That was a typical tarpon, get em right up next to the boat and then they say that's close enough and just break you off😎 These guys are big and smart and wily. More times than not THEY decide when it's time to say" See Ya Dude"!!!👍👍
Damn Brent I just realized what's going on now. I thought I recognized that voice. Well it all makes sense now. Don't know why u changed the name of the channel but as long as people know then it's all good. Glad I put it all together and good luck bro😎
Great tarpon video! One of the best I've seen. Really captures the essence of this awesome creature and this sport. From hookup to the first time the fish sees the boat and takes off again, and then again just when you think it's over and you find out it's not really over just yet... :)
I fished Islamorada many times in the early eighties with one particular Guide out of Bud n Mary's Marina. I couldn't Fly Cast so we used Live Mullet. WOW... do Tarpon love Mullet..! I fell in love with all things Saltwater on my first full day with my wife and the Guides constant instructions. I caught my first Bonefish off of Shell Key in the morning and then hooked up on three Tarpon in Channel 5 during the remainder of the day. I miss those days.... I'll never forget sitting at dinner at Marker 88 Restaurant one night when three VERY Sunburned guys sat at the table next to us. They were Billy Pate, A Guide from Bud n Mary's and Stu Apte. After ten minutes of listening to them instead of my Wife, she said "Do you want to sit at their table instead of with me..? 🤔
Caught my first Tarpon today just north of cockroach bay channel on the flat, just before high tide in about 3 feet of water. He was only about 30 inches long but was pretty healthy. Redbone medium heavy rod ,20# power pro 30# leader and only a #3 circle hook with medium size pin fish. So much fun, love my new Hewes Redfisher.
wow 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻I was waiting all day. amazing video everything about it narration, music, edit and of course silver beauty 🐟🎣🎣🎣☺️we are glad you are back!!!! Can’t wait to see your next and learn !!!!! 🎣🎣🎣
Little and adorable.... grab him green , and say that statement again.. lol Tore a tendon that way.....but that was years ago. Much older and wiser now. Great video !!!!
its the worlds largest greenback! dang dude, sort of figured you were upping your video and edit game, but i didnt think youd be doing more fishing! no complaints brother glad to see it. looks like youre still in st joseph sound. see ya dude is so appropriate and hilarious for your channel name. 2nd tarpon was acrobatic for sure. welcome back!
Going on a trip monday in Clearwater if i only catch 1 tarpon i will be happy its a dream of mine i fish the great lakes it reminds me of a 100 pound steelhead crossing my fingers that i hook one
Any tips for this years tarpon rush? Just bought a 10k saragosa with 300 yd 50# braid and coupled it with a bullbay 7,11” brute force heavy, heavy action. Never really fished for tarpon kinda hyped to get into it this year.
That setup will definitely work. I had my best luck fishing with live pinfish under a bobber off the beach right at sunrise. Set up where you see some fish rolling
They are typically migrating through starting in late April/ early May and stay around until August. They hang out around passes on moving tides and can be found moving up and down the beaches. I've had the most success fishing early mornings, getting out there at sunrise. You'll see fish rolling on the surface if they're there
Hey there! I live in the Tarpon Springs area and was wondering if you have any tips for how to fish the fall down here? I just had an awesome summer fishing catching shark, permit, redfish, etc. I wanna keep it up!
Redfish really fire up during the fall. They'll be cruising the grass flats and oyster bars around schools of mullet. Early morning and late evening are always the best
Tarpon are great fighters! The smaller ones will jump a lot and then tire pretty quickly, but the bigger ones will fight you for a long time. I fought the first one in this video for over 20 minutes
See Ya Dude - really like the lay out of your boat. I went w Pathfinder based on trusted recommendations. I fish Port Charlotte area, Pine Island, the passes. Need a shallow running boat. They claim 11 inches on the 2400 TRS. I guess it’s all a trade off. Best of luck!!
Welcome back brother! Great narration.
Thonny love your channel man.
Love your videos brotha

Yes finally
Do you have a couple of tricks for knowing when the fish will be at the spots?
They are typically migrating through starting in late April/ early May and stay around until August. They hang out around passes on moving tides and can be found moving up and down the beaches. I've had the most success fishing early mornings, getting out there at sunrise. You'll see fish rolling on the surface if they're there

See ya dude
Great!!!
Finally!
where you been bro
Was this off Caladesi?
Do a red fishing next
Are tarpon good fighters in your opinion? Please answer.
Tarpon are great fighters! The smaller ones will jump a lot and then tire pretty quickly, but the bigger ones will fight you for a long time. I fought the first one in this video for over 20 minutes
The big ones seem to make fast runs too, the run at 2:49 in the video is alot faster than any fish I've ever hooked into.
You should do a sunglasses video
Now I know why its been so long
It would be an honor if I could get a like from the creator himself!
You got it sir
What maker of boat is that?
It's a Sea Hunt BX 22 BR
See Ya Dude - really like the lay out of your boat.
