Though it will be difficult to implement everything Singapore adopted as India is a vast country and implementing every tiny little thing and monitoring it might not be feasible. I am 19 years old and i am watching everybody in my friend circle is very much influenced from them. Even the science students. What I think the biggest problem with baba phenomenon is that these babas reject 2 way communication. There is a central figure of a baba who's getting all the attention and rest are just standing there with their hands joined. Also these babas, NEVER, just NEVER, admit that they may be wrong or they are not the expert or they don't have much idea about this particular topic, once the bhakt completes the question, the baba starts like a radio news broadcast and keep saying whatever the f… he wants to say for half an hour to an hour or more.
I have the same thought... They always deny 2 way communication and in response they always say you need some sort of baba they use guru more specifically to reach to that entity or God.... So in all of that now baba is the main point of focus for all the people who were listening...

I'm just extrapolating from my personal experience here...the root of this trend could very well be in our education system. Remember when we used to refer to MBD guides more than (and in some cases, instead of) the prescribed textbooks, because they explained concepts in a much simpler way? Even the teachers used to recommend and sometimes even refer to these so-called guides. However, all these guides did was provide us with ways to cut corners and score well. The incentive was so high that most of us 'average Indians' preferred such 'shortcut guides' in all aspects of life. I'm a 35-year old guy and I've grown up seeing this through my schooling to B-Tech graduation (BPUT students give me a shoutout if you remember Alok guides). Real life mein na, MBD and Alok guides ke naam pe bas Maha Bhadra Dhongi and Alokik Babas hi milte hain...aur hum unhe pasand bhi karte hain. Kyunki sardi khaasi ko theek karne ke liye, ghar pe pade masaalon ko kootna zyaada asaan hai than ek doctor ki raay lena...kya pata woh 100 test prescribe karde aur unka natija hume pasand na aaye?
I like many of the things that Acharya Prashant says, that are practical. Of course not those that go into the mythical realm. He has been talking about climate change and recently even he had to say that people in his session were listening him talk about climate change because they came there to learn Geeta. If he had not been teaching scriptures, no one would give their time for climate change. And that's one of the reasons mainstream media or politicians don't talk about climate change. People are more interested in consuming content about religion. So, whoever wants acceptance for their thoughts or content in social media language, it has to be wrapped in the silver foil called religion.

I have listened to him for over 2 years and I think he is no different. He is just the same, he is the wise man, everyone else has to stand there bowing their head, their hands joined in submission, he speaks on things he has no expertise on, he never accepts any criticism, only his interpretation is right and if someone has any other interpretation, they are committing a fallacy, like once he was talking about Friedrich Nietzsche and he got angry when someone said that Nietzsche was the reason for Nazism and stared saying "Ye kahte Hain Nietzsche?" "Ye kahte hain Nietzsche?" While it's an accepted thing in academia that nobody actually understands what Nietzsche actually says but he tried to present as if what he understood is the actual meaning of what Nietzsche said. Also he speaks on everything, like literally everything and I have never heard him saying "I don't know", once he was saying that giving birth to one child is equal to cutting off 1 million trees so to aave environment don't have kids which is clearly false. Also he sometimes gives outrageous advice, like once he was saying that you should change your place of living every year which is clearly impossible in current socioeconomic conditions of India. He also does victim blaming a lot, most of the times he encourages people to not listen to their family which is a classic tactic of a cult leader, a cult leader wants to cut you off form all the support you have and wants you to be dependent on him for everything and I get a strong feeling that it is what he implies. PS: I'm not giving a verdict, I am just expressing what I felt during the 2 year period in which I regularly listened to this acharya Prashant and I always felt that there is something which isn't right with this guy. Also I am not a big fan of him presenting Upanishads and Gita as one solution to all problems.

If they endorse the ruling establisment/majoritarianism 2.cater the public by validating prevelant norms n notions of society (i.e. nodding yes to societies whims regardless of how regressive it is) 3. preaching the concept of "your religion is the authentic one and superior" And this religion is usually the one of majority. And acharya prashant's discourses are complete opposite to above points: 1. He has often pointed out how political parties use the shield of religion n cast to avoid being accountable for jobs n welfare. Has has repeatedly emphasized on how the job of govt/politicians is to improve countrie's standard of living n provide with better facilities and not to preach religious shit as that's not in their domain. 2. He has been vocal on regressive n superstitious practices of society be it blindly following rituals n stuff. Also he endorses veganism, he is feminist and highlights climatic crisis. 3. His entire concept of religion is " Science helps you to gain knowledge of external world while philosophy/scriptures helps you gain knowledge of yourself/the I entity. In short, becoming self-aware/self-knowledge thereby getting liberated of this intrinsic suffering. There is a reason you don't see his clips on RW hindutva pages ! Cuz he doesn't pander to that regressive/hatefull ideology. Also its beyond there pea-sized brain to comprehend n understand his teachings.

I'm just extrapolating from my personal experience here...the root of this trend could very well be in our education system. Remember when we used to refer to MBD guides more than (and in some cases, instead of) the prescribed textbooks, because they explained concepts in a much simpler way? Even the teachers used to recommend and sometimes even refer to these so-called guides.
However, all these guides did was provide us with ways to cut corners and score well. The incentive was so high that most of us 'average Indians' preferred such 'shortcut guides' in all aspects of life. I'm a 35-year old guy and I've grown up seeing this through my schooling to B-Tech graduation (BPUT students give me a shoutout if you remember Alok guides).
Real life mein na, MBD and Alok guides ke naam pe bas Maha Bhadra Dhongi and Alokik Babas hi milte hain...aur hum unhe pasand bhi karte hain. Kyunki sardi khaasi ko theek karne ke liye, ghar pe pade masaalon ko kootna zyaada asaan hai than ek doctor ki raay lena...kya pata woh 100 test prescribe karde aur unka natija hume pasand na aaye?

I like many of the things that Acharya Prashant says, that are practical. Of course not those that go into the mythical realm. He has been talking about climate change and recently even he had to say that people in his session were listening him talk about climate change because they came there to learn Geeta. If he had not been teaching scriptures, no one would give their time for climate change. And that's one of the reasons mainstream media or politicians don't talk about climate change. People are more interested in consuming content about religion. So, whoever wants acceptance for their thoughts or content in social media language, it has to be wrapped in the silver foil called religion.

I have listened to him for over 2 years and I think he is no different. He is just the same, he is the wise man, everyone else has to stand there bowing their head, their hands joined in submission, he speaks on things he has no expertise on, he never accepts any criticism, only his interpretation is right and if someone has any other interpretation, they are committing a fallacy, like once he was talking about Friedrich Nietzsche and he got angry when someone said that Nietzsche was the reason for Nazism and stared saying "Ye kahte Hain Nietzsche?" "Ye kahte hain Nietzsche?" While it's an accepted thing in academia that nobody actually understands what Nietzsche actually says but he tried to present as if what he understood is the actual meaning of what Nietzsche said. Also he speaks on everything, like literally everything and I have never heard him saying "I don't know", once he was saying that giving birth to one child is equal to cutting off 1 million trees so to aave environment don't have kids which is clearly false. Also he sometimes gives outrageous advice, like once he was saying that you should change your place of living every year which is clearly impossible in current socioeconomic conditions of India. He also does victim blaming a lot, most of the times he encourages people to not listen to their family which is a classic tactic of a cult leader, a cult leader wants to cut you off form all the support you have and wants you to be dependent on him for everything and I get a strong feeling that it is what he implies.
PS: I'm not giving a verdict, I am just expressing what I felt during the 2 year period in which I regularly listened to this acharya Prashant and I always felt that there is something which isn't right with this guy. Also I am not a big fan of him presenting Upanishads and Gita as one solution to all problems.
@@RR_theproahole well I respect your opinion, but there are others as well who listened him for few months and become more mature, housewives started working for societies, people got more and more aware towards climate crisis, youngsters started working for NGOs, there is one people wo literally said AP prevented him from suicide. Ofcourse if you want perfectionism from AP than its your fault. But at the end there are more positive impact than negative impact by him on society.

Don't understand why people are outrightly rejecting acharya prashant and clubbing him in the same league of fraud baba's like sadhguru, iskon etc.
Just cuz he has initial of "acharya" to his name (which he clarified that it's hindi translation for "teacher/scholar") and a beard doesn't mean you can come to conclusion without assessing his content.
He had outrightly rejected concept of "superpower/god" in old videos and even today he preaches that " Assess and know/understand, don't blindly believe. Question everything ! Be a knower not believer".
These are his words ! And he repeatedly has been emphasizing on it.
Another way to assess a person's authenticity in this domain is to figue out for following characters:
1. If they endorse the ruling establisment/majoritarianism
2.cater the public by validating prevelant norms n notions of society (i.e. nodding yes to societies whims regardless of how regressive it is)
3. preaching the concept of "your religion is the authentic one and superior" And this religion is usually the one of majority.
And acharya prashant's discourses are complete opposite to above points:
1. He has often pointed out how political parties use the shield of religion n cast to avoid being accountable for jobs n welfare.
Has has repeatedly emphasized on how the job of govt/politicians is to improve countrie's standard of living n provide with better facilities and not to preach religious shit as that's not in their domain.
2. He has been vocal on regressive n superstitious practices of society be it blindly following rituals n stuff. Also he endorses veganism, he is feminist and highlights climatic crisis.
3. His entire concept of religion is " Science helps you to gain knowledge of external world while philosophy/scriptures helps you gain knowledge of yourself/the I entity. In short, becoming self-aware/self-knowledge thereby getting liberated of this intrinsic suffering.
There is a reason you don't see his clips on RW hindutva pages ! Cuz he doesn't pander to that regressive/hatefull ideology. Also its beyond there pea-sized brain to comprehend n understand his teachings.

Bhai what you said is completely true and this phenomena is rising recently because of socio-political reasons and we are breeding whole generations of non rationals.
1.Agreed that mostly more than 90% of babas made this a business. But there are some rare ones who are actually for good purpose! What's that purpose? That purpose is to spread knowledge about spirituality, about life, the ultimate solution to miseries of life.
2. A baba talking out of his expertise could be misleading. But you must understand the true expertise of a baba(true baba especially).
3. We have expert doctor , psychiatrists , marvelous technologies, but still why people are frustrated, loosing thier characters, lif becoming miserable.
4. Spirituality is the solution becoz we tend to find happiness in material things and end up in disappointment
5. But in spirituality this is not the case(a truly practising spiritual) ..you gain ultimate happiness, ecstasy, power to build character, and lead life . This is experiencial ! Not juts a myth. Anyone can do so..:)
