A few months back in Spring when the fandom still had its optimism for a Summer release of chapters 3 & 4, I was starting to get genuinely concerned that I wouldn't be able to finish this thing before they came out lol.

OH YEAH- The part where you're talking about Papyrus mentioning green grass from where he and Sans came from before Snowdin- It's likely a jokey jab at the sprites of them during the OG Undertale kickstarter! they were on a green patch of grass :D So it's like a double layered reference I guess, of sounding like he's talking about Deltarune......but actually being extremely literal in that they were originally on the Kickstarter page.
I've heard the kickstarter thing before, although I forgot to mention it in the video. I'm not quite sure if those pages are canon? I think I remember hearing someone mention that Toby said they weren't, but then again people make up a lot of stuff Toby's supposedly said to support their theory.

Finally, someone who acknowledges alphys has a thing for asgore! I've seen people claim meta tons lying about that during people's first playthrough all when even alphys is blushing during the whole thing. Alphys has to be at least bisexual, maybe more.

As someone who has participated in the creation of long videos that pack multiple videos in one tome of an upload, this is very impressive. I just saw Molly's metaanalysis of chapters 1 and 2 so I'm excited to see what you got to say.
This was great background noise and a very insightful video! It reminded me of why I consider the OG Undertale a masterful art piece. Art makes people connect, the way Undertale and Toby fox have facilitated that connection is nothing short of unimaginably extraordinary.

The Community part of the video is excellent in showcasing all the various fan works. And of course, as of August 2024, the fandom has not really slowed down at all in terms of what it offers to everyone, since there have been major strives like PS!Outertale being released just a couple weeks ago, being another full-length UT fangame for people to play not even a year after Undertale Yellow dropped. And although is not on the small scale as the former full length fangame, is still a pretty enjoyable experience to go through if you want to sort of re-experience Undertale again for the first time. And the fandom still has more to go for this year since stuff like Underevent has yet to happen, and of course the new official Deltarune Chapters will release and bring about a new era of fan content for the Deltarune side of things.
Definitely gotta check out PS!Outertale, and I'm pretty excited for Underevent this year too. Crazy to me how the community's so big that it's basically got its own E3 for fan-projects.

5:50:29 Deltarune isn't a direct squel (and is seemingly in a alternate universe) so it could take place at any point in time. Also, Regarding Queen and King knowing each other - if you think of Darkners as characters in any media, they can totally have backstory and connections before they actually existed. The same way a DnD character has a history and age, despite only being officially as old as your first session
Eh, the whole "Different world, different rules" thing feels like a little bit of a cop-out. Obviously Undertale and Deltarune are separate worlds, there's no doubt about that, but wouldn't they still match up timeline-wise? Undertale's set somewhere around 2100, but Deltarune doesn't seem to be. Everyone is older, despite the world around them being clearly meant to emulate our current day, which should be the past. It's confusing, and I feel like there's gotta be more to it than just the timeline being conveniently wacky. I have heard of the "Last Tuesday"-ism theory regarding dark worlds, which is pretty much what you said. Darkners have their lives and their histories created for them the day they pop into existence, and are none the wiser. When a new fountain opens, already existing darkners have their memories ret-conned to include the people from those fountains, like how King and Queen are a divorced couple and how Spamton knows Jevil. The only caveat I can think of for that is how if you fight Jevil instead of sparing him, he'll mention a queen returning. He could be referring to a second, other person who is coincidentally also named Queen and happens to know King and has been to the Card Kingdom, but that seems like a technicality that wouldn't make sense outside of over-complicating the story just for the sake of it.

I have watched through all of this video in one sitting the moment i came across it on my recommended and I've got to say, it was all worth it! Just by watching this video alone someone can go from not heart of undertale/deltarune before to the average gremlin with a moss addiction in this beautiful fandom. The only slight problem I had with it was that there weren't any apparent spoiler warnings for some sessions. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the general down-to-earth vibes of this video from the get-go with the disclaimers, telling that you've made some mistakes and owned up to them, trying to correct them as the video went. Compared to Undyne who's actually trying to stop you because she knows how much of a threat you are. And is fighting you not for just the hope of Monster buts Humans as well knowing that you clearly won't stop even after you wipe their population clean and reach the surface. Cause you'll just go after humans too due to being THAT power hungry and curious to see what happens. But she's overshadowed by a skeleton who gets mischaracterized by the fandom as well as has way too many fights centered around him even if those with character within the game in his position. Yes, we have fangames not solely centered around the Sans fight that focus more on a story and character building. But we don't have as many of those compared to the many Sans fight that exist in this fandom.
Yeah, I think a lot of people get caught up in the (admittedly very awesome) dramatics of the fight and forget why it's actually happening. Sans isn't a hero, if he was he would've been right there alongside Undyne to beat you into the floor. He's just doing the absolute bare minimum to keep his timeline from ending.
There is also some missable dialog in No Mercy. Reaching the bridge in Waterfall where Monster Kid appears at without killing enough monsters will have a dialog box appear saying that the presence of x monsters can still be felt left (x being the amount left to kill) and to not proceed yet. Proceeding anyways is one of the ways to abort a No Mercy route into a Neutral Route.
Heavy speculation, but I think I can square up your timeline question about Undertale's present occurring in the future while Deltarune's present looks like it could occur in 201X. Deltarune's world is different from Undertale's -- Toby was not leading us astray there -- but Deltarune could be a parallel world with a version of the Underground in its history where key events resolved differently. In particular, if Asriel in his nervousness didn't agree to go through with Chara's plan (got the compassionate adults involved, for example, though the particulars may not matter) then they both could have survived. A willing human cooperating with the monsters could have potentially found a way to break the Barrier without any bloodshed (especially if the Royal Scientist helped... which was W.D. Gaster, at that time, no?), and thus freed the monsters before the long time delay that occurred in Undertale. I doubt Chara would have agreed to act as ambassador for the monsters due to their hatred for humanity. It's possible that in Deltarune's timeline the war between humans and monsters resumed, and the monsters defeated some/all of humanity and reclaimed the surface. We haven't seen any other humans in DR yet. That line from UT about monster offspring gaining power from their parents' SOULs as they age could explain Asriel being old enough to be at university; monster kids might just age faster than humans. Maybe it's more pronounced when it's a *boss* monster kid. Kris would then be a version of Chara who is "mostly reformed", or potentially still has an unknown plan but is smart enough to keep their violent tendencies (mostly) under the radar. In fact, I wonder whether "Gaster is the same between UT/DR" implication is actually just a *massive red herring*. The track "ANOTHER HIM" could turn out to be a very obvious nudge in retrospect towards it being a different version of Gaster. UT's Gaster fell into his own creation; DR's Gaster may have achieved the monsters' freedom early enough that it averted those experiments... at least at first. I think there's a real possibility that Gaster is in fact somewhere within the Hometown bunker, continuing to carry out experiments with darkness. The Underground itself might actually have been an ordinary cave system turned into a Dark World, sustained by the CORE converting geothermal energy into magical electricity in lieu of a Dark Fountain. There are some big holes in this crackpot theory... if Kris were actually Chara, there would need to be memory loss involved, whether accidental or otherwise, to explain their asking when their horns would grow in. If the Underground was really a Dark World, that only raises more questions about how different Monsters and Darkners truly are, and why monsters can't use magic on the surface. And if it is the case that monsters defeated humans to reclaim the surface, that would either require Toriel or Asgore borrowing Chara's SOUL to accomplish that. Although, it would be very, very interesting if the reason Kris can tear their SOUL out and continue to function turns out to be that their body was injected with Determination from an external source in order to carry out that plan...
The funny thing about the weird route ferris wheel poster cutscene is that its entirely optional. You dont even have to touch the poster to proceed through the route, just talk to the freeze ring addison and youre good. you also can say its horrible and the route still proceeds, menaing the purpose of that conversation isnt what we say, but that we can read her mind which in this context is creepy.
The craziest part of this whole video is that your channel only has 826 subs, this is the type of video you'd expect from a massive channel that upload 1-2 videos a year. Proud to say I watched the whole thing.
That's fair honestly. 14-year-old me started getting pretty lazy with the editing around the time he got to editing Undertale's pacifist ending, and I'm still kinda mad at him for it. The plague of my "I'll just let the scene play out" crutch permeates throughout a lot of Deltarune's section too, but I think the UT pacifist ending is where it's at its worst. If there's any part of the video I could go back and redo now, it would be that one.

6:07:35 Ralsei is called a Dark Prince and a Dark-World being. To my knowledge he is never referred to as a darkener. Why would the game dance around calling him a darkener if he was one? He may not be a lightener, but he's definitely not a darkener.
I have heard the "3rd being" idea be brought up before, but it felt like it swung a little too close to fanfic territory to warrant including it here. Not enough evidence to go on, and it's mostly constructed of speculation.
...wait. i've had this theory for a good few months that ralsei is actually a titan and this just gave me more evidence towards it. omg. he doesn't turn to stone, he can traverse through dark worlds (he disintegrates when he's down in battle so he's most definitely not a lightner like some theories say), the three heroes of legend are said to ONLY appear AFTER the roaring has begun, so it wouldnt be crazy for there to be some titans already out there. and my biggest piece of evidence. the legend itself says that the three heroes are a human, a monster, and a prince from the dark. a human (an incredibly broad category), a monster (an incredibly broad category that could be literally anyone in hometown) and a prince from the dark (a specific ass title?? for no reason????? also this implies that the legend is/was written by a royalist) i think that ralsei just straight up lied about the three heroes, and they should be a human a monster and a titan. it makes more sense with the mildly broad categories. he changed it to prince of the dark so he'd be necessary for the prophecy, and also because revealing his species would maybe make kris and susie distrust him since he's literally the type of being that they're actively trying to not make spawn in. it also tracks because. literally just look at the scene after the spamton neo fight. mf wants to avoid as much unpleasant thoughts as possible
I meant it more in relation to Chara, and how they were treated with love and kindness whereas all the humans after them get hit with death and murder lol.
I feel like The Roaring and Dark Worlds in general is an allusion to escapism, i.e. videogames, tv, fantasy, etc. Fun if it's in moderation, but if in excess, can consume your life and turn it upside down, almost if you're "lost in and endless nightmare" while your fantasies become guilty pleasures as anything important gets put off. Almost if those characters "become statues" in nature while your life breaks down. Additionally, the lyrics of "Don't Forget" state "And the places that you know seem like fantasy". Possibly referencing how all those methods of escapism can control your life. with "There's a light inside your soul that’s still shining in the cold. With the truth, the promise in our hearts" potentially meaning a sliver of hope of returning back to reality, with the promise, the determination, to not suffer. I don't know if this will be relevant but as an English Major I thought it neat to say this. Also "When the light is running low and the shadows start to grow" maybe being literal in terms of doing these activities beyond the amount of time you're supposed to do them (or something, i didn't think too hard on this one).
i can't believe i forgot to mention the escapism oh my god Yeah, I gotta agree on that. Escapism is obviously a pretty prevalent theme throughout the game, especially in Chapter 2. Never thought about how Don't Forget could tie into it though! Kinda reminds me of an old scrapped segment I had planned where I was going to determine who was singing the song, if it was anyone in-universe at all.
well, what a ride, nice 5h long summary that i could "watch" without watching only due to me knowing the game almost as good as the palm of my hand, it was funny how you suddenly stayed silent to let a scene play and yet me to know exactly what was happening. its funny how the first 5 hours were "useless" for me since what ive said before but even so, they keep me well company while working, your voice and the way you talk its really nice ^^ its curious how you decided to first explain in detail the story and event of both games to then start in theory territory, never seen that before. Also, THANKS! when i discovered snowgrave route on accidente on a youtube video a couple months ago, i wanted to see a video summarizing how it got discovered in first place, i knew it was treated as an elaborate joke but never knew the details, but never found anyone doing it. Who could say id find it here? as Iroh says, destiny is a funny thing and if we keep our heart open it can lead on way we never imagine xd a little disclaimer, what im going to say could sound a little pretentious and arrogant, but thats, for any reason, what im trying to be. At the end to the day, with all this of crafting theories, the more we are doing it, the better since i can get to a conclution easy that many didnt but 99% of the things tha many other people built before that wouldve never occured to me. With all that im meaning to say that i cant believe people miss some important info that debunks almost completely the whole "Ralsei is a lightner" and by extend the "Ralsei is Asriel" I think that those two theories cant be real, you yourself made some points and for me there are two who are the mainly important ones. 1: Ralsei appearing on the unused classroom or the computer lab after sealing the fountain 2: the textbox. While doing a mental list on what improvements Deltarune has compared to Undertale, being that: The environmental damage instead of getting on a one-enemy-turn-fight. Enemies not spawning randomly but actually being seen (this could be a downgrade depending on your tastes) Colored enemies on the battles. The enemies actually attacking (i mean, moving their hands or something to perform an attack), not every attack and this is not completely new, but waaaaay more than in Undertale. The creativity of attacks like moving the box. The whole combat system with tp, magic and more than one turn. Speaking of witch, grazing, pure dopamine xd And last but not less important, the textbox sprites being colored... wait do they, no, at the beginning of the game all sprites are black and white, like in Undertale... have i imagine it?... no there it is. Ralsei, Lancer and King sprites are colored. (im not schizophrenic, believe me) Oh i guess its colored on the dark world... But Susie, Noelle and Berdly sprites are colorless... Oh thats it, all lighteners, whether they are on the light world or the dark world have colorless sprites on the textbox, while all darkners has colored sprites and Ralsei has color on his sprite, debunking completely (for me) those two theories. I know im not the only nor the first one to have noticed this, but its supricing seeing how many people misses it, yet again, not implying im better nor smarter. Finally, i really enjoyed the community segment, when this game came out i was really deep in it, seeing really goods animations, games, theories, AUs, etc. but with time i grew apart from it, being all in in foros wasnt really my thing, but it wasnt till recently, when i played CH2 that i didnt fell in love with Tobys work for a 2nd time to the point of wanting to engage with people who feel like me, so now, i (sadly) am part of the reddit community, and let me say, i'll check out some of the AUs you mentioned. With little more to say, great job man, liked a lot your work.

You have created something genuinely and truly astounding. Both in quality and quantity, especially quantity. The ONLY TWO other videos I have ever seen that get around this far up in length is the Wendigoon Conspiracy iceberg (which was a compilation of 9 videos, and was reading from a previously made iceberg with further research involved) and the Star Wars Clone War overview (I think around 10 hours and by a huge creator) but I genuinely believe that in the runtime of this video, you have without shadow of a doubt PACKED with well structured, well paced (not once did I think you were beating a dead horse), niche (that community section reached deep), and overall well made content (with backing music to match holy shit) made with a script that is bleeding with the feeling of just how personal this must have been, and how much effort you put in. Although I admittedly only listened to this while playing Satisfactory, all of what you put together has resulted in one of the single largest pieces on this website, with in an ineffable quality to match; rivaling that of some of the largest creators on this platform. Astounding.

Here's a good question for the Kris knighters out there: If Kris is the Knight, why are they trying to end the world with the Roaring? Is the _player_ the Angel, and if so why does Kris go against us at the end of each chapter so far if they're the Knight? Unless we're not really the Angel and another character is...
I'm not huge on the Player Angel theory, to be honest. There might be some connection between the Knight and the Angel, but I don't really think it can be proven yet outside of speculation. My main hurdle with the Kris Knight theory is how on earth they found the time to make any of the fountains? They would've had to do both Castle Town and Card Kingdom right before the events of the story, and they were with us the whole time when the Cyber World fountain was created. Berdly and Noelle both recall going in there to sit down and study, so the fountain had to have been created while they were in the room, something Kris couldn't have done.

OH YEAH- The part where you're talking about Papyrus mentioning green grass from where he and Sans came from before Snowdin- It's likely a jokey jab at the sprites of them during the OG Undertale kickstarter! they were on a green patch of grass :D So it's like a double layered reference I guess, of sounding like he's talking about Deltarune......but actually being extremely literal in that they were originally on the Kickstarter page.
I've heard the kickstarter thing before, although I forgot to mention it in the video. I'm not quite sure if those pages are canon? I think I remember hearing someone mention that Toby said they weren't, but then again people make up a lot of stuff Toby's supposedly said to support their theory.

And yeah, I know I had the obligatory disclaimer beforehand, but I really wanted to highlight the best parts of this community. They so often get overshadowed by gross people or controversy, and I wanted to be able to just finish off the video with a little love and joy, y'know?
The Community part of the video is excellent in showcasing all the various fan works.
And of course, as of August 2024, the fandom has not really slowed down at all in terms of what it offers to everyone, since there have been major strives like PS!Outertale being released just a couple weeks ago, being another full-length UT fangame for people to play not even a year after Undertale Yellow dropped. And although is not on the small scale as the former full length fangame, is still a pretty enjoyable experience to go through if you want to sort of re-experience Undertale again for the first time.
And the fandom still has more to go for this year since stuff like Underevent has yet to happen, and of course the new official Deltarune Chapters will release and bring about a new era of fan content for the Deltarune side of things.
Definitely gotta check out PS!Outertale, and I'm pretty excited for Underevent this year too. Crazy to me how the community's so big that it's basically got its own E3 for fan-projects.

5:50:29 Deltarune isn't a direct squel (and is seemingly in a alternate universe) so it could take place at any point in time.
Also, Regarding Queen and King knowing each other - if you think of Darkners as characters in any media, they can totally have backstory and connections before they actually existed. The same way a DnD character has a history and age, despite only being officially as old as your first session
Eh, the whole "Different world, different rules" thing feels like a little bit of a cop-out. Obviously Undertale and Deltarune are separate worlds, there's no doubt about that, but wouldn't they still match up timeline-wise? Undertale's set somewhere around 2100, but Deltarune doesn't seem to be. Everyone is older, despite the world around them being clearly meant to emulate our current day, which should be the past. It's confusing, and I feel like there's gotta be more to it than just the timeline being conveniently wacky.
I have heard of the "Last Tuesday"-ism theory regarding dark worlds, which is pretty much what you said. Darkners have their lives and their histories created for them the day they pop into existence, and are none the wiser. When a new fountain opens, already existing darkners have their memories ret-conned to include the people from those fountains, like how King and Queen are a divorced couple and how Spamton knows Jevil.
The only caveat I can think of for that is how if you fight Jevil instead of sparing him, he'll mention a queen returning. He could be referring to a second, other person who is coincidentally also named Queen and happens to know King and has been to the Card Kingdom, but that seems like a technicality that wouldn't make sense outside of over-complicating the story just for the sake of it.

I have watched through all of this video in one sitting the moment i came across it on my recommended and I've got to say, it was all worth it! Just by watching this video alone someone can go from not heart of undertale/deltarune before to the average gremlin with a moss addiction in this beautiful fandom. The only slight problem I had with it was that there weren't any apparent spoiler warnings for some sessions. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the general down-to-earth vibes of this video from the get-go with the disclaimers, telling that you've made some mistakes and owned up to them, trying to correct them as the video went.

Compared to Undyne who's actually trying to stop you because she knows how much of a threat you are. And is fighting you not for just the hope of Monster buts Humans as well knowing that you clearly won't stop even after you wipe their population clean and reach the surface. Cause you'll just go after humans too due to being THAT power hungry and curious to see what happens. But she's overshadowed by a skeleton who gets mischaracterized by the fandom as well as has way too many fights centered around him even if those with character within the game in his position.
Yes, we have fangames not solely centered around the Sans fight that focus more on a story and character building. But we don't have as many of those compared to the many Sans fight that exist in this fandom.
Yeah, I think a lot of people get caught up in the (admittedly very awesome) dramatics of the fight and forget why it's actually happening. Sans isn't a hero, if he was he would've been right there alongside Undyne to beat you into the floor. He's just doing the absolute bare minimum to keep his timeline from ending.
There is also some missable dialog in No Mercy. Reaching the bridge in Waterfall where Monster Kid appears at without killing enough monsters will have a dialog box appear saying that the presence of x monsters can still be felt left (x being the amount left to kill) and to not proceed yet. Proceeding anyways is one of the ways to abort a No Mercy route into a Neutral Route.

Heavy speculation, but I think I can square up your timeline question about Undertale's present occurring in the future while Deltarune's present looks like it could occur in 201X.
Deltarune's world is different from Undertale's -- Toby was not leading us astray there -- but Deltarune could be a parallel world with a version of the Underground in its history where key events resolved differently.
In particular, if Asriel in his nervousness didn't agree to go through with Chara's plan (got the compassionate adults involved, for example, though the particulars may not matter) then they both could have survived. A willing human cooperating with the monsters could have potentially found a way to break the Barrier without any bloodshed (especially if the Royal Scientist helped... which was W.D. Gaster, at that time, no?), and thus freed the monsters before the long time delay that occurred in Undertale.
I doubt Chara would have agreed to act as ambassador for the monsters due to their hatred for humanity. It's possible that in Deltarune's timeline the war between humans and monsters resumed, and the monsters defeated some/all of humanity and reclaimed the surface. We haven't seen any other humans in DR yet. That line from UT about monster offspring gaining power from their parents' SOULs as they age could explain Asriel being old enough to be at university; monster kids might just age faster than humans. Maybe it's more pronounced when it's a *boss* monster kid. Kris would then be a version of Chara who is "mostly reformed", or potentially still has an unknown plan but is smart enough to keep their violent tendencies (mostly) under the radar.
In fact, I wonder whether "Gaster is the same between UT/DR" implication is actually just a *massive red herring*. The track "ANOTHER HIM" could turn out to be a very obvious nudge in retrospect towards it being a different version of Gaster. UT's Gaster fell into his own creation; DR's Gaster may have achieved the monsters' freedom early enough that it averted those experiments... at least at first.
I think there's a real possibility that Gaster is in fact somewhere within the Hometown bunker, continuing to carry out experiments with darkness. The Underground itself might actually have been an ordinary cave system turned into a Dark World, sustained by the CORE converting geothermal energy into magical electricity in lieu of a Dark Fountain.
There are some big holes in this crackpot theory... if Kris were actually Chara, there would need to be memory loss involved, whether accidental or otherwise, to explain their asking when their horns would grow in. If the Underground was really a Dark World, that only raises more questions about how different Monsters and Darkners truly are, and why monsters can't use magic on the surface. And if it is the case that monsters defeated humans to reclaim the surface, that would either require Toriel or Asgore borrowing Chara's SOUL to accomplish that. Although, it would be very, very interesting if the reason Kris can tear their SOUL out and continue to function turns out to be that their body was injected with Determination from an external source in order to carry out that plan...
The funny thing about the weird route ferris wheel poster cutscene is that its entirely optional. You dont even have to touch the poster to proceed through the route, just talk to the freeze ring addison and youre good. you also can say its horrible and the route still proceeds, menaing the purpose of that conversation isnt what we say, but that we can read her mind which in this context is creepy.

That's fair honestly. 14-year-old me started getting pretty lazy with the editing around the time he got to editing Undertale's pacifist ending, and I'm still kinda mad at him for it.
The plague of my "I'll just let the scene play out" crutch permeates throughout a lot of Deltarune's section too, but I think the UT pacifist ending is where it's at its worst. If there's any part of the video I could go back and redo now, it would be that one.

6:07:35 Ralsei is called a Dark Prince and a Dark-World being. To my knowledge he is never referred to as a darkener. Why would the game dance around calling him a darkener if he was one? He may not be a lightener, but he's definitely not a darkener.
I have heard the "3rd being" idea be brought up before, but it felt like it swung a little too close to fanfic territory to warrant including it here. Not enough evidence to go on, and it's mostly constructed of speculation.
...wait. i've had this theory for a good few months that ralsei is actually a titan and this just gave me more evidence towards it. omg.
he doesn't turn to stone, he can traverse through dark worlds (he disintegrates when he's down in battle so he's most definitely not a lightner like some theories say), the three heroes of legend are said to ONLY appear AFTER the roaring has begun, so it wouldnt be crazy for there to be some titans already out there.
and my biggest piece of evidence. the legend itself says that the three heroes are a human, a monster, and a prince from the dark. a human (an incredibly broad category), a monster (an incredibly broad category that could be literally anyone in hometown) and a prince from the dark (a specific ass title?? for no reason????? also this implies that the legend is/was written by a royalist)
i think that ralsei just straight up lied about the three heroes, and they should be a human a monster and a titan. it makes more sense with the mildly broad categories. he changed it to prince of the dark so he'd be necessary for the prophecy, and also because revealing his species would maybe make kris and susie distrust him since he's literally the type of being that they're actively trying to not make spawn in. it also tracks because. literally just look at the scene after the spamton neo fight. mf wants to avoid as much unpleasant thoughts as possible

I meant it more in relation to Chara, and how they were treated with love and kindness whereas all the humans after them get hit with death and murder lol.
I feel like The Roaring and Dark Worlds in general is an allusion to escapism, i.e. videogames, tv, fantasy, etc. Fun if it's in moderation, but if in excess, can consume your life and turn it upside down, almost if you're "lost in and endless nightmare" while your fantasies become guilty pleasures as anything important gets put off. Almost if those characters "become statues" in nature while your life breaks down.
Additionally, the lyrics of "Don't Forget" state "And the places that you know seem like fantasy". Possibly referencing how all those methods of escapism can control your life. with "There's a light inside your soul that’s still shining in the cold. With the truth, the promise in our hearts" potentially meaning a sliver of hope of returning back to reality, with the promise, the determination, to not suffer. I don't know if this will be relevant but as an English Major I thought it neat to say this.
Also "When the light is running low and the shadows start to grow" maybe being literal in terms of doing these activities beyond the amount of time you're supposed to do them (or something, i didn't think too hard on this one).

Yeah, I gotta agree on that. Escapism is obviously a pretty prevalent theme throughout the game, especially in Chapter 2. Never thought about how Don't Forget could tie into it though! Kinda reminds me of an old scrapped segment I had planned where I was going to determine who was singing the song, if it was anyone in-universe at all.
UT has checkpoints. If you dont save at certain points, you will respawn at a checkpoint.

well, what a ride, nice 5h long summary that i could "watch" without watching only due to me knowing the game almost as good as the palm of my hand, it was funny how you suddenly stayed silent to let a scene play and yet me to know exactly what was happening.

its curious how you decided to first explain in detail the story and event of both games to then start in theory territory, never seen that before. Also, THANKS! when i discovered snowgrave route on accidente on a youtube video a couple months ago, i wanted to see a video summarizing how it got discovered in first place, i knew it was treated as an elaborate joke but never knew the details, but never found anyone doing it. a little disclaimer, what im going to say could sound a little pretentious and arrogant, but thats, for any reason, what im trying to be. At the end to the day, with all this of crafting theories, the more we are doing it, the better since i can get to a conclution easy that many didnt but 99% of the things tha many other people built before that wouldve never occured to me. With all that im meaning to say that i cant believe people miss some important info that debunks almost completely the whole "Ralsei is a lightner" and by extend the "Ralsei is Asriel" I think that those two theories cant be real, you yourself made some points and for me there are two who are the mainly important ones.
1: Ralsei appearing on the unused classroom or the computer lab after sealing the fountain
2: the textbox.
While doing a mental list on what improvements Deltarune has compared to Undertale, being that:
The environmental damage instead of getting on a one-enemy-turn-fight.
Enemies not spawning randomly but actually being seen (this could be a downgrade depending on your tastes)
Colored enemies on the battles.
The enemies actually attacking (i mean, moving their hands or something to perform an attack), not every attack and this is not completely new, but waaaaay more than in Undertale.
The creativity of attacks like moving the box.
The whole combat system with tp, magic and more than one turn.
Speaking of witch, grazing, pure dopamine xd
And last but not less important, the textbox sprites being colored... wait do they, no, at the beginning of the game all sprites are black and white, like in Undertale... have i imagine it?... no there it is. Ralsei, Lancer and King sprites are colored. (im not schizophrenic, believe me) Oh i guess its colored on the dark world... But Susie, Noelle and Berdly sprites are colorless... Oh thats it, all lighteners, whether they are on the light world or the dark world have colorless sprites on the textbox, while all darkners has colored sprites and Ralsei has color on his sprite, debunking completely (for me) those two theories.
I know im not the only nor the first one to have noticed this, but its supricing seeing how many people misses it, yet again, not implying im better nor smarter.
Finally, i really enjoyed the community segment, when this game came out i was really deep in it, seeing really goods animations, games, theories, AUs, etc. but with time i grew apart from it, being all in in foros wasnt really my thing, but it wasnt till recently, when i played CH2 that i didnt fell in love with Tobys work for a 2nd time to the point of wanting to engage with people who feel like me, so now, i (sadly) am part of the reddit community, and let me say, i'll check out some of the AUs you mentioned.
With little more to say, great job man, liked a lot your work.

oh wow i was thinking in watching a undertale/deltarune lore vid some minutes ago, didn't think there would be a vid that was released yesterday
You have created something genuinely and truly astounding. Both in quality and quantity, especially quantity. The ONLY TWO other videos I have ever seen that get around this far up in length is the Wendigoon Conspiracy iceberg (which was a compilation of 9 videos, and was reading from a previously made iceberg with further research involved) and the Star Wars Clone War overview (I think around 10 hours and by a huge creator) but I genuinely believe that in the runtime of this video, you have without shadow of a doubt PACKED with well structured, well paced (not once did I think you were beating a dead horse), niche (that community section reached deep), and overall well made content (with backing music to match holy shit) made with a script that is bleeding with the feeling of just how personal this must have been, and how much effort you put in. Although I admittedly only listened to this while playing Satisfactory, all of what you put together has resulted in one of the single largest pieces on this website, with in an ineffable quality to match; rivaling that of some of the largest creators on this platform. Astounding.
Damn, you nearly got me crying with this one.

Here's a good question for the Kris knighters out there:
If Kris is the Knight, why are they trying to end the world with the Roaring?
Is the _player_ the Angel, and if so why does Kris go against us at the end of each chapter so far if they're the Knight?
Unless we're not really the Angel and another character is...
I'm not huge on the Player Angel theory, to be honest. There might be some connection between the Knight and the Angel, but I don't really think it can be proven yet outside of speculation. My main hurdle with the Kris Knight theory is how on earth they found the time to make any of the fountains?
They would've had to do both Castle Town and Card Kingdom right before the events of the story, and they were with us the whole time when the Cyber World fountain was created. Berdly and Noelle both recall going in there to sit down and study, so the fountain had to have been created while they were in the room, something Kris couldn't have done.
I'm not a Kris Knighter, but my immediate awnser to your first question is: ARE they trying to end the world?
