- Today I'm selling "Buster", my 1973 Reinell 19 foot Boise State themed cabin cruiser boat. This is a very nice, very well equipped lake cruiser, in nice condition which runs great. The 19 foot length along with the hardtop roof and walk-through windshield make this a comfortable, roomy boat for 4-6 people. The boat is powered by an OMC (general motors) 250 cubic inch inline 6 six cylinder engine. It is rated at 165 horsepower and it runs great. The engine just received a complete tune up to make it user friendly and reliable on the water. Some of the work recently completed on the engine includes:
Carburetor rebuilt and adjusted to factory specs
Replaced fuel pump
Replaced both fuel filters
Replaced spark plugs with correct marine-grade plugs
Distributor points cleaned and adjusted
Engine thermostat just replaced
This work was completed just in the last 2 weeks so the motor now starts up great any time, whether it is cold or hot. Throttle response is smooth and the engine produces great power.
The OMC stringer electric shift outdrive has also received major work in the last few weeks. Some of the work included:
Lower unit, prop, and shift wires just completely replaced and resealed
Upper gear case just completely rebuilt with new bearings, races and seals
Intermediate case resealed
Tilt motor clutch adjusted
All fluids replaced in the last 2 weeks including lower unit, upper gear case, intermediate case, and tilt motor clutch
Upper gear case water pump replaced less than a year ago (still in good condition)
The outdrive shifts properly and does not leak, so it is ready to hit the water right away. The prop in the lower unit is an aggressive 14X18 prop, which allows for good acceleration and smooth cruising above 40 MPH.
Cosmetically, the boat is in nice condition. As I said before, the boat has a Boise state theme. It is orange and white on the outside, and blue on the inside. The gelcoat is in nice condition, with no major cracks or damage. The bow wood was just replaced with very nice redwood strips, which reinforce the bow so it can be walked on. The interior received a complete makeover last spring by its previous owner. The blue vinyl seats are still in good shape, with no rips or cracks. The carpet is still in good shape as well. All the lights, the windshield wiper, and all the gauges work properly. The boat is equipped with a nice new CD player and speakers. It also has adjustable rod holders in case you want to do some fishing. Overall, the boat is in very nice condition. It is turn-key, ready to go hit the water today.
The trailer which comes with the boat is a very nice EZ-Loader trailer with new tires a new tongue jack, and hydraulic surge brakes which work great. The trailer tows very nicely and with the surge brakes, you don't need a trailer brake controller in your vehicle to have braking on the trailer. Авто/Мото
I love my '72. Head was rebuilt a few years back to take unleaded gas. Same inline 6 Chevy mercruiser. Does about 34mph with 2 passengers in medium/smooth seas. Cruising speed around 22-24, decent on gas for a 3,500 lb boat
Go broncos! Love your boat
The inline 6 is so reliable, you can take it all the way to Canada or Mexico. (If you tow a small boat full of gas cans, both of my Reinell's inner fuel tanks only hold 18 or 20 gallons each)
Hey bud just got one a 72 to be exact it needs word needs tune up but man yours is sweet I like buster
You've had no comments? I'd have to gather you might be erasing them. Nice - I have a '78 267 twin and now I can see what saltwater does to a boat. Yours is in another league. Honestly? I need a manual for my boat buy found Buster's tv station instead.
I just inherited a '72 Reinell cabin cruiser 165 inline-6. How fast is yours?
we have a boat like that. shes a fine boat, but we never get to sail her.
Can I get a close up of the inside of that orange part on the “roof”?
My 72 reinell is sagging a bit on the 'roof '
