This also means having even a random source of Fire Damage proc-ing Ignite would give you an additional Unbound Fury with minimal investment
Yes.once the buff drops, you are allowed to start stacking again. Every different elemental ailment has its own 0.2s limiter. So if you deal Ignite, Chill, Freeze, Shock to generate stacks, you will get the buff again in 5s. For ignite, if it lasts more than 5 seconds, then you can have 80% more damage on the ignite for the entire "downtime" because the ignite has already snap-shotted the ignite with 80% damage on it. Stormfire melee ignite is probably the best use for this with Galesite's brittle mod and perfect agony.

To get 100% more damage from shock you need to hit 50 times first. These 50 hits obviously don't do 50% more damage, they do 50% more damage on average. The question is how many hits do you get off afterwards that until the boss either dies or changes phases? 10? 100? Maybe your shocks only get to like 80% more damage before they drop off, then it's just 40% more damage on average. It's still really good, it's just that there's gonna be hundreds of pobs floating around which have it set at 100% more damage. So don't get scammed by pob inflators. Unless y'know first hitting the boss 50 times with your basic attacks presumably then actually starting fighting it is the way you would normally play the game.
actually to add on specifically, I think skills that could fully work with it are some of the channeling stuff that require charging for full value like Blade Flurry or Charged Dash where you're building up to a big hit aft channeling small hits. Oath of Winter can proc the cold mastery for freeze very easily, which is 50% more damage. Lesson of the seasons is broken in Feared or Uber elder fights. It's basically overcapped suppress mastery on steroids, because you don't lose suppress chance per spell hit. However, the mastery is per spell recently, meaning 4 sec window where it resets. The raider node depends on how fast bark recovers. If it's like 2 seconds, I would say it's worse in terms of consistency and uptime, but way more powerful if you get bursted.
Bursty "cooldown" based damage is really good for crossing that threshold for killing dangerous ubers before they can phase or before you burn through your defensive flask durations. I really like this new ascendancy, even just for the flexibility of trying combinations of new tinctures + new enchants + new uniques without needing to reroll.
I think it means every shock at 2% maximum, but instead you can stack 50 times and that makes 50% (more if enabled by other source) effect way much easier on high hp enemies. The problem of normal shock is that you can easily get high effect on low hp mobs but always low effect on high hp ones like boss which makes it exponentially inefficient.

I look at the new Warden Tree and think... eh... feels a lot alike Inquisitor, looks like Inquistor - except benefits from ranged and Dexterity weapons instead of Strength (So Claws/Daggers). Which means it will come with the same pitfalls and issues as Inquisitor along with the same benefits based on how you do your build Except replace focus on lighting damage with frost damage instead and Consecrated Ground with Barkskin. I'd admit it has far more versatility than Inquisitor due to Tinctures, which seem to just add an extra layer of unnecessary business to any build which can easily be replaced with passive buffs if you picked a different build instead. Where this Ascendancy shines however is it's focus on Elemental Damage, Frost is particular and to a lesser extent Lighting, offering a stronger Frost stacking Freeze effect potential than Elementalist (Hoarfrost omg!), also a Fire Build that strips away completely Fire Resistance from enemies at the cost of the DoT but dose insane direct fire damage. A strong contender for Agility Weapon to Elemental Damage builds. Want to do a Frost Damage build, Warden is the new go to. It is Inquisitor - but better. So yeah, Rune Daggers and Claws are going to be useful again! in fact, Rune Daggers are perfect for Warden. With that said, I think it a good change as it is replacing a, well in my opinion frankly outdated and useless ascendancy which no one has seriously used in years as it utilizes onslaught mechanics with buffs you can get through the passive tree, gems and gear to attain the same effect which is more beneficial to other classes with other ascendancies such as Berserker and Frenzy mechanics which haven't been useful or held any use for years because it is to do with frenzy charges associated with attack speed, with the remaining tree to do with a slight bonus to elemental resistances. It has for years been considered the "tree to take" for doing a melee focused sort of like early attempt at a monk viable build for PoE where you'd either go ranged damage spam or melee attack spam, like spamming wave attacks using duel fist weapons with the leech being used as your sustain. But, the whole concept and meta viability disappeared after the melee nerf a few years back and hasn't really been viable since it was implemented 7 years ago. So, no one is really going to miss Raider. Actual sword and board retaliation/block/bash builds will be viable again come next league with changes to Gladiator, the new runes will also benefit Endurance Juggernaut and Minion Guardian builds too. Will they be top tier boss destroyers? No. Will they be useful for map rush day 1? Likely not. But, they won't suck anymore. They will likely fill the "heh that is interesting" like potion throwing builds. But who knows.
seems like the intention was to have warden use something like elemental hit, apply all statuses every single time and just profit from insane dmg multipliers.
I'm not so sure about respeccing being easier. Usually by the time I want to respec often I have a bunch of orbs of regret, so it always was kind of a non-issue. The gold cost in the video seemed pretty steep though...
Just a lil (completely) theory here, in the reveal video, the showcase gives us these numbers - respect one point 6.760 gold (this changes with the char lvl, but we can see at that moment we are at least lvl 50-60 according to the points spent), all gold at that moment is 61.952, a few secs later gambling random rare belt is 18.062 per belt, the char having around 4.7M gold, ransom for the boss is 50.000 gold, and when showcasing the automaps, the char owns 1.8M coins. Now, of course and for sure, these numbers are "cheated" by the devs, but there is already some pattern e.g. gambling one rare belt is 3 times more expensive than the respect point, ransom almost 10 times more and devs are cheating 5mil to use, not just a 100k that could be enough for the sake of the video. All of the numbers can be different in the game, but I believe they realize if respecing is not affordable for us (costs too many coins) it will not be used and it's a useless element of the new mechanic, therefore it's there to make it a little easier for casual poe community who often complains about regret orbs being impossible in the beggining of the game. We are not considering people having A10 in 2h. Let's hope GGG manage to find a good balance in the coin prices but imo respecing WILL BE easier with the new mechanic than we are used to until now.
I really fucking hate their tendency of just completely removing builds that aren't top tier under the rubric "well if 90% of the playerbase isn't using them, it's fine to just completely destroy them". Sure, raider wasn't meta, but for some people it was the only reason they played the game. I was one of those people. Now I just won't play. I guess that's what GGG wanted? I dunno. It's just a very strange decision to me; we already had elemental builds for Ranger, even in Raider. Lots of other elemental builds in other classes. They essentially removed the classical speedy melee rogue archetype from Ranger to doubledown on build archetypes that were already well supported. Not a fan--Warden itself is fine but removing Raider was not the way to do it imo, but then my opinion doesn't matter and that's that, time to move on.

there's no "all damage can poison" anymore and they made it so you have to go warden and spend a full ascendancy point to even use tinctures on ranged weapons lol
@@Palsteron There might be that affix available via runesmithing, but that's a big unknown of course
@@Palsteron I guess the only option is Inextricable Fate with the new prismatic annoint to apply grasping vines for 'all damage can poison'
@@Lorentz21 it's probably just better to get returning projectiles, or 100% inc. local elemental damage, both of which are straight up double damage mods.
if Pcoc can apply 7 poisons with 1 use .. explosive concotion should aplly 7 shocks no ?
Hell yeah man!
Please make an Oath of Winter Ice crash build
If the +2 proj tinctures are a thing, the Tincture apply to Ranged Weapons node makes sense.
Ignite won't add an unbound stack every attack will it? IIRC ignite doesn't apply if a stronger ignite is already active. Do you have 100% chance to ignite / shock / freeze? Everyone talking as if that is a given.
Keep in mind that the 100% chance to ignite shock and freeze while unbound does not help you regain unbound stacks as unbound prevents you from gaining stacks.
hey buddy, can you also comment on taming ring interaction with 50 shocks from warden ascendancy? it would be unreal if that ring is unchanged right?
taming nerf was confirmed by ggg mark
The DPS nodes are great, but I think Barkskin is a bit weak because you still have to reserve 25% for it. Even in Affliction league I stopped using Barkskin after a while, and that didn't cost me points from my main ascendancy in Affliction.
Shock base duration is 2 seconds though, even with increased duration, how do you hit 50 times before the first expires with anything other than like TS?
Just use/anoint Defiled Forces, problem solved.
Elemental hit goes with melee or ranged weapon? Thanks
both
@@Ilestun wich you recommend?
@@alexisvalentinkistner5436 Ranged, the mêlée ele hit has no clear.
@@Ilestun thank you 😃
Palsteron -Toxic Rain Ballista Pathfinder League Starter . Can you run 3.25 leagues?
When does this go live? Sorry at work trying to get all this in
Next Friday
Spellbark works best if you get hit by a lot of smaller spells and then by a big one. I think it's better for mapping than bossing, but we'll have to see l.
I think you underrate lessons of the seasons tbh. -150 flat damage is actually a pretty good amount. Sure it's not that much vs bosses but in maps you pretty much wont take elemental spell dmg.
What about ball lightning? Thoughts?
archmage BL, good starter
i've always been a totems heiro but now i kinda wannna expand to other builds. wanted to try this with frost blades but have no idea how this thing works
should ele hit with this not be really good?
I'm mulling over a ele cyclone build, maybe stack aura effect on blood and sand to buff up defences
i was going to run a frost blade raider this time, but might do that as a warden instead or try some galvanic arrow or similar
warden Tornado of Elemental Turbulence GIGACHAD
Elemental cyclone warden? No, I haven't figured out that would work, but it seems like a fun idea to be spinning around and freezing mobs.
Kinetic blast all the way. 🤪💪👍
Thx for the Update tip you the best🖤💚💛
I am excited to start with this!
I’m only like 3 leagues old and desperately try to make cyclone work for a noob every time. Hoping this will be able to do some kind of ele ailment cyclone of doom without being mega squish. If anyone has some pointers or ideas I should try feel free to let me know!
Look into Slayer and the Shockwave support gem.
How do I get this update do PoB?
in the pob settings opt into weekly beta test builds
@@prototoadsdoes this include new skill gems too?
2 Scorch = -60 ele res?
bro make that ballista build, I'm here for it!
This looks good to play around with once i get a voidforge in league.
Cold convert TS? Am I huffing too much copium?
Far too much. TS requires a ridiculous amount of investment, and how are you applying shocks and scorches? Just with % chance based effects?
How to get 3.25 updated PoB?
I wonder how this ascendancy will interact with Fury of Nature
seems like the intention was to have warden use something like elemental hit, apply all statuses every single time and just profit from insane dmg multipliers.
@@sy_2227 Well, according to the FAQ we can respec with both gold aswell as regret orbs, so it will indeed be strictly easier :D Glad to see that.
Taming will get reworked as GGG has stated - no info on how far changed, but it WILL be changed
how does he have the warden in pob?
Oath of Winter with Frost Blades maybe?
Rain of arrows Warden or RF Cheiftan, i cant decide, but its been a while since i played RF so maybe its time again
Wild strike trinity warden?
If Rising Tempest doesn't get drastically changed, I can see self-chill Warden becoming absurd
8 second cooldown Tincture with 25% CDR = 6 second CD for 100% uptime.
The only defense I need is cast on death portal. Let's fucking go
Ball lightning of orbiting miner Warden is my plan B
big thanks for showing how to update pob!
Could be interesting choice for CoC builds
