I just added an amp to my si and discovered something. If you're only adding an amp and subwoofer, don't tie into the sub but rather tie into one of the rear speakers right next to it. The factory system has a low pass filter with a sharp cutoff to the factory subwoofer. If you use one of the rear speakers, you'll get more low-mid tones and if not, the sub will only hit on the lowest of the low notes.
thank you for this 🙏 i was just about to start on my install and i'm glad i ran into your comment
Unless you add an epicenter maybe
I tied into the stock subwoofer and now my after market sub keeps cutting out neeeeeed help and yes I added in a converter
@@stezzysteve8903 like the man stated above get an epic center and tap into the left rear speaker
Congratulations you've now shown how not to hook up a stereo in a modern car. I'm not trying to knock you dude but there are plugs and processors and things to do this right and if you're going to do something you might as well do it right and this is not right and running the power wire the way you did is downright dangerous please fix that and make sure you fuse that amplifier no more than a foot from the battery!
You should go through the same grommet that the hood latch cable goes through, alot safer
There's a few videos and plenty of forum posts that show the firewall access behind the battery. You can also run through the hood release latch grommet in the fender, but 4ga probably won't fit through that one.
4 awg will fit. I did it in my sons car.
Ran 4ga through it yesterday. No problems. I just chose to use an lc2i loc. So much more control and a lot easier
There's a big rubber grommet right behind the battery. Take your battery out its really easy. Running power the way you did is dangerous harder and takes more cable.
Nice job, by the way which ones are for line out converter?
Nice, this is a great video. I'm about to put a sub and amp in my 2018. Should I just leave the stock one in there and everything?
I left mine in but I unplugged it
Nice bro!I just want to ask when i done the wiring and connection same like you but uses the active line output converter for sub but all high and mid bass is missing in sub only low bass sub is playing .did u face this in your car?i have honda civic 2016 touring
There is a rubber garment behind the battery on the fire wall. You just have to pull the battery out
Where did u wire remote wire too !
So why is there so much stuff for the sub? I'm just trying to install an amp for my sub I don't need all the extra stuff right
Yeah you don't need all that stuff
Most of this video is good, but it's not safe to run wire through the door hinge.🤔. You could just as easily pull the rubber boot loose on the fire wall above break pedal and run the power wire through, then over to your door area
Which cables from the 20pin amplifier connector are for the subwoofer?
Does the car require a relearn once you disconnected the battery?
No, I don't think so
How did you run your remote wire?
Hey sir, how would I tap into the rear speakers for a powered subwoofer?
you would find the rear left and right speaker cables and splice or positap the speaker cables from the sub, I ran the cables behind the stereo head unit.
Have any vibration videos for the sub?
I have not
@@classickydo6339 have any issues with vibration? Mine vibrates like crazy even after dynomat
I don't have any vibration issues. The car shakes but that's only because the sub bangs
Does all 10 generation subwoffer fit in the back dash or has to be cut out
Thanks
I have a 17 ext and plan on getting a audiocontrol lci2 and was wondering if you or anyone that may see this know about the bass rolloff when the volume increases. Idk weather to tap into front speakers or if it will be sufficent tapping into the rear speakers.
I would try tapping into the front speakers if I were you. But also there might be a sub wire like mine had.
Did yours already have a sub? Mine has 2 tweeters and the normal 4 speakers. Im not even sure if mine has a factory amp. I hope it does because it looks like it will be alot easier to tap into the wires opposed to getting in the dash behind the head unit.
I would just tap into the front speakers
That is the junkiest install I've ever seen
I got 2 12 Rockville subs 1200 watts you think that’s enough
Absolutely lol
What kind of subwoofer is stock. I have an Si Coupe and wanna change my speaker system
every connection but the one to the battery, the only one i need to see
There is another video on my channel that shows the battery wire.
Is that 0 Gauge power wire?
I believe it was 4 gauge
Hello Brother! a question where to connect the remote of the amplifier so that it turns on with the stereo
They make fuse holders that you can run a remote that will plug in your fuse box.
Get an LC2i. It uses the voltage from your rear speakers to turn itself on and in turn will turn your amplifier on no need For a separate remote turn on!!! I wish more people knew about this LOC! So simple!
It isnt easier with line kut converter?
Wow. Major hack job.
Horrible way to run the power wire.
You did this this hard way... go find a better video this guy isn’t helping anybody
This is why I'll never buy used cars. Cutting factory harnesses is such a rookie move
