Went there last year for Christmas. Started snowing the night we got there. Snowed all the next day. Wound up with 10 inches of snow. Was the most beautiful place I had ever seen with all the snow.

We stopped in Helen just for an overnight in October 2017 on our way to Disney , via a stop at Babyland General in a nearby town (Where the hQ for Cabbage Patch kids are) nice to see what is in Helen , we will have to go back.

Oh gosh folks in North ga love helen we live about 45 mins from there in fact we were just there the other day Friday exactly we went to a very popular restaurant in Cleveland ga got some food to go for our anniversary park by the river ate in the car watched the beautiful river and some swimmers and fishermen

We went to Helen a few years ago and we were blown away with how cute the town was. I believe they have a hot air ballon festival they hold there every year. Also we see you made a slight change to your opening.

How ironic, I'll be in Helen this Sunday 8/19 - Tuesday 8/21. Been several times before but been about 8 years so can not wait to revisit and after watching your video am I ready to go. I leave there and head to Gatlinburg for a couple days and going to Dollywood on Wednesday 8/22, wife is a season pass holder and has a free pass for me that has to be used this month.

You missed the most important Place is Betty's grocery store they have some very unique stuff in there and she makes homemade pecan pies. And they sell all kinds of old fashioned candy

You will love it but when it's gold rush you can't hardly move there lol so many folks from all over.....did you guys go to babyland General out from Helen when you were there its where the cabbage patch dolls are born(made)lol also go visit Tallulah gorge if you haven't and see where the great wallenda walked across the gorge on the high wire
Darlene A I love Dahlonega with the little town square. Was just there on our trip to Pigeon Forge. I love visiting the little mercantile store on the square in Dahlonega. My brother has property near Dahlonega😁

Next time i go back to USA, I will visit Helen-Georgia-USA!
If you want to see the coolest things in the USA, go to the national parks, out west. Probably the most diverse is Yellowstone National Park, then go south to the Grand Tetons, and stay in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Other national parks to check out (not necessarily in this order) are Zion Canyon, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, the Painted Desert, and In California, Yosemite is unbelievably beautiful,. North of there, go to Muir Woods, near San Francisco, where the giant sequoia trees are.
Check out my explanation on how Helen, GA, came to be, above. Helen, GA is nice, but the must-see thing in Georgia, is the Georgia Aquarium, in Atlanta.

Wow, what timing. Remember I told you we are coming 1st week of December? Helen is of of our destinations! Helen, Bryson City (train ride), and, of course, Gatlinburg. If you were thinking of moving to N.C., where would you look?

As someone that's lived in gatlinburg half my life, I am more than qualified to say, GATLINBURG SUCKS. I would go practically anywhere before choosing to go here on vacation.

Enjoyed your video! We live in Georgia and went to Helen in December for our anniversary several years ago. It was 13 degrees and the fountain was completely frozen! Are you going to come to Stone Mountain Park? It would make a great video too!😊

Since you didn’t look into it, or explain the history of the town, I will throw this in. Years ago, the city leaders of Helen wanted to attract more business to the town, so they decided to re-design the town to look like a German Village. It worked!
Nearby is Dahlonega Georgia, which is a gold mining area. There are still are some active gold mines there. A couple of other sites to see if you go to Helen, are Anna Ruby Falls, and Brasstown Bald. Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia. There’s an observation building at the top, which is very cool.

I see you are not doing 100% Smokey's Area. And you love Water Falls. Check out Fall Creek Falls State Park. It has some small falls but they have a very large one. Bring your hiking stuff because we use to park at the visitor center and you can hike all the way over to the big falls. But you can also drive over to it.
