Is there a machine to do this price adjustment in the beginning? Is there a long line to talk to a person? Would the price be cheaper to do Yamanote line with Suica than with the 72 hr pass? I saw your answer. To go to a place that start with a JR, go to an agent and she’ll calculate for me. Then insert that ticket when enter the JR. Then I use that ticket to exit?
Sorry. I typed wrong. Would the price of 72 hr pass and pay the difference with Suica be any cheaper than just use Suica ? This is for the trip from my hotel to Shinjuku Station that uses Yamanote Line.
Ya basically since you would start the ride with a JR line you can either buy the ticket at the machine from the JR line to Tokyo metro line or have the staff to calculate for you. No there’s no line coz the local just beeps right through. If you take more than 2 Tokyo metro rides a day, it’s worth it. If you take only one Tokyo metro ride a day then it’s not worth it. That said in Tokyo, I easily took like 4 to 6 train rides a day with a Tokyo metro pass.

No you don’t have to get out of the station first and then get back in with Tokyo metro pass. Since your first station is a JR, assuming you exit at a Tokyo metro station, at yiur shin Okubo station, you go to the gate with a staff and tell them where you are going, then they will calculate the fare that’s not covered by Tokyo metro for you and they will give u a little train ticket. can I use it on toei BUS?
I don’t think so. It’s for Tokyo metro and Toei subway only. For bus, you can use Suica or Pasmo IC card
i bought the tokyo metro pass at ueno station for 800yen cash only.
@Szhinko Szhinko, thanks! good to know its possible to buy at the station. Was 800 yen for 24 hrs, 48 or 72 hrs?
@@INeedToTravel 24 hrs
@@szhinkoszhinko5006 thanks so much for sharing! 🙏
Hello, if you have any questions, feel free to ask here. I would be more than happy to help! 👍
This pass is not useful for yamanote line, correct? If my Airbnb is on shin-okubo station (yamanote line), is there any point in buying this pass? Or should I use Suica instead?
@@ryanyuk I forgot which one is Yamamoto line. Does the subway line show a symbol as a color ring with an alphabet inside? If yes it’s Tokyo metro and the pass will cover. If not it doesn’t cover
@@INeedToTravel it’s the Jr line that loops Tokyo in circle
@@ryanyuk thanks I’m learning. I looked up on Apple map and it didn’t recommend a Tokyo metro line station there. The next bet is walk to the nearest Tokyo metro station and take that
Hi, my accomodation is in asakasa minato city, can I use this subway ticket pass from Haneda Airport to my accommodation?thank you
Hard to find a machine with QR code. The hassle might not be worth it.
@eximinion, I don’t recall seeing any Tokyo metro station that doesn’t offer a machine with QR code. Could you share which station is hard to find a machine with QR code?
Weird comment. They’re everywhere…
