One benefit I found with Melatonin it doesn't necessarily stop the tinnitus but getting to sleep can often be an issue with tinnitus, at least when talking Melatonin before sleep you can get to sleep more easily.

My ENT prescribed me Ginkgo Biloba and my house doctor Magnesium. So I am taking both.
I have the feeling my Tinnitus has improved a bit since then, something between 10% and 20%, depending on the days and hours. So now I wouldn't know which one of both it helped me.

I have had tinnitus for several years. I would describe it as a high frequency sound, almost like crickets chirping in the night. It was caused by shooting my handgun without hearing protection. Three days ago, a SECOND, lower pitch sound started in my left ear only, which has caused me great distress. This was not brought on by anything obvious. I just started noticing it. Ben, thank you for all you do in trying to help people with this ailment. It really can be debilitating to some people. For those suffering, you are not alone. I wish you all the very best.

ARCHES TINNITUS FORMULA with Gingko Max 26/7 has worked for me. Started about 3 years ago. First tried a combination of Niacin, Lecithin, and B1 which lowered the ringing, but the Niacin caused some flushing of the skin. Then used Helichrysum, an essential oil, but I didn't dilute it, got a skin irritation around the mastoid bone area. Then I found Arches. Within a half hour it lowered the ringing to a hiss. Continued taking 1 capsule every 8 hours for around 3 months. Then the hissing increased. So I backed off. Went to once every 24 hours, for about 4 months. Currently am taking it once a week. It has also helped my vision immensely.

Vinpocetine, made from a small flower from Eastern Europe or Russia has helped me to quiet down the buzzing. Much better.
Originally, my tinnitus was two very dissonant notes: high F Sharp and G sounded together.
    Eeeek.... really bad. 😞
Now my tinnitus is down to a soft fuzzy noise. In some situations, I can't even hear it.
What you eat also helps. Try not to eat dried fruit or anything with too much salts in it.
    Be blessed 😇.

I found in my case, the ringing in the ears is caused by a toxic HVAC system. When I turn on my A/C I am pulling in the air from the two apartments above me. If, I don't turn on the air, the ringing is 75% less. It is horrible, the previous tenants were heavy smokers, the lady above me uses Fragrance plug-ins. It is extremely loud level of ringing in both ears, these techniques do nothing for me. I am being poisoned, by the running of the HVAC system. I asked the neighbor twice, above me to stop using the fragrance. She has not stopped, I can hardly function because the ringing is so loud.

I'm not familiar with this one. It’s also helpful to keep in mind that the FDA doesn’t regulate how supplements are advertised, thereby allowing for many of the supplements to make false and deceptive marketing claims. We do have a blog article outlining some of the most popular "supplements for tinnitus" and our opinion on them. Check it out here: treblehealth.com/most-popular-supplements-for-tinnitus/

Was looking for comments about GABA so thank you. Just bought some 750mg recommended by online Dr.(of what I don't know. Same Dr. recommended that tapping tech. Behind ear. Didn't keep that up. Don't think it would've helped.). Some commenters said took it 2x a day. Spendy. How much & how often do you take it? If I recall what I looked about it, it is a neurotransmitter inhibitor. Sounded scary but actually supposed to help dementia. Sounded backwards to me😂 My tinnitus is due to a head injury 🤕

I developed Tinnitus this July after my sister had a traumatic experience. I went to a ENT and no hearing loss at all. I went to a chiropractor took rays and I have arthritis in my neck and it’s straight back not curved. When I move my neck side to side I hear tinnitus louder and when I touch my sinuses and temples it gets loud. Not one doctor knows what is wrong. It’s very frustrating and annoying. Nothing is helping so far. I’m also using sound therapy.

I think there are so many NIH studies, and some of them do support the supplements, and there are so many causes of Tinnitus that it can be difficult to get good results on studies (there are too many variables and causes). What I think is that people could buy one bottle of each, give them month. If they haven't helped in the 30 days, then discontinue and try something else.
