- [Reupload] We went on a spontaneous trip to Universal Studios and I wanted to share my experience. It didn't go as expected (because I came in with high expectations) so I filmed a separate sit down chat and interwove it into the vlog. We made some rookie mistakes but I have some critique that I feel is valid. I've been to Disneyland quite a bit, but I would not classify myself as a Disney Adult... I'm a normie when it comes to theme parks. Now if they opened a LOTR park or land somewhere in the US.... SIGN ME UP.

I hate overly crowded places, such a shame that the lines were so long! The sets looked amazing though and I'm glad the butterbeer was good! Gonna have to try it myself someday. 😊
Yea ngl it’s amazing during off season and weekdays but NEVER go during school breaks. I have made that mistake before and never again

I'm obsessed with the space buns! I'd love to take my service dog in training to Universal once he's public access cleared. Looking at those crowds, it feels like it might be a while, tho! ☀
People are saying it’s better when you go not on a popular week. So maybe if house able to find out when that is you can try!

I don’t have plans to go back to Disneyland right now. I have been to Disneyland more, probably about 5-10 times in the last decade and I can say it is super crowded, especially after Covid.
I went with family a few years ago and I had a similar experience with long waits for underwhelming rides. I LOVED the Wizarding World aesthetic, but it was smaller than expected and didn’t have a lot of the *wow factor* aspects that the Florida Wizarding World appears to have…so I’m glad I went to this one first. 😅 For me once was enough and going back isn’t really on my priorities so I’m a one and done (for at least the Hollywood location)

I've never been to Universal studios, I've always wanted to go and also to Six Flags magic mountain!
I’ve been to Magic Mountain and it was pretty fun if you like extreme roller coasters. The lines can get pretty long so if you go, definitely find an off/dead time when it’s not crazy. I know they have their equivalence of a fast pass which is extra but might be worth it.
I went to Universal in Florida and that was 30 years ago. RIP Back to the Future Ride I wimped out and closed my eyes at one point. Rides I remember going on Jaws ride (very hot flames), Earthquake, King Kong, E.T. or was that Disney?! I caught a cold on the plane and skipped Jurassic Park as it involved getting wet.
I feel like most of the classic rides are gone. Jurassic park is still there but I think it’s been updated.

Love meeting Shrek he’s so funny. There’s a tiny bit of merch but they need WAY more. Like where is my Shrek hello kitty ? I have a jaws and chucky hello kitty from there lol
I agree heavily on having a pass but only gold pass and up b/c you get free special events, parking, and discounts at city walk and in the park. On everything but liquor of course. I hate when it’s oversold I agree it’s the worst. I get the disability pass but their 3rd party sucks tbh. The pass is amazing though we go right to the front most times. Mummy and Jurassic are amazing so I hope you go back. Nintendo world does not cost extra ! You might want a power band so you can do bowsers challenge. Other than that you might need to join a virtual line if the park is crowded. Sorry this is one of my special interests lol. Hope you get to go back sometime
i remember once waiting in line for krustyland with my mom and siblings when i was 17 in 2011, it was thanksgiving week and it was just raining nonstop and we were there for 2 1/2 hours with people just being SAVAGE everywhere. i'm not surprised by your review haha

I hope this video doesn't influence your visibility/ algorithm performance. Maybe you can combine it with the butterbeer recipe ( can you try to describe the flavour of the drink when you have it so prominent in the vlog) or a make your own Shrek ears ( what do they look like on a non-ogur-person)? Just to keep the subject closer to your usual content...
It is interesting to see this, I don't think I will visit any park like that when/if I visit the US.
If you ever visit the Netherlands be sure to skip Amsterdam ( go view canals in Den Bosch or Utrecht) and go to the Efteling. It is a fairytale themepark with lots of rides.

Yeah, I can barely stand Walt Disney World on busy days and it is huge compared to Disneyland. Way to go pushing thru those crowds but it does not sound like an experience that I want to do any time soon.

I didn’t try the regular so I can’t compare. I imagine it being blended helped it to not be so sweet maybe. Ours was only lightly sweet. Was the regular one really sugary?

Go during weekdays and never during school break! You also don’t need to pay extra for Super Nintendo world idk why she said that.. but there is a virtual line when the park is too crowded. It’s free but you need to scan a QR code or have the app.
Does Universal have after hours type events (with limited ticket sales) like Disney does? If so, that might be a good thing to try if you ever wanted to go again. I did after hours at WDW in March 2023 and it was honestly amazing! So few people and we really got time to just run around and explore (also no ride wait times longer than 20 minutes).
I think they might. During Halloween there is like a horror event that I’ve seen on tiktok but I’d have to look for into what kind of events they have. I’d honestly love to do an after hour limited ticket event!! Especially if it’s for adults only.
@@DressMeUpScotty gotcha, ya what I went to at Disney was not a holiday event so that was nice. It was not adults only, but there weren't very many kids especially the last couple hours of the event (ran until 1am).

Yeah I just can't with the crowds at theme parks anymore. I never liked crowds much anyway, but now I am mobility impaired & get sick of people kicking my cane or crutch out from under me & trying to navigate thru clueless people in a chair or walker. Outdoor events like County Fairs & music festivals where people are drinking is even worse. Nope.
I hate Universal Studios (at least the Florida one) because their rides are non-size-friendly. I've been to Disneyland and Disney World parks many times and never had a problem fitting on a ride but I couldn't go on the Harry Potter rides at U.S. and the staff there made me get out of lines in the most humiliating way. I cried. Never again!
