What is highly reassuring for me as an Apple shareholder is that consumers are still purchasing products like these, whilst simultaneously complaining about Apple's upgrade strategies.
Good review - thanks for pointing that about the lack of wired connection - none from the "big" reviewers cared enough to check this. I bought them for that wired connection to my digital piano and simultaneously a perfect connectivity with all the Apple devices. Now, I guess returning them, as waiting for that cable might be in vain or at least long. Such a shame.
I think the reason they haven't been unchanged is the AVP. The new iteration will have to fit the AVP, so the ear cups will have to be smaller. It may also be that the AVP2 will have a different strap and only then will the new version fit.
I get the impression that Apple have lost interest in both audio and the AirPods Max. I feel that they are going to leave audio headphones to the real audio players and there's some amazing ones out there and simply concentrate on other marketing features such as Health as in the AirPods Pro 2. I have these and I'm incredibly disappointed with their dull, flat, rather non-engaging sound. Again, Apple COULD have been the first in implementing Dolby True HD to ATV+ and iTunes film but instead opted for the really poor sounding 30 year old Dolby Digital. Heck, they don't even offer a graphic equaliser in their music app on iPhone - it's arrogant to believe that every listen is OK with a flat setting. IMO we won't see a further AirPod Max and we'll simply see AirPod Pro's and ones below that incorporate more health features whilst Apple forgets sound quality as that doesn't sell to the masses - again, look at HomePods, not exactly thrilling audio systems are they? I feel that the days of the Max are limited!
Apple will make audio products that cater to the masses, Airpods Pro 2 sound design cost them millions of $ to make, they also sell really well. APM don't sell well, so they won't invest in the RnD

Dang I’ve been holding out for these for awhile now space gray and orange isn’t Tennessee orange
I think we’re looking at Apple instead of CEO, because with Steve Jobs it was exciting with Tim Cook it AI.
Not sure I agree, Tim Cook has been CEO for 13 years, theres been alot of innovations in that time

Thats a great take, I haven't tried AVP with my APM yet to see how they all fit my head
@@lewislovelock I read somewhere a user's opinion that unfortunately they don't fit. I would like to know what your experience is.
