It should only charge an ongoing fee if there is an ongoing cost on it. On device ai should be free. Private cloud computing and ChatGPT integration? They could charge those, though I believe they should be included as iCloud+ and/or Apple one.

@@codyhayes3920 the servers are for some parts of it, but most of it is going to be handled on device. It’s why only M series chips as well as the new iPhone chips are going to be able to use it. If it was all on the servers then any device with iOS 18 would have the ability to use AI features.
They’re aware that the “products” aspect of their business might decline in the future due to increased competition and longer product lifespans. So, they’re exploring alternative revenue streams to compensate for this shift. 😠

AI is probably the only worthy feature coming to the new iPhone if they charge for it then there’s no reason to upgrade, I think that’s how most people will see it.
I am not paying for Apple Intelligence. However, I hope that Apple really refreshes the iPhone. We need a new iPhone design, maybe go back to the 5C days or something.
Charging for anything AI would be a fail for Apple just like when Apple made a bad choice when allowing apps to have subscription models. Apple doesn’t need my money to survive I pass on any app that has a subscription model no matter how good the app is as I don’t like being nickeled and dimed.
The reason the M4 pro is not selling is because it’s not pro, the file management is still unacceptable and hampers so many apps like da Vinci resolve that could be amazing. It’s a very cynical ploy by Apple and whilst I’m a fan in lots of other areas, this particular area, is where they are letting themselves down.
Right now, a lot of users will have to upgrade their phone to just be able to use Apple AI, myself included. Many users won’t upgrade to have access to Apple AI if they know some of the best features are subscription based.

I use an m2 mac mini, and getting it work with the superdrive is literally impossible. Not sure if it's something that effects all silicon machines, but it's about time it got de-listed!
Great job Aaron, I think I would probably wait for iPhone 17 since it is coming huge hardware upgrade with redesign camera layout. Right now using 15 Pro Max and since it going get Apple Intelligence I would rather hold off and wait for iPhone 17 Pro.

You’ll get the basic free stuff with the phone and those that want extra can pay for extra. They all will do this, you just choose whether you think it’s worth buying or not.

The SD card slot has no click in and click out function. The Mac Studio SD card slot just feels cheap without this feature. You can never be sure the card is inserted properly.
I had planned on upgrading to the 16 Pro from my current 13 Pro but with the 16 series getting wider I’m gonna look elsewhere. I got rid of my iPhone 11 partly because it was just too wide for one handed use. My 13 Pro is borderline too wide for me as it is. I haven’t had an android device in several years but I may be forced to jump ship to get a more comfortable device.

The whole permission thing on MacOS beta was actually bugged as well. I tried screen recording on Discord and got so many permission pop ups that just kept coming. Had to force quit Discord to it to stop and then had to restart or manually close them myself. They fixed this issue in the recent public beta update.

I was planning on getting the m4 pro Mac mini, as a first Mac, but if they take away any of the ports, especially the USB-A ports, it won’t be worth it. Other reports are saying they may get rid of the fan and even replace the power cord with a cheap charging cable. I hope none of this is true and it still has everything the previous one has. I would like it move on from windows.

If it is, then all the ports are there, including the 2 USB-As, plus a third USB-C. The holes for the fan are on the top in the back. But they said the m4 pro is losing a port. Probably a USB-C. Hopefully this is real, but with a fourth USB-C port in the front. If not, and they ruin it, then I’m either staying with windows, or just forgetting about computers altogether.

If Apple announce AI will be subscription based in future I’ll be moving to the OnePlus Open before the 16’s even go on sale, free AI is more than enough for the average consumer. Apple had better give this some serious thought as it could cost them dearly.

No. Most people dont know how to change the default or even know other search engines exist. Also, the US is more on about how google PAYS apple to have them as the default. The EU went a step further to have people choose an engine, completely eliminating a default altogether

AI is still not at the level of mandatory daily usage tool for Apple to ask its users for a subscription pay. I think they just should offer it for free fire as long as possible to get most of its users on board with a generative AI system wide. I feel Apple is smart enough to know this and will do the same probably..
I don't think Apple would charge for AI features if other phone brands don't charge for there features. Plus Apple already makes a massive amount of revenue from there products alone.

Bro, hear me out. There's no benefit to having a Mac mini compared to macbook pro except price (of course I paid heavily on my monitor, mouse and keyboard). I have a Mac mini that I use daily for work and education.. But I wish I had bought a macbook because I get the same specs arguable and a screen and track pad and keyboard... I wish I had a macbook so I could travel with it and use it when I'm in bed. If you have a PC setup ready for Mac mini. Just connect monitor and everything else to you macbook and you'll be set. That's my suggestion.

My opinion is if you cant figure out what you need in modern day computing - then you do not NEED it. Either should be able to help you accomplish most tasks. Basically the difference is....one is portable the other is not.

The Mac Mini and iMac should have Touch ID functionality built in to the devices. Many users prefer 3rd party keyboards.

Also, the US is more on about how google PAYS apple to have them as the default. The EU went a step further to have people choose an engine, completely eliminating a default altogether
@@CrisCheese_ yea it wouldn’t hurt if during setup of your phone you get to choose which search engine you prefer. But imo it’s unnecessary and there are much bigger things to worry about. I don’t think this is a very consumer unfriendly thing. It is literally so easy if you want to change it. And otherwise you can easily GOOGLE it 😝

AI is still not at the level of mandatory daily usage tool for Apple to ask its users for a subscription pay. I think they just should offer it for free fire as long as possible to get most of its users on board with a generative AI system wide. I feel Apple is smart enough to know this and will do the same probably..

I don't think Apple would charge for AI features if other phone brands don't charge for there features. Plus Apple already makes a massive amount of revenue from there products alone.

Bro, hear me out. There's no benefit to having a Mac mini compared to macbook pro except price (of course I paid heavily on my monitor, mouse and keyboard). I have a Mac mini that I use daily for work and education.. But I wish I had bought a macbook because I get the same specs arguable and a screen and track pad and keyboard... I wish I had a macbook so I could travel with it and use it when I'm in bed. If you have a PC setup ready for Mac mini. Just connect monitor and everything else to you macbook and you'll be set. That's my suggestion.

I actually have a gaming pc from 2018, as you can see on my setup tour video, and plan to upgrade it to either MacBook Pro or Mac mini/studio. Need it for video and photo editing, programming and general stuff like watching videos and web browsing. Simple and basic tasks. Not sure which Mac to choose. I have a monitor that I want to upgrade maybe to a ultrawide one, and want to get the Logitech Mx master 3s and Mx keys mini both in white to match the white setup. I want to switch to Mac because of the Apple ecosystem and because I don’t game match as before. Which Mac should I choose?
My opinion is if you cant figure out what you need in modern day computing - then you do not NEED it. Either should be able to help you accomplish most tasks.
Basically the difference is....one is portable the other is not.

Just a thought from 2021. Would it not be a good idea to revisit the CSAM effort utilizing the new AI features? No-one is technically reviewing your photos, but they can be flagged for such images/videos and reported. Any thoughts?
