The one thing I haven't seen anyone do yet, is a real world chrono test for the kind of FPS numbers a TB barrel might give you over a stock setup. I have heard a few people state increases of 10-15, and others stating upto 100 FPS, but without a real chrono test to back those statements, they are all just guesses. I understand that it would depend on the gun used and the TB barrel you decide to swap in, but a simple test showing a few different guns with before and after barrel swaps (along with individual chronograph readings for each setup) would be great starting point for your viewers. It would help give us a general idea as to what we might expect if we switched to a TB barrel. Don't you agree?
Has anyone ever actually proved that the physics of widebore barrels work as they are assumed to? I'm just not sold on the "fact" that the BB rides in the exactly in the centre of the barrel without touching the top simply by making the inner diameter slightly wider. Some people say the performance of a widebore barrel is tremendously improved over a tightbore, but there I am yet to find a single video on RUclips proving this.
+Chris Kuehl Nope, that would defy physics. Wide bores just have lower pressure through the entire barrel than tight bores. Because of the hop up causing the magnus effect, which is lift generated when a cylinder or sphere spins extremely fast, the bb, no matter what diameter you have, will always ride on the top of the barrel. The only reason people see accuracy differences between tight and wide bores is because wide bores produce less friction as it is a circular against circular object and guide force. Now, this doesn't mean wide bores are better, because you can machine them more poorly and still have less friction on the bb than a tight bore
I think what makes it perform "better" is, theoretically, a tightbore would have a more constant place of contact in the barrel, making shots more consistent, and having more air pressure pushing it forward
The Miracle barrels performance are comparable to stock barrels. total waste of money. I bought one. ZCI steel barrels are better and only cost 20$. It should also be mentioned brass barrels wear out after time.
I have a Krytac trident mk2 crb and I'm wondering which is best for it. I play cqb and outdoor so which should I get? Currently using brass 6.02mm shooting 330-340. I want to increase accuracy.
Brass 6.02? Is that the stock inner barrel? I think the stock is 6.05mm. There is a specific barrel for the krytac crb that Prometheus/laylax carry. Its the 6.03mm 280mm specifically made for crb
Not quite, because GBB's work more like HPA systems than like aegs. With an aeg, if you go for a joule creep, you essentially won't be loosing fps in theory. it would also depend on the length of barrel. the shorter the barrel, the less difference in fps you will notice. And if you are actually loosing 100 fps, in any type of system, you are doing something wrong.
My next gun will be a nice little sniper rifle and I know I wanted an aftermarket wide bore exactly for the reasons they talked about. After watching I'll probably try that Orga because of the quality and not have to shave the bucking when flat hopping. Will also drop in a stronger spring
I dont really want to go over my build, but I do have a 407mm Miracle barrel and a Rhop, but there is a certain adjustment between the spring and the hop up unit. with steel gears a mosfet added, I am thinking Prommy 450.
So my idea for a 350 fps recce/dmr is increasingly possible with a wide bore barrel. I may be ordering a second hop, bucking, nub and new wide bore for some testing.
In your video you mentioned that WB barrels shoot slighter further that TB barrels 6:04 , and that they are more accurate at distance 6:56 , but I have yet to actual read or see a real world video test/review showing this as a fact. But I have seen some tests that show that the longer the barrel is the more accurate your shots are (the shorter, the less accurate). I have also seen and read a few reviews that do agree with you when you say that TB barrels increase your FPS, but it also increases your accuracy over regular stock/WB barrels at distant targets, which means you end up getting a more consistent grouping. The only advantage for a WB that I can see, is the ability to lower your FPS without changing stuff in your gun (like the spring in an AEG), or lowering the pressure in your gas setup. I know that if my AEG was shooting around 300-350 FPS and the fields around me allowed 400+ FPS , the first thing I would do is swap to a TB barrel. I'll get the FPS improvement, and I'll also get better accuracy at distant targets.
Slightly "Farther", not further. Farther is a measure of distance, further is metaphorical. Awesome video though. Thank you so much for making it as it answered my questions. Cheers!
Depending on your setup, if you are going for max FPS / air efficiency, then tight bore will be the way to go. Hope this helps! We have a good many tight bores available going down to 6.01mm.
Also if u r going to use wide bore in aeg, gearbox will be more likely to crack cuz of lower compression in barrel. (piston hits harder to the cylinder head)
This is a myth, the resistance from the BB in the barrel is microscopic compared to the forces at play inside the gearbox. If the gearbox breaks from dry firing, it would have broken anyway from normal firing. I have dry fired tens of thousands of shots with several different brands of regular V2 gearbox shells with M120 and M130 springs and none of them are showing any signs of cracking.
So what I’m picking up about the wide bore with an AEG is to have a good spring to maintain a decent FPS while also getting the distance and accuracy you need. Correct?
Just looked at the barrels you guys offer and noticed ORGA makes a 6.00 barrel. I'm looking to flat-hop and have only heard good things about ORGA barrels. I'm trying to build an ultra quiet and efficient P* build so I'm leaning toward a tightbore to run lower regulator pressure to keep things quiet and maintaining a decent FPS with the shortness of the barrel on my MP5. Being on such a short barrel, I'm aware my effective range will be likely limited with either setup. Would like some opinions on the ORGA 6.00 since it's a bit tighter than most tight bores but I really like the rave reviews everyone I talk to has about their barrels and the ease of installing a flat hop. Thanks!
Hey Anthony, thanks for the reply. Just as a follow up, I had called into the shop and talked with a tech for a bit about it and he suggested what you guys said on ask amped. Ended up going with a red poppet, prommy 6.03(229mm), and running a custom made red+ nozzle. When I spoke with your tech he had mentioned that some of the internals don't like to be run below 60psi due to small leaks which is why I decided to go 6.03. Right now I'm chronoing around 340fps(.20's) with my regulator set to ~50psi. With my banana, which is just about as long as the barrel...lol, its super quiet and I'm really pleased with the results so far. The one thing I have is bb's tend to get hopped and curve off to the right after ~100ft. I'm going to try and twist the barrel in the hopup and clean it out. If neither helps, what should I look at to get bb's flying straighter?
i have the P* FE with red poppet and red nozzle. I play indoors and outdoors, mainly outdoors. I care 60% fps and 40% air efficiency, which should I get? Also R-HOP, S-HOP, or Flat Hop. I know S-Hop and R-Hop are the same but is there a big difference and should I get the Umbrella Armory RHOP?
For example... I have sniper rifle TM vsr 10 with BOLT system from wolverine ( HPA) . All i want is accuracy ... sou you suggest me a widebore barrel ?
So what exactly is neccessary to upgrade on an AEG when going with a wide bore barrel? Are there any stock guns that you can upgrade to a wide bore barrel with no issue?
6.01 or 6.03 inner barrel? I looked around a good bit to see what would be better but im going to do an hpa set up on my DMR and wanted to do a whole lot of upgrades including the inner barrel. Thanks
We are talking upgraded cylinder (Larger Bore if possible), or running a heavier spring, which typically requires additional upgrades. It all depends what FPS you are looking to be at. You could take a stock VFC and install one, off the top you will loose about 40 FPS or so depending. To offset this if you wanted, you would be able to install a slightly heavier spring and go from there. For the most part, people don't use wide bores in AEGs due to this. Hope this helps! Thanks! -Kurtis
What would you recommend for an AEG? I want to build a really accurate, efficient and consistent primary. Tight bore or wide bore? what material? what brand? etc. Just give me the best option you can think of :)
With a 450 FPS Sniper (bolt action) wich 499-500MM barrel do you recommend? I am NOT planning to upgrade my cylinder and trigger. I will only upgrade my barrel and hopup system.
so if i got an orga 300mm wide bore with prowin hop with prommy purple with the firefly flat how and i want to get 350 fps on the dot what nozzle and poppet should i use when i want to put out low psi like at 80-90?
I am having problems finding the right size and good bore size for my ICS L85 Cabine (with wolverine inferno in it). the barrel is 420mm (according every retailer. did not measure myself yet) to and if you could recommend something around that range preferable not over 440mm for a good price and good bore size for my inferno id love you guys forever and buy it from your only shop if in stock. thank you
so with that wide bore idea in mind, someone should do an accuracy/range comparison test with a tight bore and a wide bore in a spring sniper rifle (jg bar 10) shooting at 500fps for both the wide bore and tight bore (im assuming the wide bore would need a m190 spring to get the same fps as the tight bore so that should be taken into consideration) this person should also use the same weight bb for both tests....
I am looking for a new barrel + hop setup for my g&g f2000, now im am wondering if a regular gearbox without bore up cylinder (although tuned heavily) can even deliver enough air volume for a 500mm 6.23 orga barrel?
How do you think an Orga would work in the Tippmann? Was considering getting one for mine, gun shoots 480 with a .25 so fps isn't an issue. I'm mainly worried about the recoil moving the barrel causing the bb to touch, thoughts?
hi guys im sorry for asking , but i want to buy the kjw kc-02 co2 powerd and the fps is between 400 and 500 with 0,20g bb's but I live in belgium and for that type of gun the fps top marge is 360 with 0,20g bb's would a wide bore lower my fps enough ? with the co2 ?
I must admit I pretty much disagree with everthing said about the two WBB you have there. I have had the Orga, it performed great, but the Delta Strike performes just as well at half the price. The only bad thing about the two piece system of the Delta Strike is that it can create some airleaks, and when taking apart the hop unit, the plastic part sticks inside the bucking and hop unit, and its sucks to get it out, but with a little dap of glue, that problem is solved. Overall I regret not getting the Delta Strike from the start instead of wating my time on the Orga.
Hey, Whats the chances of you guys doing a how vid on the VFC Ambi selector bar fitting. I am trying to fit mine to the PTS badass selectors but having issues. Any helpful video would be very much appreciated.
hi guys i have a G&G GR14 and my site limi is 500fps on semi which its stuck to as i want range which barrel is best to get then for my aeg king regards srf
i just got a p*and it has a prowin hopup a prome bucking and i have a madbull 6.01 254mm is that a good set up? I plan on getting a Prome 6.03 247mm will my accuracy get better cause its a prome or worse cause its a wider bore? please anyone help?
great video. Wanted to ask. I already have a prommy purple which I've trimmed down to flat hop in a TBB but could I use the same prommy again in an Orga although it's already been trimmed ? Thanks in advance
I have an AEG and I don't really know much about taking apart the gearbox. It's an A&k LR300 long barrel and I want to make this thing have have some great range and accuracy and I understand wide bore barrels can do that but takes a lot of gearbox modification to be able to run well and also must take lots of money. If I get a tight bore barrel, like a 6.03 promi or miracle barrel, would these also increase my range and accuracy a good amount from the stock barrel? I also have a G&G green bucking, is there any other modifications to my hop up that could be paired with a tightbore that would help my range in the field and prevent me from having to go into the gearbox?
I run the 6.23 orga (363) in my polar star with a flat hop prowin hop up promny bucking (purple) Red Nozzle And Red Low Flow Poppet with and SLP Rig how bad would my FPS drop and how would my air efficiency be I haven't tested it due to I have no air or chrono or having it put together. So if you could help me out that would be awesome
I bought a Custom Fox Tightbore barrel for my aeg. Is that a good inner barrel to have, or should I have gotten the Miracle Barrel like I planned to get? I want to make my feild rifle as accurate and efficient as possible.
We've seen some good results from the Fox barrels, so if I were you, I'd run that for a while and see how you like it. If you get a Miracle Barrel in the same size, your differences would be minuscule depending on how your gun is tuned. -Matt
Hello. Great video! I wanted tot run the Orga 6.23 barrel in my aeg. But after your story I am not sure. What do you think of the Orga Magnus 6.10 barrel?
Sooo SO if you swap A tight bore barrel shooting 400fps with a Wide bore Or stock barrel using Similar bucking Hopup unit Would that be an Good way to get a 20 FPS Or so drop for Indoor gaming?
Hi there! Congrats on your Tippmann M4 Purchase! With Tippmanns we have customers that use both, but many customers typically lean towards the tightbore on the Tippmanns due to the increased efficiency of them. Hope this helps! Thanks, Kurtis
Alex Moore you will get a few more number of shots but your FPS will drop with the WBB because more air flows through the barrel but using the red nozzle should keep your FPS up on max PSI rating. Quoted from amped airsoft.
i have the P* FE with red poppet and red nozzle.
My CYMA 005 fires at 340 and my field limit is 345 but I want a barrel for accuracy. My inner barrel is 6.8 so if I get a 6.3 inner barrel will my FPS go up or down? or stay the same?
I have a AEG going 400 fps with .25 bb and a 6.01 inner barrel but I wanted to get a longer inner barrel mine right now is only 363mm and my gun can get fit a 509mm. should I look into a 6.20 prommy? I rarely go full auto and usually play more of a sniper role.
Maybe a bit late to answer, but I have a wide bore in my Thompson AEG (kings arms). I made this choice because the Thompson FPS was to high out of the box. I only changed the barrel and i must say I'm pleased with it when I'm spraying. The consistent airflow pushes the bb's further and makes them more accurate. But single shots are very disappointing. The range and accurateness drops insanely. So I wouldn't recommend them for sniper use. Note that I didn't change anything else. Maybe with all the internals upgraded, this problem will be solved with it.
Hey guys, was wondering if you guys could do a vid talking about range vs accuracy? atm, i have a flathopped Orga barrel which is reaching fucking FAR but in terms of groupings i'd say its pretty shite at that range. I currently run my Flat hopped orga in an upgraded AEG Gearbox. I've seen my friend running his Polarstar with a flathopped prommy barrel which is getting really accurate shots at range too although im not sure how he's achieving it whether its because hes running HPA or his barrel set up is just that good.
hey guys great video. Quick question. with a HPA build and with the orga barrel. Is there a big difference in the length of the barrel ie 363 or 450mm to the distance in feet you can reach? so does a 363 reach the same distance as a 450 in the orga barrel with HPA set up? Thanks
somewhat yes and no at the same time the 363mm is going to maybe get to where you are shooting at but the groupings will be worst than the 450mm the 450mm barrel is going to have better groupings and be more accurate
hello, iam planning to upgreade from a stock brass innerbarrel 250mm to a Prometheus 407mm innerbarrel 6.03 whit some external barrel extensions and i was wondering, if my fps will increase or decrease whit a longer innerbarrel. Thanks
+jules berghs Your FPS should increase the longer the barrel is, because the air from the cylinder is pushing the BB for a longer period of time. So yes, the fps will rise.
i have a polarstar jack, orga magnus 6.23 wide bore (260mm), purple prome bucking with a modify flat hop nub and a pro win m4 hop up. every time i take shot the bbs curves to the right. can you please tell how to make it shoot straight, ive done everything by changing buckings, and adjusting the hop up as well.
Take the inner barrel out with hop up unit fully assembled and apply full hop. Look through the barrel and check what shape you get for the hop up bucking. It should be equally horizontal. If not, then you should be able to slightly rotate the barrel against the hop up unit to make it centered perfectly. It probably leans more to the right in your case so it applies more hop to the right side of the BBs. When it is perfectly centered you need to somehow fix the barrel to the hop up unit so it does not rotate anymore. I use aluminium sticky tape for that purpose as it does not stretch.
With the notable exception of paintball vs bb, Airsoft is following the exact same trends in discussion and theory behind accuracy as paintball. perhaps take a look a well documented paintball science and experimentation and compare them to our airsoft results. assuming the results are similar perhaps we could learn from the past.
Just a quick question. What do you guys think of angel custom inner barrels. I recently ordered one and I found just mixed reviews, what is your opinion on Angel custom inner barrels P.s. ( I got a 6.01 300mm inner barrel) P.P.s ( I'll probably switch to a Prometheus sooner or later)
So in the long run for an AEG DMR build to use a tuned tight bore system i can get comparable results to a wide bore setup for half the cost? Because at the end of the day the marksman behind the rifle can make that 50ft difference not even exist?
for any aeg, you should get much better results with a wide bore. At about 400fps, if you R-hop, use an M-nub, with a decent wide bore, (the best being pdi) you should be able to hit close to 100yrds with heavy BBs if you know what you are doing with a gearbox
Mate, I don't know where you are getting your information but you shouldn't lose more than 50 fps when going from a tightbore to widebore unless you are using an incredibly short barrel. A widebore is so much better than a tightbore, and it really isn't close.
+TheGamingFox You want range? Well GBBR's are not the best option logically. You need strong gas for it and not every GBB is up to this task. As these guys said, you need more pressure for widebores as your fps will drop significantly. So you need more pressure and as a sniper you want highest allowed fps to get maximum flight stability of the bb's. As long as you can increase the gas output far enough you will be fine with widebores. Strong gas or NPAS will help you, but as I said you should check it out first if it is recommended to do that before you try. If your fps is already low and you cannot increase it, take a tightbore. Fps is really important. You definitely want more precision and projectile stability over sheer range. I have a Tokyo Marui VSR and I can tell you, low fps will kill your range capability. The bb is flying very unstable because of low speed and power... the slightest wind will ruin your shot. Your first priority should always be getting your gun to your field's fps limit. Find out what your gun is capable of and then pick the right barrel. Would be nice if your gun can exceed your field fps limits so you can drop it down to the limit again by using widebore and fine adjusting your gun.
hi Amped i live in Ireland power limit is 1J (328fps) could i have a gun with a higher power but stick in a widebore to bring it down to the 1J (328fps) would it give me more range? and if so what spring should i add to it
+daniel Garcia Sure will. The GG TR16 takes any standard AEG barrel. 6.01s typically work very well in AEGs and will give you a performance boost when coupled with a good bucking and hop unit. -Kurtis
im saving up to build a polarstar dmr with a aps asr 110 body. should i run a tightbore or a widebore for those long range shots. i have a scuba tank with me at all games to refill so efficiency isnt an issue. can anyone help?
So for my hpa dmr set up if I want range but lose in air efficiency go with wide bore or if it want more efficiency and more fps and not as far tight bore or I could just use tight bore and aim up alittle😁 but in all seriousness tho if I want range but still be able to lay down full auto with out the bbs flyin everywhere if I need to would the wide bore still be a good choice?
If you are looking to do a lot of shooting, I would say to go with a tight bore so that you can save on air efficiency. Both a tight bore and a wide bore shoot very well, each have their ups and downs. It's all about personal preference. Hope this helps!
What would be the best tightbore barrel for the kwa km4a1? I was looking at the angel custom 6.01 in 395mm long, is that a good barrel? I want a increase in range and accuracy but im not too worried on fps increase due to my field limit of 450, any help is greatly appreciated
+Matthew Moran Your KWA barrel is fine, I would say that the angel would be a downgrade. Learn how to R-hop, its the best and cheapest thing for any gun. It may take some trial and error (and research) but its invaluable to know. If you know where to buy the tubing (do research) you can do this upgrade for under 5$. I R-hopped 2 KWA m4s and a KWA BR16 and they are unbelievably accurate and shoot very, very far. I have also R-hopped over 20 other guns.
So if I'm going for a dmr setup. I want the best range and accuracy possible for 450fps or under. What kind of parts would I need? Also I'm using an aeg
We would recommend a higher end tight bore barrel such as a Prometheus 6.03 or PDI 6.01. A good hopup bucking such as a Modify or Prometheus Purple, Fire Fly Flat Nub, and a good hop unit. If going with an M4 Platform, the MAXX, Prowin, or Lonex unit will do very well depending on your setup. If you would like us to help you put together a cart with the items you need, hit us up at sales@ampedairsoft.com and we can help you out. Thanks!
@@AmpedAirsoft would you recommend a tight or wide bore for my m14ebr aeg? Also do you know of any after market hop up units for an m14ebr from cyma or .6mm pro shop? I cannot for the life of me find any parts for this thing
All depends on the build, but anywhere from 15 fps to upwards of 50. All depends on barrel brand, bore, and what all else you have done to your rifle. The only real way to know is to try it.
hey for a spring sniper would it be better to use tightbore or wide inner barrel ? since you want more range and precision i guess the wide would be the best choice. Am i wrong ?
Not really, A widebore might reach out a couple of metres extra 1 - 3 usually, depending on how you install it, but the shots are so inconsistant that it does not really matter.. Also, both barrels perform differently in different guns and even in same kind of guns, ive used 2 tightbore barrels in my Extremly upgraded Well mb 4411d and theyve performed differently, it depends on how you install them., Conclusion, If you're looking to hit your shots really consistantly but about a couple of meters of drop in range compared to a widebore, i would go for the tight bore (this drop does not matter since a tightbore gives you quite the more fps / ms giving you longer range) ((this also depends on the lenght of the barrels a 595mm Widebore will outperform a 395mm Tightbore any day, but if youre planning on hitting consistant shots as a sniper, I would go for the tightbore. Srry for the essay :3
Goddammit. I didint really answer the question XD no. not a big setback, its usually a couple of meters, but you gain some fps / ms when you install a tightbore.
ok thanks man, planing to sell my well mb08 and go for a TM vsrpro, and im trying to plan the list of the best possible upgrades for my budget and im buffled between tightbores/widebores , longer/shorter innerbarrel etc.
That intro is killing me. So good

That was the most useful info I've gotten about inner barrels and it didn't come off like a commercial.
I really love my tight bore Prometheus and flat hop I just did in my ARP 556. Noticeable difference the first shot out of the barrel
Glad you like it!
Would a Prometheus suit a cyma m14 socom ?
What length did you put in your 556?
how much did the fps rise?
Has anyone ever actually proved that the physics of widebore barrels work as they are assumed to? Totally agree, and the best barrel is pdi wide bore.

try pdi raven 603s
Thanks. Really good video that just got straight to the point of the title, unlike many airsoft channels!
Thank you! Glad we could help!
You didn't touch on the subject of GBB's. Is the FPS drop for GBB's gonna be as high as with an AEG when swapping for a WBB?
Not quite, because GBB's work more like HPA systems than like aegs. With an aeg, if you go for a joule creep, you essentially won't be loosing fps in theory. it would also depend on the length of barrel. the shorter the barrel, the less difference in fps you will notice. And if you are actually loosing 100 fps, in any type of system, you are doing something wrong.
I'm getting a orga. I already run 45ish psi with my p* (red nozzle and low flow poppet) and get about 300 fps so I think I'll be good lol
What was your fps after you installed the orga ?
It annoys the fuck out of me that Anthony NEVER lets people finish talking. like . . . in any freaking videos.
Honestly i think wider bore is better for light machine uns for a bigger spread and more suppresive affect if you using it to supress
Cheers!
I put a vsr 10 tight bore in my g&g predator end result I was shooting 300fps with a .30 on 35 psi gun was crazy accurate
sam thielen ....that’s not possible....vsr barrels are totally cut differently compared to aeg cuts....
I would love to see how you managed to do that
please do more pleb to pro love these videos and they help me a tone
I'm thinking about setting up a DMR build would a tight bore be better
Depending on your setup, if you are going for max FPS / air efficiency, then tight bore will be the way to go. Hope this helps! We have a good many tight bores available going down to 6.01mm.
So basically , if I’m hearing right , for a hpa gun wide more is more accurate and would be the best for a dmr
Where are the promi barrels on your guy's website? Am I spelling it wrong? love your content and your business thank you for your help
Thanks
How upgraded are we talking for wide bore barrels in AEG’s? We talking like Systema PTW or Umbrella armory upgraded or something like say a stock VFC?
We are talking upgraded cylinder (Larger Bore if possible), or running a heavier spring, which typically requires additional upgrades. It all depends what FPS you are looking to be at. You could take a stock VFC and install one, off the top you will loose about 40 FPS or so depending. To offset this if you wanted, you would be able to install a slightly heavier spring and go from there. For the most part, people don't use wide bores in AEGs due to this. Hope this helps! Thanks! -Kurtis
Is there an install video?
What would you recommend for an AEG? I want to build a really accurate, efficient and consistent primary. Tight bore or wide bore? what material? what brand? etc. Just give me the best option you can think of :)
With a 450 FPS Sniper (bolt action) wich 499-500MM barrel do you recommend? I am NOT planning to upgrade my cylinder and trigger. I will only upgrade my barrel and hopup system.
so if i got an orga 300mm wide bore with prowin hop with prommy purple with the firefly flat how and i want to get 350 fps on the dot what nozzle and poppet should i use when i want to put out low psi like at 80-90?
is there any kind of "lube" or spray that you could coat the inside of the barrel for a smoother ride out?
What should I get for my P* V2 Gen 3 I have a G&P Widow maker metal body if that makes a difference.
What would be the best upgrade for a wellfire vsr 10 sniper rifle? Is this a good rifle to have?
Thanks for the reply. Well, I will keep it waiting hoping. WB all the way too.
I have a Emg sharp bros overthrow what kind of upgraded hop up can I buy?
hi guys i have a G&G GR14 and my site limi is 500fps on semi which its stuck to as i want range which barrel is best to get then for my aeg
king regards srf
I have a question. What about a widebore for spring sniper rifles because they are packing a lot of air so would a widebore work for a sniper or no?
+ReconeX Your sniper rifle should easily have enough cylinder volume to power a widebore barrel.
i just got a p*and it has a prowin hopup a prome bucking and i have a madbull 6.01 254mm is that a good set up? I plan on getting a Prome 6.03 247mm will my accuracy get better cause its a prome or worse cause its a wider bore? please anyone help?
How well would a well-polished stock 6.08 barrel perform in a hpa gas sniper?
great video. Wanted to ask. I already have a prommy purple which I've trimmed down to flat hop in a TBB but could I use the same prommy again in an Orga although it's already been trimmed ? Thanks in advance
I run a DMR and I'm looking at upgrading the barrel. So I need to get a wide bore and upgrade the gearbox?
What's amped's preferred method of barrel cleaning?
I run the 6.23 orga (363) in my polar star with a flat hop prowin hop up promny bucking (purple) Red Nozzle And Red Low Flow Poppet with and SLP Rig how bad would my FPS drop and how would my air efficiency be I haven't tested it due to I have no air or chrono or having it put together. So if you could help me out that would be awesome
awesome thanks a lot for getting to my question much appreciated
Do u need a poppet if u have a polarstar lmg and what nozzle should I be running
Great video guys keep them coming....
Also should I go tight bore barrel or wide bore barrel
what about using a 6.23 in a vsr set up? Specifically a jg bar 10?
Whats best for an AEG and what is the best for range?
I bought a Custom Fox Tightbore barrel for my aeg. Is that a good inner barrel to have, or should I have gotten the Miracle Barrel like I planned to get? I want to make my feild rifle as accurate and efficient as possible.
We've seen some good results from the Fox barrels, so if I were you, I'd run that for a while and see how you like it. If you get a Miracle Barrel in the same size, your differences would be minuscule depending on how your gun is tuned.
-Matt
Have you guys tried the PDI 6.05 series?
can you list all the products in this video used to do the flat hop thanks!
I'm looking for a tight bore barrel fore the ares amoeba am-013, any suggestions? thanks
What do you guys think about a PDI 6.05 mm inner barrel for a SMP/Hydra? I'm looking for the best inner barrel for range for the Hydra
Hello. Great video!
I wanted tot run the Orga 6.23 barrel in my aeg. But after your story I am not sure.
What do you think of the Orga Magnus 6.10 barrel?
Great video. Can't wait for the hopup video
That video is chambered for the next episode!
-Matt
Sooo
SO if you swap A tight bore barrel shooting 400fps with a Wide bore Or stock barrel using Similar bucking Hopup unit Would that be an Good way to get a 20 FPS Or so drop for Indoor gaming?
+DruidicRifleman You are looking at more of a 100 fps drop
What barrel should I put in my KWA KM4 Commando
what is a good tight bore inner barrel
i just bought a Tippmann M4 ((yay)...whats better...tight bore or wide bore for the Tippmann M4 thank you.
Hi there! Congrats on your Tippmann M4 Purchase! With Tippmanns we have customers that use both, but many customers typically lean towards the tightbore on the Tippmanns due to the increased efficiency of them. Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Kurtis
quick question. If i have a low flow (red) poppet and I use a red nozzle, could I still get the same shots out of my tank even with a orga wbb?
Alex Moore you will get a few more number of shots but your FPS will drop with the WBB because more air flows through the barrel but using the red nozzle should keep your FPS up on max PSI rating. Quoted from amped airsoft.
i have the P* FE with red poppet and red nozzle.
My CYMA 005 fires at 340 and my field limit is 345 but I want a barrel for accuracy. My inner barrel is 6.8 so if I get a 6.3 inner barrel will my FPS go up or down? or stay the same?
+Carl Andrews it will go up, the tighter the inner barrel is the more FPS your rifle will shoot
Thanks guys! Very helpful video.
Would U recomend a 407mm miracle barrel or a prommy 6.02 407mm. (With a P* and flat hop) im just going for range
Or a widebore?
hello, iam planning to upgreade from a stock brass innerbarrel 250mm to a Prometheus 407mm innerbarrel 6.03 whit some external barrel extensions and i was wondering, if my fps will increase or decrease whit a longer innerbarrel.
I use aluminium sticky tape for that purpose as it does not stretch.
thank you so much ill try that out.
awesome so i can throw a large spring in a l96 or vsr10 and a wide bore and increase my range and accuracy
i hope to get an answer! i run a full upgrate krytac spr on 410 fps with a mirracle barrel! is it better to change to the orga widebore barrel?
+GeorCoast no, even if it would actually help, the difference would appear on paper and not in actual gameplay :)
+Airsoft 360 thanks for the answer!!
With the notable exception of paintball vs bb, Airsoft is following the exact same trends in discussion and theory behind accuracy as paintball. perhaps take a look a well documented paintball science and experimentation and compare them to our airsoft results. assuming the results are similar perhaps we could learn from the past.
paintballs are powered by compressed air, many airsofts are powered by spring
aierce
a spring which pushes a piston which compresses air...
If my AEG shoots 450 fps right now, if i just dropped the Orga Magnus in without ANY other modification, how much of a drop in fps would I experience?
Mike Walworth probably 20-30
Just a quick question. What do you guys think of angel custom inner barrels. I recently ordered one and I found just mixed reviews, what is your opinion on Angel custom inner barrels
P.s. ( I got a 6.01 300mm inner barrel)
P.P.s ( I'll probably switch to a Prometheus sooner or later)
Also I am running a p*
So in the long run for an AEG DMR build to use a tuned tight bore system i can get comparable results to a wide bore setup for half the cost? Because at the end of the day the marksman behind the rifle can make that 50ft difference not even exist?
for any aeg, you should get much better results with a wide bore. At about 400fps, if you R-hop, use an M-nub, with a decent wide bore, (the best being pdi) you should be able to hit close to 100yrds with heavy BBs if you know what you are doing with a gearbox
Mewdekamp1gaming what? No. Wide bore for a aeg is not even worth it unless you are going for 500 or more fps with a stock barrel.
Mate, I don't know where you are getting your information but you shouldn't lose more than 50 fps when going from a tightbore to widebore unless you are using an incredibly short barrel. A widebore is so much better than a tightbore, and it really isn't close.
If I'm building a DMR GBBR, I want Range and accuracy, so would the Wide Bore be a better one than the Tight Bore? Please someone help.
Would be nice if your gun can exceed your field fps limits so you can drop it down to the limit again by using widebore and fine adjusting your gun.
hi Amped i live in Ireland power limit is 1J (328fps) could i have a gun with a higher power but stick in a widebore to bring it down to the 1J (328fps) would it give me more range? and if so what spring should i add to it
husky12347 I would just use higher weight bbs
hey I was wondering if a Madbull Airsoft AEG 6.01mm Ultimate Tightbore Barrel would work on a g&g tr16
+daniel Garcia Sure will. The GG TR16 takes any standard AEG barrel. 6.01s typically work very well in AEGs and will give you a performance boost when coupled with a good bucking and hop unit. -Kurtis
+Amped Airsoft thanks for the help
and of course high quality BBs, 6.01 is really tight and low quality bbs can get jammed pretty easily
im saving up to build a polarstar dmr with a aps asr 110 body. should i run a tightbore or a widebore for those long range shots. i have a scuba tank with me at all games to refill so efficiency isnt an issue. can anyone help?
wide. orga 6.23 , helps cushion and "Float" the bb outthe barrel
Ur opinion on the ar4 rocket and am i alowed to use it at steel city
what about for GBBRs what is recommended say for a we svd
+Matthew Moran
Your KWA barrel is fine, I would say that the angel would be a downgrade.
I have also R-hopped over 20 other guns.
im having trouble finding a tight bore barrel thats 140mm long
so do you need a upgraded gearbox to use a wide bore barrel
Hollowbasher 360 it needs to have a higher volume of air to achieve the same fps
@@bt_the_yank6234 As mentioned above, please read previous comment on Tight or Wide. ;)
Only one would be the Tokyo Marui Hop Unit.
How much do tight bore barrels increase your FPS by with an AEG?
All depends on the build, but anywhere from 15 fps to upwards of 50. All depends on barrel brand, bore, and what all else you have done to your rifle. The only real way to know is to try it.
hey for a spring sniper would it be better to use tightbore or wide inner barrel ? since you want more range and precision i guess the wide would be the best choice. Am i wrong ?
You kinda are, the tightbore barrel is way more consistant than the widebore.. Making the shoots way more accurate
So we sacrifice range in terms of accuracy. Will it have a big set back in the range of the weapon if you go for the tightbore?
My aeg shoots now at 350ish, if i install a tightbore where will i be at?
Probably 360ish
You should'nt have to google for "prommy". Say prometheus if you are talking about prometheus ffs.
PunaJussi most people know bud
