Funny story about the Cardi B one. They couldn't get the license for the sample so they actually had a studio band cover it and they sampled the cover, and the entire team working the song had to fly to Miami to see the studio band cover it because the label executives thought it sounded too close to the original. I only know this because I've met Leslie Brathway (the mix engineer for the song) multiple times and it's a story he tells fairly often to Full Sail students.
The Whatnauts sample will always be remembered from De La Soul's "Ring Ring Ring" 1991 It was also used in Jaheim's remix ft Jadakiss "Ain't leaving without you" 2010 Dope channel USO !
First time seeing Linkin Park was sampled. They are probably really hard to sample, because even though they used many cool sounds (their own samples), you can simply tell it's Linkin Park just by the sound of it. That's probably why not many people sample them. Really cool to see them sampled in one song with Limp Bizkit, they're two of my most favorite bands. Also, the part by Limp Bizkit that was sampled here was actually already sampled by Limp Bizkit. Hung Up On My Baby was also sampled by Geto Boys in My Mind Is Playing Tricks On Me.
I used to work at a place where they would pump Muzak through the speakers. One day I heard Rise by Herp Albert and thought it was a good track. All of a sudden I started hearing Hypnotize lol. But I did some research and besides Rise, Herp Albert has some really good music
Honestly, I think he just finds samples to use in his videos regardless of the year. That being said... I also think modern rap is absolutely horrendous!
@@8mu- Sorry! The finished tracks. Definitely not the video! Hip hop was amazing for sampling, I literally spent hours as a kid trying to figure out samples and work out what the producer had done. I find new hip hop incredibly boring. It's basically loops. I know that statement makes me sound like an old prick, and maybe I am but I do feel older hip hop (amongst other genres) experimented more. Love the channel!
dylan vasey I’m not a fan of modern hip hop to be fair. I put this video out just to get something a bit more modern out on the channel and it’s bombed haha. Can’t go wrong with the old school, when sampling was at its best.
That Isaac Hayes & Kodak Black sample does not count! Isaac Hayes was firstly sampled by Geto Boys, and later on Geto Boys were then sampled by Kodak Black!
I haven't listened to the current generation music but listening to the songs here it seems i haven`t missed much specially from 2000 onward it gets pretty awful. Only good sampled songs were Stardust, Notorious B.I.G - Hypnotize, A tribe called quest. In alot of these cases the original songs were way better lol.
The industry of music is going to shit! Trap is one the worst thing that could've ever happen to the musical arts. And I bet those "music producers" will be getting a shit ton of awards, just by copy-pasting old hits smh
@@thepancakereviewer Lapfox is a guy with 500 different names because they're his furry OCs assigned to different genres. In this case Renard. Renard's Encore wasn't a hit, not even a minor one.

Crash And Burn Music is that ok to do or does that go dangerously into copying?
@@shanettequao9043 It's dangerously close, but legal.

8:25 Isaac Hayes - Hung up on my baby = Geto Boys - Playing Tricks On Me (1991) ?
Roland Clarke's sample was also used by fatboy slim in two of his songs ;) Star 69 and Song for a Shelter
8:25 Gheto Boyz sampled this for "My Mind's Playin' Tricks On Me" back in the 1990s long before 2017!
Can you do a video on like most used SFX samples?
Glass breaking, Gun Shots, Explosions etc
inb4 wilhelm compilations

I think it’s the incredibly awful and repetitive rap “music” these days that started in 2016 and hasn’t really stopped.
how did i know these comments was gonna be full of people bitching about the music

I completely agree with you on that!
1:58 Crush On You samples Rain Dance by Jeff Lorber
I have an idea:
Who sampled songs from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise?
Jared Lammi
People with good tastes in game perhaps?
Cool there's some Renard. She's awesome.
I think Oh Wonder: Landslide sampled that from Tangerine Dream.
Fatboy Slim also sampled the song I Get Deep by Roland Clark in his song Star 69
1:13 smoking gun also sounds similar to getting higher from the rocky soundtrack
8:20 also Geto Boys-Mind Playing Tricks on Me
DR Media that songs fucks with me so much
You need to check Gigi D'agostino's "La Passion". The original is by a French artist (R.I.P) named Jacno. The song is Rectangle.
Your sampling series reminds me of Michael Tan’s sampling videos.
except Michael Tan pitch/speed shifts the original songs into the sampled songs
Most of the „original Samples“ are semples themselves.
1:01 this defamation to the best song from the Chef soundtrack hurts my heart :(
Queen Of Baltimore Club...released in 2001
8:04 Adventure Time?
Good one! Lotta dope samples.
Little Kim and Notorious Big ripped off Jeff Lorber Fusion's Rain Dance.
actually they directly sampled it + Rain Dance was also in right there by Ariana Grande
Could you do a video about the Altern-8 samples?
Here's another one:
Delinquent Habits' "Tres Delincuentes" and the sample they got from Herb Alpert's "The Lonely Bull".
Definitely wasn’t expecting to see Renard here
Was not expecting to see renard here
I've never thought Renard was going to be here. Yet now, it's in this video. Wow
Last sample was also used by Run DMC
I am still waiting for Eddie Johns - More Spell On You...Sampled by Daft Punk - One More Time
Not gonna lie, I think it's kinda cool that Lil Peep sampled "Unholy Confessions" by Avenged Sevenfold.
Just stopping by to say that Mala - Changes is a rippa!!
Changes was also sampled in Holy Water by The Game
9:27 les difficiles de petion-ville, Haiti represent 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
Statik Selektah Sampled Fate in his Song "Beautiful Life", Featuring Joey Badass and Action Bronson.
My Mind's Playing Tricks On Me at around 8:20
0:26 - Da notare che l'unico sample italiano è quello di Sfera Ebbasta!
Lol
Exchange > deja vu
Mind Playing Tricks On Me > kodak wack
great!!
thank you for including renard lmao
Would "I Like It Like That" by The Blackout All Stars be considered a sample or a cover?
Hit songs??????
sHit songs
edit: commented before biggie, tribe and mos def showed up. das good shit
Only a few of them are any good.
1:12 What they didn't mention here is that the original track is sampling the Theme to Rocky.
But they did mention it later in the video
Sfera Ebbasta is the shame of Italy
Vero
What's the sample of strings at the very end of the video??
I can't hear unholy confessions in that Lil Peep song and that makes me so fucking happy

2:10 is it just me or Mariah Carey's song A No No sounds like TLC's song No Scrub?
5:19 "Who can I run to" was originally from the Jones Girls.
But the sample used by Anderson Paak is from Xscape's version
My god, I normally love hearing samples and the way they are used. But these are a tragedy of the aural variety.
