its not the same engine as the hybrid versiom, this one is L15a with 117hp and hybrid uses L15b with 110hp.
L15a is SOHC whereas L15b DOHC

Not all vtec comes with direct injection bro

for example, Grace hybrid has indirect injection whereas vezel hybrid (which shares the same engine) has direct injection
