I know I've made tons of mistakes through the years which effected the long term of retirement. If only I had had previous advice on such matters. Such were the days before computers. Thanks for sharing and I'm sure those watching your channel can absorb knowledge for their future. 👍
Enjoyed the video. Not much of a Morgan Dollar fan but I do own a couple. While I understand they are one of the most collectable coins out there, I lean more towards the seated Liberty series. From a selling standpoint. Only to invest in another asset.
Hi Scott Hill, I started out a stacker, and I mistakenly bought some Morgan Silver Dollars at the FUN show (I mistook them for American Silver Eagles, when I was just starting out). After that purchase of 5 Morgan Silver Dollars, I asked my local coin shop if he had any. He did, they were graded Morgan Silver Dollars, and that's how my collection got started, with about 10 Morgan Silver Dollars, the rest is history. BTW... I love the Seated Liberty Series, but don't feel I can stretch my budget for them, in the future, maybe.
@@LegacyStacker yes I agree. There the most important part of my collection and will be getting more soon every time it get it out I think of the Wild West and bank robbers and cattle barons and what not 😂. Thanks for subscribing! You can get Morgan Silver Dollar values on the PCGS website. They have price guides for all types of coins, including Morgan Silver Dollars of every date and mint mark value.
Yes, graded Morgan Silver Dollars in mint state will go up in value as determined by their rarity. If they're graded by PCGS or NGC you can go on their website to see what they are worth. The grading companies usually re-evaluate the values on a yearly basis, but at different times of the year, for different types of coins.
Hi Lut Ming Tsoi, your best bet would be to check the prices on the PCGS website. It will list the price of each Morgan Silver Dollar, by year, mint mark, and grade.
Hi Slayer Stacker, yes, as the value of these Morgan Silver Dollar coins goes up over time. I know APMEX pricing can be higher than other online sites, but they are also one of the few that has a selection of Morgan Silver Dollars by year and mint mark. 😎
Hi Richard, yes, the Morgan Silver Dollar was first minted in 1878. If you check out my Morgan Silver Dollar Playlist, you can view Morgan's from 1878 to 1886 (so far).
Thank you for the response, I am a amateur coin collector for about 3 years and have a pretty good Morgan Silver Dollar collections, I have 9 of the CC Morgan MS 63 for most with a total of 13. I guess I don't understand how there can be a 1886 Morgan.
@@LegacyStacker Thank-you for the response. I am a amateur silver dollars collector and have been collecting about 3 year. I have over 100 Morgan dollars at least MS 60 and 13 CC Morgan 9 different years MS 63. I enjoy collecting and trying to build some assets for my family.
Hi Bryan Sullivan, I don't know how I missed this comment, but an 1886 O Morgan Silver Dollar could be worth some serious money! It will all depend on the condition, my Mint State 60 (MS60) is worth $1400 today. You can check your coin condition against the Sheldon scale online, either way it's probably worth grading! 😎I would suggest NGC or PCCS for grading your coin!
@@bryansullivan9588 That's not too far off. I would check the PCGS website for the 1886 O Morgan Silver Dollar pictures. You should be able to check your silver dollar against the pictures. The lettering is usually the best place to look (carefully). You could also check with your local coin shop. Best of luck! 😎
@@LegacyStacker I took it to the only coin shop in my town the owner wasn't there some young kid he said the only thing that concerned him was the weight it was 10%copper 90% silver like it was suppose to be told me I might wanna bring it back in when the owner is back from a coin show
Hi Toni Segura! I know a lot of people are forced to sell these days, since their budgets are too tight, given the high prices. I hope the economy will turn around next year! 😎🏆
