- This shade of Ash in @Guy_Tang #Mydentity is the current obsession. These tones are hard to a get on natural dark hair so it takes patience.
🖤I used all ShadowAsh formulas on my client. Her natural level is a 1 so I prebase her hair with
1️⃣ShadowAsh5+6 20vol on rootàge
2️⃣ShadowAsh6 20vol midshaft
3️⃣ShadowAsh6+7 25vol on mid ends
On formula 3 I mix 20 and 30vol to get the 25vol. So we can boost the energy on the cold shaft of the hair.
Pre base allow a clean lifted canvas for me to highlight without racing with time.
🖤Lightening the base color on a natural level1 allows blondes to blend better with the base color so the hair has continuity with highlight creating harmony with the light smoky base.
🖤Now it’s time to highlight her hair with foils after. I used #GuyTang #Big9 creme lightener with 40vol with @Olaplex No1 and GuYTang Collagen Powder to lift the hair to a level 9-10. And then pretone with #GuyTang MistyMauve Xpress toner on damp hair for 5mins. Dry Hair and apply final glaze.

2️⃣55g ShadowAsh9 Demi + 55g 10A Demi +
4g of MidnightViolet3 with 6vol 1:2 on mids to ends.

I don’t think there’s a lot of stylist in any city who can get this right even world renowned stylist say oh her hair is too dark to get it this color that it ends up being. It’s too poor as it’s too this it’s too bad it’ll never happen it’ll be orange or yellow. Well, he got it, the right color and I don’t think she has ash which is what some of them would say oh it needs to be an ash brown or whatever I don’t know. I think it looks stunning.

Omg, Guy! I manifested more brunettes because I seem to get mostly blondes. Anyway, I get this one brassy brunette, and misty mauve as a pre-tone was life changing! I had never really used it, but it gave me the prettiest cool highlights in my ashy brunettes! I love your line!

When your the boss you can take a break, but if you're the person that needs to take care of family. You don't always get that luxury of getting a break.
My hair is down to about my mid-thigh in length. I keep it put up 90% of the time, but I'm attached to it simply because the last time I'd had it grown out to my tailbone in length - I went to have a trim and requested layering so it wouldn't hang flat, the stylist cut it to my collar bone claiming it couldn't be layered at length and required a shorter style. It resulted in me developing an obsessive attachment to my hair and it's been about 8 years since that happened and to this day I just do my own what I call "condor cut" which is a butterfly style cut just really long like condor wings 😂😂 it gives me the exact layering I want, but I'm still so afraid to commit to a big cut and to let a stylist handle it again - I am dying to change colors and get bangs again though, so that's next on my agenda lol

When I cut length of five inches or more, I pull it back in a ponytail, then use my clippers. Then touch up with my shears.

I want this hair color so bad. I don’t know how to achieve it. My hair always turns out a bit reddish or a bit orange and I make sure to use blue and green base hair dyes so idk what i am doing wrong lol

Hi Guy. I don’t know if you reply comments but I have something I really need to clarify with you. I went into a salon to bleach my hair. I’m Asian with naturally dark hair and I told them to please be careful at my roots because my hair is thin. It’s healthy to start off with but I do have naturally fine hair. It was about a level 4. The previous bleach job I did at another salon was great. But I went in to this salon cause they were having some bleach and colour promotion. The colourist started off at my roots and then proceeded to go full head. After 10 minutes or so it was really starting to hurt and burn and I asked them to wash it off. Which they did. And then they coloured it. The color was wrong and they had to bleach it again and then re-color it. Fast forward to 3 months later and I notice now that about 10% of my hair is growing from the roots as blonde hair. It’s shocking but I pull off those strands and they are actually blonde from the root ! I told the salon about it, saying that it is malpractice for them to start at my roots and leave it on the whole head and the owner proceeded to show me one of your videos where you also start the bleach process from the roots. From your years of experience has this ever happened and what is actually going on? And does this mean that my hair is damaged ?
I think you have grey hair mam. Your hair won’t just all the sudden grow a different colour from bleaching it. If they used to high of a developer on the scalp it can burn however regardless bleach on the scalp has always been irritating to me and makes it a little itchy
I'm taller than her, at 6'. So my hair was longer due to my height. Make sense? But I was exhausted from shampooing and brushing out and one day I cut it all off myself. Now I am silver, white and some black and desperately need a style ❤
How I do my hair with you where are you?

I kind of color and bleach my hair every couple of months I don't do my roots I wait for a fresh new buzz cut before I bleach and yes I went back to dark blonde I used bondbar haircolor and booster I have dark blonde yes I used an ash because I repigmentate with gold n red cover but i put too much copper so I used an ash dark blonde I have a neat color now
My other question is that I’m watching that maybe I need to rewatch this
why would anybody color it Brown and then gonna rinse it off
Only then to lighten again with lightener
why not do both at the same time ?
Because you would race with time to pull the lightener or bleach out while color is still processing. And with Asian hair by lightening it first, it will presoften the hair by lifting it several levels . Makes it easier for clean and not messy color application. It’s good to keep an open mind when learning about different approaches to different hair types.
I’m essentially breaking the base to the hair making it easier process and not have to race with bleach process vs color process. As they both require 2 different approaches. Bleach or lightener requires more time and also maybe checking to make sure it lift’s perfectly as Asian hair is more difficult to lift

As I usually start at the back of the head I pulled the foils if needed as I usually use lower volume Lightner but depending on what’s going on, so I don’t understand any of that type of application
But then I foil quite fast and I’ve done haircolor for 26 years

As you see the base color require 3 different formulas to prevent hot roots and even canvas. Trying to juggle that with highlights simultaneously is messy and trying to rinse ash color around the highlights will only make it harder on ourselves. There’s different approaches to different people and other hair types. I don’t do this on hair levels 5 and up. It all varies. As an Asian person I know the result we want to achieve and it works.

@@Jeremy-lu8ig Like I said I don’t do this method on everyone. Only specific dark hair types that are levels 1-4 usually Asian that desire to have ashy results with dimension in one sitting. My others who aren’t in this category. I can foil with low volume and base at the same time. Like I said it all varies on the hair and the person and the result
My hair is so thin and frail that it has never been longer than schouder length.
