I'm not a vlogger but have created a vlog using the action 3 and am more than satisfied with the result. Not interested in comparing with anyting - I made my decision based on gut feel and am sticking to it. Thanks
Your A3 looks normal. I think it's a solid camera and option over GoPro. I like the wider FoV and no fish eye look. Smaller size, front touch screen, fast charging, better skin color, super solid stabilization and of course, price. Audio was adequate for the environment. I just wish DJI would give us a sharpness level option as GoPros. Great video!
Thanks so much for watching! Yes I tend to shoot my GoPro's in a flat color profile and do a bunch of editing to dial things in because I don't like the presets on GoPro's but to tell you the truth the Action 3 was really quite good out of the box in the normal color profile.
Like you I also love the Action 2. And I bought 3 of them for my MTB rides. And no complaint here. As long as you use it the way it's ment to be use. In Action. That's why for Action 3. I'm still on the fence.
I have the GoPro 8 on my mountain bike and favor that for the size over the Hero 10 & 11 however, I think I will try the Action 2 for that as well. I primarily purchased the Action 2 so I can get footage in places where I don't want to make people uncomfortable with a bigger camera. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This is the first video where the Osmo Action 3 does not seem oft/out of focus both close and at a distance. DO you know when it was produced? is it a new batch? in any case it seems that the digital sharpening is a bit too high. too bad it can not be changed like with the GoPros.
@@HeHasTheCamera thank you. Where do you get to see the manufacture date? Is it visible on the box before opening it? Did yoy buy the camera only or the combo?
No, not at all. The manufacture date is September of 2022. I also upgraded to the latest firmware after unboxing. I know a lot of people have had issues. I have had none.
Hi He, great review that looks somehow differnet and somehow good. Nice, that you placed some infos about your locations. And the OA3-footage looks good and... sharp!! It seems, that you don't have focus issues, the net ist talking about. What date is on the box? 2022-09? 2022-10?
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it. I did update the software out of the box and so far no I have not had any issues related to focus. (Y/M) says 9/2022 - if that is what I'm looking for?
Well, mine does not have a focus issue. The manufacture date on the box says September 2022. I've seen some videos describing a fix to it but haven't had a chance to watch.
I bought the combo edition but I was not happy about the image quality I have terrible eyes and I was worried about focus issue my build was sep 22 so I returned it and got my money back saying that I will be baying a action camera in two months but I ham wornding wether hi should get osmo action 3 ou Gopro 10 here in Portugal they have this combo type edition and price his about the same... Wish you well
Well obviously a lot of people are having issues with the soft focus. I have mostly been happy with mine. I also have the Hero 10 and based on your description, this safer choice is probably the Hero 10. If you already had the 10 then I might suggest getting the Action 3 instead of the Hero 11 because of price. But as you've described it, it's a tough choice, but I'd probably go with the GoPro just to be safe.
I have not experienced any focus issues and I've been happy with the product. However, there are a lot of people obviously who did have problems so it's a bit of a risk I guess. If you get a good unit then I would say it is my favorite camera.
I’ve recently picked up an Action 3 as my first action cam ever and upon making a couple of test shots in the studio I thought it was broken, even people in the comments said so. But when I took it outside, it was super sharp and very nice. I guess I shouldn’t be comparing an action camera image quality with a full frame sensor camera. For outside sports shots Action 3 is damn good camera, for drinking at the bar B-Roll shots, definitely not.
100% correct! Action cameras are terrible in low light. I shoot my entire channel with an action camera and a phone. The phone is for low light or any indoor shots and video. Outdoors they are fantastic. You can't beat the stabilization and they are durable and ultra portable. It's a great combo to carry and will cover most of one's needs together!
The hero is a great camera. I have a hero 10 and a hero 11 and the action 3. I prefer the action 3 because it is a little easier to carry and the quick mounts are great because they are magnetic.
The 3 and the 11 are both very capable cameras. Some prefer the features of one over the other. It all boils down to personal choice. Fortunately for you, you got a 3 that doesn't have focusing issues that many are complaining about. I have the 11, and I'm very happy with it. Maybe I'm a fan boy, I don't know, but I've owned GoPro cameras for many years now and have never been disappointed. DJI also makes the OSMO Pocket. I have one, and it's quite remarkable for such a small camera. I take it along with the GoPro and use it when the sun goes down. Much better in low light than the GoPro. I wish you the best with your 3. Just remembered. The big issue I have with GoPro is in photo mode. I've gone around the table with them regarding aspect ratios. Give me the choice of, say 4 x 6 , 6 x 9 etc. All I get is a stupid square image. A huge let down for me.
@@Worthfishing they may send a new refurbished one that has the same defective focus calibration and an out of focus image from close up to infinity. If i order from b and h photo i get almost 9% off on the final price. But will wait and see.
@@stefpix I guess it’s just a chance a guy has to take. I have two of the original Osmo action cams never had a problem they work great but I might skip the action cam 3 and go with the Gopro 11. Btw I have the Gopro 9 black Not to happy with it.
No I have had no out of focus issues. The manufacture date is September 2022 and it did ask me to update the firmware when first powered on. I shot a lot of video that day and so far no issues.
Everything was set to Auto. I do think today's consumer market enjoys "punchy" colors so I think DJI is leaning towards a little heavy saturation. Thanks for watching!
This really seals the deal for me. I pretty much loathe GoPro as it seems that they don't actually use the products they make. I do an automotive RUclips channel that is mostly working in the shop but some driving and racing. Action cameras really are the best option, but I am so tired of GoPro junk. The MediaMod is probably the worst thing I have ever used and I went back to the stupid audio adapter ziptied to my tripod, even still I have to do a sound test every day that I film cause sometimes the audio is non existent. The sound in this video was plenty good enough that I wouldn't even need an external mic, but if I did the Osmo wireless mic seems much easier to use with the Action 3.
I did do some very minor adjustments to audio gain and some of the clips. But yes, I found the audio to be quite good. I really feel like the accessories that use the quick mount is also a major advantage. I find myself struggling all the time with the GoPros If I'm in a situation where I want to make quick adjustments. I appreciate you watching.

As for Vlogging, I would go for Pocket 2. Nothing beats a mechanical gimbal on a low light situation.
More than 2 yrs later ...do you think the Action 3 is still the best affordable cameras for beginners? . Im like your videos & music

I have had no issue with focus on my camera. My manufacturer date is September of 2022.

Yes. I did edit the audio a bit. Increased the gain a little and some treble in editing but there is no external microphone.
