- Recorded live at the Suncoast Hotel, Las Vegas. The Four Freshmen are Brian Eichenberger, Curtis Calderon, Vince Johnson and Bob Ferreira.
This is a Brian Eichenberger's terrific arrangement of the Yip Harberg/Harold Arlen tune from the Wizard of Oz, track 7 from the DVD.

This is the best vocal/not-vocal jazz group I've ever seen! Holy crap! The lead here has a simply AMAZING voice.
Masterful whistling
Yip Harburg excelled himself with 'individle' and 'worthy urv you'. And Brian's arrangement from 1.37-1.01 (esp. 1.51-2.01) is exceptional. Amazing how these so-called simple Disney-type tunes often lend themselves to a jazz style. "Alice in Wonderland" also makes a good swing waltz.
Few musical groups have had the staying power of the Four Freshmen -- able to continue to attract audiences and new fans, add new songs and arrangements to their "book" year in and year out, and always provide a quality product. With the four who you see in this video, they've got at least another 50 years.
absolutely wonderful! it is great to see young musicians playing real music with real musical instruments! love it!
if I only had a BRAIN...... nice tune, reminds me of happy times somewhere along the road
You guys are so entertaining. Thank you!!!
Now I'll have this song in my head all day !
2024 and I still come back to this
Accidentally found this gem. Terrific job and that Brian can sing-wow!
what an incredible rendition of this song!~
Beautiful!
Great musicality and perfect time!
Oh! This is soooooo good...makes me wants to get up and dance.
Wow. After all these years they still sound great and look so young. They've gotta be pushin' 90.
I think you're thinking of the Four Freshmen from the 1950s ... i'm pretty sure they've passed now ... these are the lineup from the 1990s, and I think this lineup no longer exists today in the 2020s [another generation has taken their place, yes] ...
@@reyzrvideo7979 I was just kidding. I know they’re the new guys (or the old new guys).
this is some good work! i love the way they share the stage.
Really nice. Great Harold Arlen song done well. A little gem of a video.
I've been listening to this over and over!
So beautiful
So cool!!!
It IS new; it's Brian's arrangement. Many of the tunes the Four Freshmen perform are unique to this configuration (Group 22). These songs, in the Four Freshmen style, were never performed before these guys came along.

Wildmanmoon im curious as to whether or not you actually think these are the original guys...well any way they aren't lol, just 4 new guys as a continuation of a great quartet.
I think it was a flute or something like a flute.
