the difference between scaramouche and arlecchino is that - scaramouche is not truly a psychotic or crazy person. he knows his morals and understands full well that the actions he takes should be considered as consequential or dominance depending on what he’s done. there’s always an in between, but common sense doesn’t fly off the handle. that’s why his soundtrack is still directed to one thing the entire time: the same lyrics, the same instruments, the same originates from his past, etc. we know who he is. - arlecchino, this entire time, has been hiding behind her facade, controlling the one thread of her true self for whenever it was necessary. she manipulates, always finds a way to create delusions for others, and never expresses her identity the way it really is. that’s why the soundtrack doesn’t focus of just one thing. at some very obvious points we can see who she really is under her mask, and besides that, she is very difficult to understand. she does this willingly. she’s reckless, dangerous, toxic, and hazardous. it almost seems like she literally doesn’t belong in teyvat. this entire soundtrack is meant to tie your stomach into one knot and consider her power and existence as terrifying and cruel. scaramouche may be scary, but he’s never going to be as scary as she is. that’s why there’s a big difference between both soundtracks. although they somewhat come from the same genre, their morals come and go differently. anyways i love their soundtracks. they’re amazing antagonists that’s for sure
This is the most accurate theme about a certain someone's personality and actions. It's perfect, in my own opinion, it's has both sides which are very important aspects, the House of the Hearth singing in the background is obviously giving the cordial front and is the most organized theme of announcing their "Father". Its the Facade that we all know, but then The transition begins to give the switch between the themes, and now it's become more diverse in music it's no longer organized and it announces the final act and Father's arrival(Phase II) After the transition it announces Arlecchino's arrival, and as the voice of her begins to unite with the House, it starts the final act but as it's developing and as its lead by The House of the Hearth, it gets completely casted out by Arlecchino, then she takes charge announcing her own act, she then snaps her fingers to quiet everything, thus showing her in control of the music itself, she then take matters in her own hands and does the final act, in her true unknown self, now its no longer an act nor a facade. This is my own interpretation.

Yeah, I'd say that 3:28 to 4:04 is the most interesting part of the piece because there's a sense of tragic heroism in that part that really leaves you guessing what it all really means and who she is. The progression of the whole section is really interesting because it includes very stark contrasts between musical styles. At 3:28, there's this super threatening set of staccato notes that seamlessly transition into 3:38, which is just tragic. Then, the music swells almost heroically to a trumpet fanfare at 3:50. I can't make heads or tails of it because I don't know Arlecchino's story yet, but it sounds like she's a heroic figure that's been twisted into something threatening, but she retained her good nature.

The more I listen to this ost, the more I think that this is the best boss theme in Genshin. There's something about it. The way it feels creepy, powerful, intimidating, sad and monstrous at the same time is kinda crazy. And if Arlecchino is originally not from Teyvat (also, the EDM part is pointing towards this theory) and maybe she's some kind of descended monster that took on a human form (maybe?) then this theme makes a lot of sense in terms of the pressure and horror it brings.

It's pretty close though. They probably only have a few minor kinks to work out now and then they're done, so I don't think there'll be any real differences between now and the official release.
This goes CRAZY! I was a little hesitant about the dubstep but I actually think it perfectly encapsulates her "true" crazy self leaking out. I can't wait for the final version!
Keep in mind that everytime we hear dubstep in a theme, the character has something to do with khaenri'ah or thing that doesn't belong in teyvat, i can't wait for her story >

4:33 this part scares me because... It suddenly reminds me of C2's theme song in Code Geass, at the same time it also sounds like the Children of the House of the Hearth are praising the Knave in some Religious way since the title Father can also mean Priest... I could imagine them wearing Black Gloves while holding candles in their hands to signify they're Father
Even if Scara's theme will be better still, I think they did a great job with this one. The children singing, the scary and cool part with deep woman's voice, then the 'snap' and it's dubstep (and probably the best one, it's even better than Narwhal's in my opinion). Arlecchino's ost perfectly portraits her story and her. Children singing because she's "Father" in the orphanage, dominating and scary tone of that woman's voice suits Arlecchino's attitude, then the iconic 'snap' and we hear something out of this world... I think it represents that we will see her "true crazy self" that Scara mentioned in his voice lines. And almost the absence of Fatui leitmotif (but you still can hear it in the earlier part of the ost) is probably accurate since Childe said that she can and probably will betray Tsaritsa and Fatui if she'll want to. But the ost is not finished yet, we need to remember that. Who knows what the future changes will be?

Even though Harbingers 1-3 are said to have power that is on the level or beyond that of the gods, I am still frightened at the potential amount of power the number 4 spot has.

The three harbingers higher than arlecchino are likely some of the most powerful beings in teyvat which is why arlecchino is only fourth despite seemingly also being very powerful. Also arlecchino fearlessly attacking furina impromptly in the open is pretty telling of her confidence in strength being higher than that of an archon.

However, it is hard to know who is stronger, since we never saw their full potential. We can only theorize. But since Xiao is over 2000 yo, and he fought during the archon war, i assume that he is at least (or over) on Arlecchino level

As for his age, I don't think that matters much when comparing him to the fatui harbingers. Take pierro and dottore for example, who as far as we know are only around 500-1000 years old and pierro is the leader and dottore ranked second. Childe too being only 11 is stronger than xiao. Reason being, he was able to hold up against the narwhal fairly long. Although we don't know much about how long they were fighting, we know the narwhal is an extremely powerful being due to neuvillette needing to get his sovereignty back in order to stand a chance against it. And again, arlecchino attacking furina without prior planning wide in the open tells me that she knows she could take an archon in a fight and win. Xiao has some fairly impressive feats and has done much in 2000 years yes, but he is not really impressive when being compared to the fatui. The people trying to literally physically change and go against the world.

This is the most accurate theme about a certain someone's personality and actions. It's perfect, in my own opinion, it's has both sides which are very important aspects, the House of the Hearth singing in the background is obviously giving the cordial front and is the most organized theme of announcing their "Father". Its the Facade that we all know, but then The transition begins to give the switch between the themes, and now it's become more diverse in music it's no longer organized and it announces the final act and Father's arrival(Phase II) After the transition it announces Arlecchino's arrival, and as the voice of her begins to unite with the House, it starts the final act but as it's developing and as its lead by The House of the Hearth, it gets completely casted out by Arlecchino, then she takes charge announcing her own act, she then snaps her fingers to quiet everything, thus showing her in control of the music itself, she then take matters in her own hands and does the final act, in her true unknown self, now its no longer an act nor a facade.

Yeah, I'd say that 3:28 to 4:04 is the most interesting part of the piece because there's a sense of tragic heroism in that part that really leaves you guessing what it all really means and who she is. The progression of the whole section is really interesting because it includes very stark contrasts between musical styles. At 3:28, there's this super threatening set of staccato notes that seamlessly transition into 3:38, which is just tragic. Then, the music swells almost heroically to a trumpet fanfare at 3:50. I can't make heads or tails of it because I don't know Arlecchino's story yet, but it sounds like she's a heroic figure that's been twisted into something threatening, but she retained her good nature.

obviously this is just a theory but the sense of music and imagery carry a certain emotion i wanna understand. maybe she was supposed to be a good person, but her fate was chosen differently anyway.

the intro to the stark notes introduces The Knave: Arlecchino. the transition to the heroic flow is the moment to which arlecchino is seemed to be heroic, committing an act so powerful that it affects her reputation. she is considered a warrior of good now.
the transition to the “disappointing” flow is the part where arlecchino is about to face an undesired consequence or fate.
the transition to the climax of the music is her result of becoming The Knave.
The more I listen to this ost, the more I think that this is the best boss theme in Genshin. There's something about it. The way it feels creepy, powerful, intimidating, sad and monstrous at the same time is kinda crazy. And if Arlecchino is originally not from Teyvat (also, the EDM part is pointing towards this theory) and maybe she's some kind of descended monster that took on a human form (maybe?) then this theme makes a lot of sense in terms of the pressure and horror it brings.
EDM themes are also used to represent the abyss in Genshin's music, so it could have something to do with her becoming tainted by the abyss.

Arlecchino has this huge overarching angel motif (Iinking back to Seraphim in the same way Columbiana does). Its entirely possible she's related to *Celestia*, the island that came from beyond the sky.

I truly love the second phase, it has some little details in the music that are incredible tbh, and the way it's built, i love it SO MUCH
Even if Scara's theme will be better still, I think they did a great job with this one. The children singing, the scary and cool part with deep woman's voice, then the 'snap' and it's dubstep (and probably the best one, it's even better than Narwhal's in my opinion). Arlecchino's ost perfectly portraits her story and her. Children singing because she's "Father" in the orphanage, dominating and scary tone of that woman's voice suits Arlecchino's attitude, then the iconic 'snap' and we hear something out of this world... I think it represents that we will see her "true crazy self" that Scara mentioned in his voice lines. And almost the absence of Fatui leitmotif (but you still can hear it in the earlier part of the ost) is probably accurate since Childe said that she can and probably will betray Tsaritsa and Fatui if she'll want to. But the ost is not finished yet, we need to remember that. Who knows what the future changes will be?

The three harbingers higher than arlecchino are likely some of the most powerful beings in teyvat which is why arlecchino is only fourth despite seemingly also being very powerful. Also arlecchino fearlessly attacking furina impromptly in the open is pretty telling of her confidence in strength being higher than that of an archon.

Yes, she is extraordinary powerfull, we dont even know how much. But she (apparently) a mortal. Xiao could be condidered as a semi-god, like Wanderer. However, it is hard to know who is stronger, since we never saw their full potential. We can only theorize. But since Xiao is over 2000 yo, and he fought during the archon war, i assume that he is at least (or over) on Arlecchino level

As for his age, I don't think that matters much when comparing him to the fatui harbingers. Take pierro and dottore for example, who as far as we know are only around 500-1000 years old and pierro is the leader and dottore ranked second. Childe too being only 11 is stronger than xiao. Reason being, he was able to hold up against the narwhal fairly long. Although we don't know much about how long they were fighting, we know the narwhal is an extremely powerful being due to neuvillette needing to get his sovereignty back in order to stand a chance against it. And again, arlecchino attacking furina without prior planning wide in the open tells me that she knows she could take an archon in a fight and win.
Xiao has some fairly impressive feats and has done much in 2000 years yes, but he is not really impressive when being compared to the fatui. The people trying to literally physically change and go against the world.

edit: now that I think about it, this is still in beta version, but I do hear that two weird motifs despite her being the harbinger in phase 2, at the 3:40 we do hear similar themes as one that in Neuvillette's ost, it has lamented on something, and seeking in justice,, I do think that Arle has her own judgement she think is right, she's not even remorsed for what she did to her "archon" back then since her has her own "rightenous level", this might be her thinking that this time it's for her to give her judgement to something, thus she released the"mask" I've said earlier, then somehow from 4:18 and on, the theme is similar to narwhal, did that meant that she's also not originally from teyvat? one for sure is her hand and eyes is not what normal human in teyvat have tho :(
