Jones Gap State Park: Part 1 / The Waterfalls
Nick is in town and we have been saving the Jones Gap State Park video so he can be a part of it. Nick, Mark (@markmixon) and myself have spent so much time in this valley training for our big runs and it has a special place in our hearts. It has difficult terrain and challenging climbs. It even holds the title for South Carolina’s “Hardest Hike” (Part 2). Rainbow Falls is a difficult climb but worth the effort. Jones Gap Falls is smaller but is a perfect place to unwind with its peaceful surroundings. This is a great state park but has limited parking. You will need reservations but don’t let that stop you from exploring the park. Thanks for watching.

    Mt Sterling Road to Cataloochee is a nice easy ride. You travel through what looks like a Robert Frost poem. Pretty, scenic and no boulders! Glad others enjoy rough terrain. Woo. Love back roads, but there is definitely something grand about easy.

  • @rebeccawatkins390
    @rebeccawatkins390 15 дней назад

    Oh my goodness. We took this road yesterday. We have taken a lot of back roads, but this one was horrifying. After crossing the first dip through water we traveled on. We encountered another area with rough terrain. Crossing huge boulders with car suspended across them. A bumpy ride would be an understatement. Next we arrived at another boulder area with yet another suspended ride. When we came to the next boulder lined section we decided to turn around. Our 4 wheel drive kia did great considering the terrain, thank goodness for that. I dreaded the thought of having to gi back through what we jad just encountered. All I can say is don't do it! There are lots of well maintained roads with spectacular views and not dangerous. I would give one a 10 on a scale of terrifying, with 1 being not scary. Woo. An adventure.
