Mt Sterling Road to Cataloochee is a nice easy ride. You travel through what looks like a Robert Frost poem. Pretty, scenic and no boulders! Glad others enjoy rough terrain. Woo. Love back roads, but there is definitely something grand about easy.
Oh my goodness. We took this road yesterday. We have taken a lot of back roads, but this one was horrifying. After crossing the first dip through water we traveled on. We encountered another area with rough terrain. Crossing huge boulders with car suspended across them. A bumpy ride would be an understatement. Next we arrived at another boulder area with yet another suspended ride. When we came to the next boulder lined section we decided to turn around. Our 4 wheel drive kia did great considering the terrain, thank goodness for that. I dreaded the thought of having to gi back through what we jad just encountered. All I can say is don't do it! There are lots of well maintained roads with spectacular views and not dangerous. I would give one a 10 on a scale of terrifying, with 1 being not scary. Woo. An adventure.
@@rebeccawatkins390 thanks for watching and glad you made it out with no issues. I found some trails around the Hot Springs area in North Carolina. I’ll send you the link of a video I did last year. Shad road was a look challenging but you don’t have to do that route. The area around Weavers bend was fantastic.
The Xterra has done well. I’m actually working on a video of a trail ride we did in TN called Rocky Top. Hope to release it mid week. Thanks for watching!
@@thedude828-ed2nn I love the Xterra. It doesn’t get a lot of love like the 4 runner or FJ but it’s a very capable rig with the rear locker. Thanks for watching.
Come in off Waterville exit and hit it that way you don't have to go down it first.. I like that lil trail myself.. just wish it was more challenging.. and the locals call it the (goat path)
Going over to catalochee is a nice ride in itself.. the bridge you all went over crossing big creek is good picture taking spot.. I could show you all kinds of lil back rds to different spots and you would never hit a main rd.. plus see some cool stuff..
@@opie2.0henry_chancesR that’s what it is all about. I love finding spots like that. We had that experience at Rich Mountain/ Shad Road trails near Hot Springs. Weaver Bend was a great experience. You may have already hit those also.
@doingstuffseeingstuff8437 yes sir.. that's my stomping ground.. shad rd aka 422a is shut down. You can only get half way through it either way you go now...

Nice video and what a stunning overlook! Subscribed!
Hearing a white guy say the overlook freaked him out makes me feel better. Like my fears is warranted.
@@rayamanelly it’s awful, lol. I love the outdoors and mountains but I am terrified of heights. Thanks for watching.
Good to see another Nissan out there. I’m in a P4x Frontier and really enjoy Old Buzzards Roost.

Okay, thanks. We don't get up that way often because it is 2.5 hours for us. That entire area is fun and I can't wait to go back. Thanks for watching.

Think I had rather go up your way and come down than go up the way you came down think it would be a lot of fun if it was dry and not wet
I can’t wait to go back and run it again. Thanks for watching.
