.

FACTS: Wade’s mother says in 2009, she danced when MJ died, because she knew he’d never hurt another child. Even though her son didn’t realise he was abused until 2013.
Robson says they visited Neverland hundreds of times. But he said in court that they only went to Neverland 14 times. And Michael was only there for 4 out of those 14 times.
Safechuck in his lawsuit claimed he was abused by MJ in New York, in 1989 after he performed at the Grammys. But the Grammys were in Los Angeles that year, and MJ didn’t perform at the Grammys in 1989.
Safechuck said in 1987, he spent thanksgiving with MJ at his home. But MJ was in Australia doing the Bad tour in 1987 on thanksgiving.
Robson said he was forced to testify in 2005 as he didn’t want MJ’s children to be fatherless. Although he didn’t even realise he was being abused until 2013.
Safechuck claimed MJ took him on a “honeymoon” to Euro Disney in 1988. But Euro Disney was NOT even opened until 1992.
All the items burned in Leaving Neverland credits were fake. The actual valuables were sold by Wade for massive profit at JA/eBay.
45 minutes was cut out of the UK and Denmark version of LN due to the piles and piles of lies contradicting their stories. James Safechuck claimed in LN that MJ “abused”him on the train station in September 1992, but the train station was NOT even built until the end of 1993. The construction of the train station itself wasn’t until December of 1993. How did he get “abused”, when the train station didn’t even exist at the time...??? Lies, lies, and more piles of lies. Joy Robson - testified under oath in a deposition in 1993/1994 in relation to the Jordie Chandler case that Wade had actually GONE with them on that trip to the Grand Canyon, before the entire family returned to Neverland for the second time the following weekend. This means that Wade claimed he was left alone with MJ while his family went to the Grand Canyon and that was his first time being “abused”. BUT this proves he WASN’T even with MJ!!! #mjinnocent

That's not what this lawsuit was about. HBO tried to get the case dismissed before it even went to trial. Courts now ruled twice that however frivolous the 100m lawsuit against HBO might be (which was HBO's main argument for having it thrown out), the Jackson estate do still have the right to let the court decide.
So, no one's paying anyone yet. HBO could very well still win the actual case.

Michael Jackson really should have listened to his brother Jermaine, who told him to stop hanging out with young boys all the time like they were best friends. Even if he wasn't doing anything sexual with them, it still looked weird and opened him up to not only public ridicule but to be blackmailed and everything else. He made himself an easy target and gave people who disliked him plenty of ammunition to muddy his musical legacy. MJ was too far removed from reality at that point to listen to his brother and was surrounded by yes people who didn't want to lose that big paycheck as well as the other perks that go along with working for a star as big as him.

I mean, I'm just a guy trying to start finding the documentary to watch it, but in reading the reviews, one side's pointing to facts and court cases and investigation, the other is freshly wounded from a four-hour ordeal based on testimony of two people.
I have no issues believing that MJ COULD be guilty. I'm not blinded by his talent or his hold over us with his songs. He COULD be guilty. Certainly he spoke eccentrically and basically gives off the creepy vibes. Someone born after his death and unaware of his talent would go: "wow, that guy does look like a weird-ass vampire". Sure.
But the truly scary thing to me, is how a four-hour documentary immediately decided for so many people WHETHER wrongdoings occurred or not.
The victim here could be the molestation victims, or it could be Michael. No one knows yet, do they?
But the real victim, the one we need to all mourn and try to protect, is critical thinking. Submitting your belief over to a well-filmed docu that doesn't field both voices, both views, is just horrific.
Tomorrow the same director could film the flip-side of the story, his family members crying and saying they have PTSD and loss in faith of humanity that people are gouging the estate and Jackson name for money and financial gain (HBO funded this for a damn reason), and would you all immediately jump ship based on that?
Hold a balanced view, champion both camps, see both sides of the story, be able to present that balanced view to a third party. There's no need to capitulate or gravitate towards any one camp right away just because they unleashed a shock-and-horror docu. Add that to your list of references, and hope some damning or vindicating evidence turns up. Then you can make your judgement. Have more depth than that.

He states that he isn't doing any of this for money and yet he and James are appealing the dismissal of they're lawsuit against the estate for money.
He said as a result of the alleged abuse he wasn't able to work and yet started a production company in 2014, as well as being seen on social media choreographing and directing several projects.
He says he was coached to hate women by Michael and yet Michael himself set him up with his own niece Brandi.
It doesn't make any sense. Why are we just supposed to believe all of this even with these glaring inconsistencies and obvious lies?

During the course of the interviews, Jason said: “They (the interrogators) made me come out with a lot more stuff I didn’t want to say. They kept pushing. I wanted to get up and hit them in the head." During Michael’s 2005 trial, Jason confessed that he said things during the police interviews because he was “trying to figure out how to get out of there."
Wade Robson stated how he was first abused for 5 days while his family went to the Grand Canyon. But just a few months earlier his mother swore that the whole family, including Wade, left Neverland - and James Safechuck stating that he abused him when aerial picture of Neverland proven the property's train station wasn't built when he claimed he did so. They massively contradicted themselves time and time again UNDER OATH which should have had them facing criminal charges. Here's my two cents: They want his money, and now that he's gone, they want to drag his name in the muck.
Edit: Wade is angry. He was when he was rejected by the Estate for MJ after he already boosted he was doing it. Safechuck’s story is a complete mess and in fact it completely derailed in this movie as his ‘’daily abuse in a room on the second floor in the Neverland Train Station from 1988-1992′’ even though that building where again it was not built yet. Safechuck gave sworn depositions since 2014 that fr occurred from 1988-1992. And he and Jackson would have you know in the Neverland Train Station for years. He can't push back the dates because that instantly makes him officially a perjurer. In addition, in 1994 he would have been 16 years old, thus based on the narrative they are trying to push that MJ was only interested in preteens whom once they got older he replaced with other preteens. How could he still be interested in 16 year old if that was the case? In addition, him in his own sworn depositions/declarations stated that after 1994 he only visited Neverland twice during which time he was not abused because by then he was too old and Jackson supposedly had long lost all interest in him. In addition, I just found everything after this out. Safechuck lied about being pressured to testify for MJ in 2005 since months even before the trial the Judge (Rodney Melville) determined Safechuck to be a non factor, a non entity, which means that his testimony was irrelevant. In addition, he claimed he ONLY realized he was abused UNDER THERAPY on 20/05/2013 after he saw Robson on the Tonight show yet his mother said she danced when MJ died in 2009. How could she know that MJ ‘’did what he did’’ if her own son, the alleged, realized his "own" 4 years later? Safechuck was sued shortly before he saw Robson's lawsuit against the Estate. Then he suddenly "realized" he was hurt too and filed a creditor claim, which is all about money not justice. Safechuck lied about being in a condo with MJ in Los Angeles in September 1992 as MJ was reportedly performing on his Dangerous Tour in Europe then.

A random lie in this doc (there are many, but lets just take one example) - Safechuck said that he was allegedly molested in the train station from 1989 to 1992. Now there are a lot of problems with this thing alone.
The train station wasn't completed until 1994 (Dan Reed himself accepted this lol). And in 1994, Safechuck was already 16 and he was even bigger than Michael (in size). Also, when Aaron Carter defended MJ, your Dan Reed said that a 15 y/o was too old for Michael. But, in 1994, when the train station was actually completed, Safechuck was already 16.
Also, the US version of the doc is 3 hrs 55 min long and the UK version is 3 hrs 15 min long. Where did this 40 minutes went?.... Oops.... Lies!
Do your research, you just need to look into some FBI Files on Michael Jackson and the 2005 court transcripts, then you'll know why he was acquitted in 2005. The prosecution was too weak and their claims were contradictive.
