A 4 wheel drive Toyota Matrix that runs strong, shifts smooth, and you’ll never believe the price we got it for! Come with me as we review my brother-in-law’s somewhat new to him car! 💯😊
Best built cars period. I just bought a cream puff 06 corolla sedan 195,000 kms. Drives like brand new. Literally like a mini Lexus. You’d have to pry it out of my cold deceased hands ❤
Wow! That’s awesome! I wouldn’t care about dents as long as unibody is straight who cares?!? That should have so soooo much life ahead of it! And to think you could have spent $26,500 on a newer car… hard pass for me lol but I would have picked that up too if it was near me so great find! 💯😂😊
Yeah you can buy lots of gas and maintenance and repairs(IF needed) for that difference and quite honestly even Toyota isn’t making things like they did with the newest stuff IMO… My brother still has his matrix almost 300k miles on it, runs perfect and surprisingly doesn’t leak a drop of anything… great little cars!!! 😊
Thank you for the comment! 😊 It’s been driven daily for the last few months and has been solid! I’m sure it has a lot left in it! 💯 Definitely a cool car to drive!
@@FishingAndCarsIm in canada and winters here now with all the snow and water on the road would you say its a good winter car for ploughing through? IK the BHP is about 130. Thx
@@marksuche7135 We are from Eastern Washington and we absolutely have some snowy times! We just experienced 4-6 inches of slush and with those studded winter aggressive tires it went everywhere pretty easily! You do float a tiny because your light but it bogged through it! That was last week! 😊 if there’s upwards of a foot of snow I’d imagine it could get high centered in extreme cases. Haven’t had that experience with it yet though!
I bought a 2005 Toyota matrix XR from Kirby ll Hemet California...and got ripped off! 3,250.00 having problems getting it smogged he sold it to me like I got it from the title owner he bought it from. I can't prove that he sold it to me! I still will get it going. But don't know what else will pop up that needs to be fixed? So far the OG sensor I have replaced... going to the shop for the edle control valve replacement. Has burnt out engine light... And vacuum leak, don't know what that is going to cost? Don't buy from this guy at Kirby ll !!!
@@jstephensoneyeOpen I’m sorry about your experience! Where I’m located we no longer are required to do anything emissions related. From my experience of owning over 100 vehicles the check engine light has never been burnt out, unless deliberately tampered with… it’s not impossible just more possible someone had knowledge of that! Even the best rigs ever made can be not good ones to buy… I do think these are solid older vehicles overall but definitely something for me and others to keep in mind if we buy one!!! I hope things turn out for the better for you in the future! 🍀
Typically the first go to for problems is a new o2 sensor, I’ve even replaced cats before only to still have code after… if it doesn’t effect running condition, and you don’t have to worry about emissions… me personally, I would live with it! 😊 Thank you for your comment!
In my opinion, yes! The 4WD/AWD option and the rear hatch makes this Matrix a really unique car! In terms of reliability though they both are phenomenal lol 😊
@@jstephensoneyeOpen I’m not aware of how that’s been done or how to do that… perhaps dash cluster swap although these may be new enough vehicles for a higher end scan tool to see actual mileage from the engine computer… hopefully it’s the actual mileage!
Doesn't get good gas mileage :/ OMG it's filthy and had so much wrong with it. Have a Ford much older than that so you know it is going to start. Not sure what's so great about it.
Hey thanks for the comment! You got to have one to appreciate! We love AWD at 28 miles per gallon, we love 300,000 miles and climbing on the original motor and transmission, original gear boxes, even bearings on this gem… and we love that we could floor this(wide open throttle) 100+ straight times from a dead stop up to freeway speeds with zero issues, as if it’s driven off the lot for the first time! Those are just a handful of things, and out of all my fords, and other makes honestly, I have never had that confidence! And my brother and myself love that we paid $2000 for it! Lol 😂
@@FishingAndCars Well when you've always had cars that got over 30mpg except for one an SUV built on a truck chassis that could do truck things and could plow through 3 feet of snow, it really spoils you.
Oh man yeah that’s pretty spoiling! 😊 I love these matrix’s but anything over a foot of snow is sketchy a bit as it just doesn’t have the clearance, for what it is as a whole it’s great! Part of me having over 100 different cars in my lifetime is appreciating almost all of them for the things they bring to the table! I’m a bigger guy, an s10 for example is a really small truck to sit in, a ford ranger is also a small truck but I had all the room in the world it felt like sitting in it! And it had cruise! I loved that little ranger lol… there’s lots of pros to most vehicles! I’m having a hard time really getting into the brand new ones, I just don’t think they are worth the money and will hold up as the older ones have…
To this very moment, thousands more miles, runs, shifts great… my brother-in-law certainly cares lol… I appreciate the comment always 💯 from anyone and everyone! 😊
The car literally has the badge 4WD but I do understand it’s not a truck with a 4x4 transfer case with 4hi and 4lo, ect… That said, all 4 wheels spin and in 2005 there was way less electronics slowing them down from turning in slippery conditions… appreciate the comment though! You’re technically right! Lol 😊
Just bought a 2006 matrix XRS 6 speed . 122k miles on it. 1 owner, 0 accidents, no rust, all maintenance records, $3,750. Lovin it.
Oh man awesome! I love the manual option! That’s a lot of car for that price lol! 💯😊 Thank you for the comment!
Gets great mileage too.
What engine you got in there?
I got the same exact year make and model That 2ZZGE engine is a work of art.
Picked up a Vibe base model 5 speed in January. 350K miles and counting. Drives like new. What a car!
@@milan1969 yes, these are just unreal! That’s awesome! 😎
I just bought a 08 Matrix 5-speed manual transmission in 2250 with 163xxx miles. The interior and pain are good. So happy
These really are sweet cars! 💯I’d love to have a manual one! Lol… Thank you for the comment! 😊

Man i got jealous when he said $2k for the 4wd Xr then said almost 300k. Phewww bought my Xr frwd at 70k for 6,500 during the stupidemic
Man, only 70k on yours! Wow… $6,500 will be nothing if it goes 200k plus more like this one! I love these cars! lol
Thank you for the comment! 😊
Agreed. I have a vibe 2004 and it's the best car I have ever owned. 150 k and running like a charm! Citi and hwy 460-480 km! With basic maintenance. 👍
Yes! It’s just so nice being in something affordable that just goes and goes and goes and goes lol 😊

It’s essentially a more functional Corolla, I just purchased one, and the flat folding seats are nice.
It has under 190,000 miles... unless he turned back the mileage meter???
