He loses his shield when he runs out of mana on his bottom bar. So if he's able to maintain his mana, he can keep his shield up. You can see him recharge his mana by losing health in the gameplay video at certain times.
We need to know how strong shield is. If you are out of mana, and take way more damage with the shield and you need to trade HP to get mana, make me feel like is not worth it
@Fernando Lugo its very worth it, it gives him 45 or 50% damage red. Which is important cuz he has less health than chipp, and recharging mana can also be done just by hitting normals, and by spending little health
@@andreadicastro8525 The Potemkin main in me is probably thinking "Fresh meat" but the Asuka fan and future Asuka main in me knows how to be cautious when dealing with fellow Potemkin mains. The Nine the Phantom main in me is probably going to make like Candyman and telling people to be his victim though (because Asuka plays like Nine)
How the health works its mostly that lore wise, he knows Fellion, a strong defense magic, he normally has lower health than chipp and no guts, but as long as he has mana (the blue meter at the bottom) he has constant guts, every hit he takes its gonna remove a bit of that mana, and he uses it for spells too, if you dont manage you can just kinda one tap him even easier than chipp
So my game theory is that his staff changes the projectiles based on the arrows on the card. For example you could get a card that speeds your blocks up, slow them down, make them arc, or make them go under. His staff could also do a bunch of other stuff too.
Ive found 4 staffs 1) speeds up cubes 2) slows down cubes 3)buffs cubes damage (arrow up) 4) visible only in the trainer its magnetic staff, attracts all cubes to the staffs location (like kokonoe)
Feels like he has some Platinum the Trinity mixed in with his Nine the Phantom spellcasting. He knows what spells he has on deck, the four displayed icons, but what he gets when those refill may be random like Platinum, which would keep him from just being able to spam one OP spell like Nine could before the rock was nerfed. I'm all here for that, personally. Platinum was my BB main from CS2 on, and Nine my favorite addition in CF and probably my second favorite character to play after Platinum, so this looks perfect to me.
One of the best explanations I've seen about his character specific resources is that he plays a TCG, like LoR/Hearthstone. • The number is how many spells he has on the deck; • The bar is his Mana; • The icons are the spells he has in his hand. He has ways of replenishing all of them, like the channeling move in which he spends his life bar to recover the mana bar. Other little things: • Being hit locks his cards and drains mana. Also, if he is completely drained of mana he loses his shield and gets locked out of using spells for a while. • Staves alter the trajectory/properties of his projectiles. The one with the gems seems to speed up or multiply the projectiles, the one with green flames appears to make the projectiles "heavier", with more blockstun/hitstun while curving the trajectory somewhat. • There is a green spell that gives him mana regen for about 20s. Seems super strong, considering he can sustain both his barrier for longer and be more trigger happy with his spells. • The fireball guard crushes consistently, while other spells may need one of the staves to gain this property. Also, the fireball is fast, hits hard and has a lot of range but costs a chunk of mana.
it seems that there's actually 3 type of staff 1 is a positive bonus for the spell meter for 20sec 1 lets you have faster casting speed (maybe better frame for normals too) 1 (the most important one imo) re-shuffle your deck
Nope, sorry but what you said werent the staffs, those are all effects of other spells, mainly "card" spells, what the staffs do is either one of 4 things 1)speeds up cubes 2)slows em down 3) improves their damage 4) attracts them to the staff location These are the 4 staffs and if you stand right next do them theyll give you slowly mana back, the mana positive bonus its given by the green card spell faster casting speed by another card spell and re shuffle its given by the spell that has the icon of a card with up and down arrows
The first thing that comes to my mind when I saw how he plays is that he seems to have some kind of "rotation" like Black Mages and Summoners do in FF14. You cast spells to build gauge, spend gauge to get a resource, use resource to unlock a buff mode, then you time your mode activation with a "big dps window", you spend the mode and restart the "rotation". If some where in this "rotation" you get interrupted, you need to rebuild stuff etc.
I’m replying to your comment to inform you what I know of the character, starting from the purple bar at the bottom cause yeah, it’s like his mana, when it’s empty he has no shield and can’t **afford** to cast any pages, I say afford because I noticed during the gio fight when he was low on mana and pages were being struck, one was available for a short period before more mana was drained. The number beside the bar is his “deck” of pages, the 4 slots beside the bar being your hand, so with an empty hand you can have a total of 30 pages in your “deck” Asuka’s spells range from projectiles to buffs to movement and much more, I’ll knock out the staff pages first since they’re the most interesting, so there are two staff pages that summon the staff with diamonds circling them, the one with fast diamonds increases projectile speed and the one with slow diamonds decreases projectile speed, there’s the magnetic staff from the reveal trailer which magnetizes projectiles to the staff, and lastly there’s a staff that glows similarly to how chaos’ curse glows and frankly I couldn’t pick up on its effect. For projectile spells I’m gonna categorize them as basic and advanced, basic spells involve asuka summoning simple cubes with unique properties, for example the blue/water cube being the most straightforward, a simple projectile that moves forward, there’s shock/yellow which is a multihitting cube that travels forward, a green cube that splits into 3 cubes, etc. For the advanced spells the noteworthy ones are the flame charge, a large, fast blast of fire in front of asuka, there’s also the black hole which is the tracking overhead, there is one where he summons six pages around you to attack, the portal that vomits cubes everywhere, and I noticed a page that would gain stacks seemingly according to how much mana you currently hold? I’m not entirely sure lastly I’m grouping the buff pages and the reroll page that I noticed as well as the teleport in here cause the teleport is simple enough, and for the buffs there’s one page that turns asuka’s bar green and causes it to automatically regenerate, and a page that causes the bar to turn orange, which I assume either increases the damage resist of the shield or decreases mana costs. There’s also a page which applies a buff to all pages asuka draws for a short period, as well as a page that I call the reroll page which rerolls asuka’s current hand for different pages in the deck that’s all I’ve got lol, I’m not the most credible source but I kept my eyes and ears peeled during the videos and around servers edit: while I’m dropping this fat dookie comment I should mention the spells I noticed with guard crush are the 6 page assault spell (I’m referring to the visual) and the flame explosion spell
I noticed one of the spells just makes his mana regen faster and holy shit that looks pretty good since it lasts forever and it doesn't go down that fast even when he's getting combo'd.
yaknow the nice thing about being in a character crisis is that when a new DLC comes out i get to pretend like they are gonna be the new main that solves all my problems with the game... before i inevitably swap back to testament
This character is WILD. I have been pouring over the footage we got, and there's a few things I've noticed but I can't confirm until we get more information. His blue bar does look like its representing a shield, but it looks like it breaks when he runs out of mana. He seems to lose mana when being hit while the shield is active. As for the spells and the slots etc- It does look like he needs to physically reload expended spells into his spell queue like... you can see him put pages into his tome or something and it generates new spells in his slots. The spells also seem kinda random, but I don't know if that's the case either. I'm also not 100% sure how he gets pages back like... The way I look at it is in terms of Happy Chaos- The spell slots (square icons) are like HC's currently loaded bullets in his gun. The number next to Asuka's bar is how many bullets he can reload- For HC, his number would just be "Infinite" HC has access to an infinite amount of bullets to reload, and he doesn't need to do anything to generate more bullets that he can then reload his gun with. It looks like Asuka has to actually physically GENERATE the bullets somehow, and he also has to reload his book with them. Kinda wild.
Basically if your playstyle is aggresive, you are more likely to die quickly due to always running out of purple meter using spells. if you play patient or lame, it rewards you with survivability.
